hole in the wall but goodness. yes the wait is long (30 minutes to an hour for food to be ready) but you will not be disappointed. the burgers are fantastic - ive tried three different types now and every one is good. dont get the buffalo burger too spicy though - go mild to medium. the verde fries are a must - love em. the atmosphere is just that - a hole in the wall so dont expect ambiance.

danger. was a fan until tonight. several regulars and the bouncer chased a customer out of the bar. he left his burger. the bouncer bragged about getting a free burger.

viva las vegas. as a zombie, i usually avoid the dance floor because my depleted dexterity and limited flexibility mean i just shuffle around out there, and i don't mean the cupid shuffle either. but when the juke box is going at casino el camino even i can't stop myself from shaking it until one of my limbs falls off. add in a great atmosphere and cold beers and this is a great place to hang out, which you will be doing for a long time because the food service is pretty slow.

slow, but worth it. casino el camino has two of the finest burgers in austin (the buffalo and the kc). so whether you've been hitting up the clubs or terrorizing the streets of the living casino el camino is the best place in town to end your night!

my last stop.. every time i go downtown, casino is always my last stop. their buffalo burger is simply the best way to end the night.

expect a fairly solid wait (roughly 30 minutes), so get there before you are super starving.

everybody loves somebody sometimes. the first time i walked into casino over a decade ago, i was pretty chuffed to have found it. it was about 6 in the evening on weeknight and i was meeting friends for "the burger"

the tv was playing full metal jacket with the sound off and the juke box was hiccuping it's way through a real boozer of a song. it was everything i like in a dive bar and nothing that i expect from a restaurant.

the bathrooms are gagacious. you might want to put on a pair of diapers rather than use the head, but then this is from the 6th st clientele not the bar. and 6th street is the tired old whore of the downtown scene. 6th street's days of being a great lady of the downtown area are long gone.

she's more like a down on her luck, debased and addicted mama san these days. but i digress.

the guys working the hell hole of a grill have been there for forever (at least last time i was there) the bartenders are either very friendly ex carnies or pissy hard cases. the staff is very mixed bag.

don't expect polite behavior from the grill, in fact the nicer you are to them, the more they cop attitude. but those burgers.. jeeesus! my personal favorite is the black and blue, if i'm really hungry i can eat an entire half burger.

plan on taking leftovers home unless you are a competitive eater. i can only eat there once a year, but if you're gonna be "bad" go all in, right?
those burgers could start a riot.

anyone who prefers huts over casino is a puss and is probably a closeted vegan who wears dorky keep austin weird t-shirts anyways.

very good burgers, wait is too long.. went there because i'd heard the burgers were great; it's kind of a dank, dark hole in the wall bar full of bored-looking tattooed people. some girl told us to sit at a table and took our drink order; brought back drinks and promptly went away to stand/wander aimlessly in the middle of the room and avoid eye contact with me at all costs. this went on for about twenty minutes when one of our drinks was finally empty; she came to refill it and i asked her if i could order, at which point she's like "oh, you order in the back." uh... wish i'd known that twenty minutes ago. i wasn't expecting fine dining but it'd be nice to have a sign up or some way of indicating what to do.

anyway, we ordered, and thirty minutes later, our burgers were ready. they were the only orders the cooks had, and it took them thirty minutes. wtf. that is unacceptably long for two burgers. (during this thirty minutes, our drinks emptied and sat there unrefilled until about three minutes before we left, despite our trying to get the drink-girl's attention.)the burgers were really good--probably up there with phil's, but not quite hut's or fuddruckers--and that's why i rated it "i like it", but i probably won't go back there again because of the brusque employees and the ridiculous wait for the food.

favorite burger joint. this place is absolutely awesome! walk in and head straight to the back counter to order a burger; all burger options are fantastic. we also like to get a basket of fries, and then we head to the bar to grab a beer, and then upstairs to look over the crowd, watch whatever movie is on tv, and jam to the music being played over the great jukebox. they also have a patio out back that's nice for any spring or fall night in austin. dont miss this place on 6th street! if you do, you'll be kicking yourself in the face!

great burgers, interesting people, long wait. the burgers are definitely some of the best around, and offered lots of interesting ways. i also highly recommend the verde chili fries.

this is not mcdonald's, it may take a while to get your food. the best way to enjoy casino el camino is to order some drinks, do some people watching, and enjoy the wait for what will be a really great meal.

burgers a bit over rated. they're decent but they take way too long to get, maybe make them smaller so they can get out in less than an hour.
