love this place. this place takes the auckland cocktail bar scene to a whole new level. you come in and they ask you what flavours, smells, tastes etc. you like. they then make you a cocktail based on that. they ended up making something with cognac, gingernut and maple syrup for me which was amazing. ambience is a dim light setting which is perfect for an intimatenightout or date with the girls!

had an awesomenighthere! love the idea of having bartenders personalize and create your drink to your liking. because it's so popular, you often have to wait an hour or so on a busynightsuch as saturday. however, it was worth it.
the staff were genuine and helpful and service was prompt. aside from the drinks, we also ordered a cheese board which was delicious. the cheese melted in your mouth, the mustard was super creamy, the fruit/bread/salami and pickles went very well with the cheese. would come back here again.

been here for drinks with mates on an evening out. always busy but a good place to visit for a datenightor with mates. drinks and cocktails galore be prepared to be surprised with a lot of different tasting drinks

what a place! went there on mondaynightwith friends. great atmosphere. enjoyed the live music and the drinks are marvellous.

if you’re looking for a bar where you can just chill and drink, then caretaker is an amazing place for that! especially because they make you personalised alcohol, according to what you’re feeling that night. they have no menu.
the staffs are extremely friendly, and the atmosphere is perfect for anightout.

hands down the best bar i’ve experienced in auckland. i love the ambience and the theme of the bar! we went on tuesday which was jazznightand it was amazing 😻😻 i was more drunk on the atmosphere than the drink. the staffs were so friendly and amazingly patient, explained everything and was very welcoming. you don’t see a lot of bars that has everything perfect- and this one was. i will definitely come back! perfect for a datenightas well 💓

every time i've been to caretaker i become obsessed with it all over again. the entire atmosphere is an experience, with the method of ordering drinks making the wholenightone hell of a time. i've been in a few times, each time ordering a variety of different specifications and the bartenders always come up with the most insanely great drink.

loved this new underground bar in town. the bar inside is dark but it has a good vibe to it. staff are quite friendly and knowledgable about the drinks. the cocktails are pricey $18 bux, but okay for once in a while drinks on anightout. for a saturdaynightthe place was full, there is limited seating as the bar isn't as big inside. we had to leave some mates on the upper level bar as there was no space, which was probably the only downside. overall it's a unique bar to go to, would defs recommend it to anyone who's keen to go to a chill, not to loud space for drinks in town.

great service and delicious cocktails. expect a wait as this place is popular! my chocolate orange creamy concoction was fantastic. obviously i just wish it were bigger since it tasted so good. we also tried delicious honey and milk shots. a slight misunderstanding with staff started thenightoff on a weird foot, but they quickly rectified this and were extremely accommodating and kind it's a stressful atmosphere for staff with so many people wanting to come inside, but limited seating. bar staff were fantastic and very well trained. pictures too hard as it was pretty dark, but trust me, the ambiance is beautiful and the music just the right volume (unlike upstairs...) go check it out!

love the decor and cocktails there. they will tailor make your cocktails. a bit on the pricey side, but it is great place to stop by on anightout.

such a lovelynightspending time and enjoying the drinks with my sister, the drinks are spot on, just what we wanting to have. i had one of the drink which is almond flavour, that was absolutely delicious. definitely go back again.

service was amazing, atmospheres was awesome, perfect for a datenightbut alright for group hangouts as it was abit dark there but overall it was awesome

incredible. accomodating, spectacular customer service and very classy. caretaker is a classic cocktail bar. they have a preset menu but like to not show customers and instead make drinks custom to how you're feeling and wanting. if you don't like it, they will make you another one.

price : all drinks are 19 dollars. it's steep, but you're paying for quality, atmosphere, class and service. to compare, this is not a 3 dollar smirnoff from bar 101.

on saturdaynightit was a great underground vibe and on sunday it was a chill after work quiet time.

i got a vodka based drink with a lime wedge in a margarita style in the first photo. second photo i got a "great jack port". refreshing taste and valence between sweet, sour and citrus.

if you're a regular then they give you a little book specific for you so that if you want to refer back to a drink you've had you can easily find it.

this is very first time that i have been here.
i was introduced by friend of mine.
i thought to check it out.
their cocktail are pretty amazing. basically you tell them what you really like and they make it for you.
however don't recommend to go on weekends.
i did and i wish choose differentnightto have fun .
we had our first round pretty fast.
how ever we had to wait 35 min to get our second round.
wish i could try few cocktail however by the time we had our second round it was 11pm.and we got there at 9pm.
but customer service were on point.
friendly staff and nice atmosphere there.
if you are cocktail lover and you got a time give it try.
