casa goa

goa is where i had my honeymoon. so i decided to head to casa goa for one last fling before ramadan. what was once a decent place to enjoy coastal fare & drinks with quick service had descended into the realm of awful places we should think twice about before visiting. the experience was worse than my honeymoon & marriage. and considering i'm divorced, that's saying a bit about the place!!
they have a very decent offer on singha beer - 5 bottles in a bucket for dhs 60. so i went for that. too bad the beer bottles were warm. after the first bottle, i was left to open the others myself. a packet of napkins were kept on the table, the plastic torn thru roughly. i thought i was at a cheap birthday party! :-(
as for the food, the photos i'm uploading alone will be sure to spoil your appetite. thegoancigar (my usual favourite) was soggy. the vegetable cutlets were dry & unseasoned. and the mushrooms had a slimy texture, like they went straight from a can with brine into the pan. the mushrooms were small buttons & whole, and the flavour of the onions and tomatoes didn't integrate at all. and don't get me started on the presentation. a roadside malabari cafeteria does more justice. 
what an utter shame!

place was refered by a friend and we went there on the eve of ramadan. it's an indian (specifically goan) bar that has live music, dimmer lights (as you can see from the photos) and cheap alcohol. we ordered the egg briyani, rechardo pomfret, beef vindaloo, pork ribs, chapattis andgoanbread and i'll tell you this, they sure don't shy away from the chilly powder. food took a while to be served. there was only one waitress that night serving everyone. impressively she remembered our order without writing it down.
food tasted alright, it was definetly spicy hence those who have a low tolerance either ask for a big bowl of raitha or order the milder curries. thegoanbread is the pav. fish smelled fishy (sort of like dried fish smell), tasted okay. 
the one flaw was that we ordered drinks like whisky and baileys, however we were not asked if it had to be a double or single shot and found at the time of bill payment that we had been served double. we would have preferred if the serving size was clarified rather than assumed.

visited this place on mother's day, was a bit disappointed with the interior looked like we entered someone's living room. the place is divided in 3 parts - bar area, orchestra area and family area. did not like the setting at all. sorpotel was just perfect,goancigar(prawns rolled in papas) was okay, beef sukem with capsicum was good and xap chilly fry(squids and prawns) was delicious. just a suggestion to casa goa management please add some wall decor which will give the feel of goa when you enter likegoanrestaurants in dubai.

this place has loud music and the food i did not enjoy either.
but they serve amazing sea food alcohol is also served at good price.
weekends they have band playinggoansongs

probably the onlygoanbar n restaurant in abu dhabi. good atmosphere on weekends especially on thursday!! service very friendly !! food can be quicker as you need to wait a real long time ....even for salads !!! closing time not yet sure as the staff insist that they close at 1:30am on weekdays but zomato says 2.
overall, a good place but kitchen can be better !!!!

this is one of the bettergoanfood i have tasted in all the years. the curries are authentic and the portion size is good too. will order again and again. only thing that thegoanbread is actually serve as chapatis. i thought it will be sanna or something else. but still it went well with the cafreal.

to have authenticgoanfood, we decided on none other than the all so famous @casagoa.auh @casagoaad

what we ate/drank:-
1) starters:
beef cutlet : crispy beef patties/cutlets with the right amount of spice served with fries and ketchup.

2)fresh bombay duck fry : opted for the true rava masala, fresh crispy bombay ducks served with salad on side.perfect starter for the night.one portion has 3 bombay duck fries.

3) mains:
pork vindaloo - authenticgoandish with perfect mix of masala giving in a sweet and sour flavor.the pork was cooked really well.we had it with steamed rice - match made in heaven!

4) chicken vindaloo - it was similar to the pork vindaloo, however we felt the chicken version was much spicy compared to the pork vindaloo.had it with steamed rice as well.was very happy and satisfied with the food.

5) drinks:-
vodka with orange juice for av
grasshopper for us - a sweet mint flavored after dinner drink!

casa goa is one of the known restaurant in abu dhabi serving authenticgoancuisine.thegoandishes are the best.it has a very good ambience for a chilled out night with friends and family.they do have live music band.most of the time this place is crowded specially on weekends, hence suggest to make a reservation.they have seperate smoking/non smoking areas.a must visit place if you love goan/pork dishes.staffs are friendly and accommodating.
all in all a great place to drink, watch sports, play pool and enjoygoanfood!! it's open till 3am as well 🙂❤

the bestgoanfood dining experience with some amazinggoanfood. our server savio was very professional and courteous and offered great service. keep up the great service with equally amazing and flavourful food.

lovely place for authenticgoanfood. great service. the staff is very attentive and helpful. my usual place for chicken drumsticks and a pint of peroni :)

we have been to this place on my birthday couple of days back, after seeing the so positive reviews on zomato on the authencity ofgoancuisine. to our surprise, it was an absolute waste of time and evening we spent in casa goa, no doubt the ambience and the place are just ok, however the food was an absolute disappointment. firstly, we ordered pepper chicken and peri peri fish as starters and both served had very less salt and were tasting too spicy without any flavor to it. being an indian, we love spicy food but nothing of it we ordered later as well were tasting even 20% close to thegoancuisine. it is indeed surprising to see the food tasting was not been done before serving the food to their guests. we didn't want to spoil rest of our evening by having dinner hence we left the place after having few starters.

we were the only guests present in the restaurant that evening. we also felt the menu too overpriced for the quality of food served and the ambience. i would say hero's bar and restaurant which grades at similar level has a very lively ambience and good food. this place definitely requires an extreme modification in the menu, taste and originality.

must try this place forgoancuisine. they have live band on weekends and the food is super delicious here. chicken vindaloo and all pork dishes are just perfect here. amazing ambience and staff is humble, kind and very courteous. best place to celebrate birthdays as they arrange the table and everything perfectly. i am in love with this place and the positive atmosphere in there. you guys rock team casa goa♥️

i have been going to this place for some amazinggoanfood. theirgoandishes are the best. everytime i crave for vindaloo rice.... this is the right place to go. it reminds me of my mom's vindaloo 😍.
