i host a youtube food show and we were lucky enough to meet its owner/gm, lincoln cheong, and experience carousel creamery and all it has to offer. and boy, this place sets the bar high, really high.
lincoln explained to us that they live by the "small batch" process of making ice cream. just like the term suggests, the ice cream is made in small batches and given a great deal of attention from creation to it being served to the customer. you can taste the quality and the care that goes into each and every flavor of ice cream they offer.
and speaking of flavors, they've got about 100+ in-house for your choosing. don't be afraid though because the staff are well-trained and extremely helpful. some notableflavorswe came across during our visit:
-"honey lavender" - in the words of my gf "it tastes like france". sounds odd, but it's so accurate with the use of real honey and lavender steeped into the ice cream.
-"lychee" - creamy and just the right amount of sweetness. the chunks of fresh lychee were really refreshing to bite into.
-"tamarind chili sorbet" - they served me a sample of it with a sprinkle of salt. i kid you not, it felt like i was eating one of those salty, spicy tamarind candies of my childhood.
pros
-with 100+flavorson deck, you're bound to find one that you like.
-a+ to the helpful and very accommodating staff.
-ice cream line-up is never the same and you can make suggestions if you don't see a flavor on the menu that you'd like to see in the future.
cons
-none. just wish i could taste all theflavorsin one visit!
