love this place. this place takes the auckland cocktail bar scene to a whole new level. you come in and they ask you what flavours, smells, tastes etc. you like. they thenmakeyou a cocktail based on that. they ended up making something with cognac, gingernut and maple syrup for me which was amazing. ambience is a dim light setting which is perfect for an intimate night out or date with the girls!

i have only been here once, and i am 100000000% coming here again!!

what's not to love?
- the aesthetic of the places gives of a 1940's vibe as you walk in and take a seat.
- the experience is so personalised, you feel super special. both the servers and the mixologists are so nice, it feels like they really care about you and want you to have the best experience possible!
- the personalised cocktails theymakefor you... oh my god they are so good! yes the place is on the more expensive end but it is definitely worth it.

loved the uniqueness of the cocktails that theymakebased on what you really feel like having.
i tried 3-4 different and each was better than the next. very flavourful and they turned out really similar to what we had asked for.
we were well taken care of all evening by our amazing server euan, he was attentive & friendly and overall we had a great evening. will surely be back soon!

the cocktails here are amazing. they don’t have a menu so they ask you what you like and theymakeone specifically for your taste. the service is great and the atmosphere here is also great. it’s a nice place for a date or a quick drink before dinner. i haven’t tried the food but the cocktails alone are worth the visit. they are pricey but worth it in my opinion.

when we finally found the caretaker, we absolutely loved it. super cool atmosphere, friendly staff. they don't have a cocktail menu - instead they ask you questions and design a cocktail menu for your specific tastes. really nice place to start or end your evening, if you can afford to splash out a bit.
my only complaints would be; it's a little hard to find if you've never been there. we were surprised that no one offered us a food menu for nibbles the whole time we were there. and it's very expensive.
they also don't take bookings, which i absolutely hate in any form of eatery/ drinkery. i would prefer that they allowed me tomakea booking and took my card details as a security if we didn't turn up without letting them know than i would not be able tomakea booking at all.

if you’re looking for a bar where you can just chill and drink, then caretaker is an amazing place for that! especially because theymakeyou personalised alcohol, according to what you’re feeling that night. they have no menu.
the staffs are extremely friendly, and the atmosphere is perfect for a night out.

this has to be one of the best cocktail selling bar. there is no set menu for drinks basically you tell them anything you feel like and they willmakeyou a drink according to your preferences. best thing is you can change your drink with no extra cost if it doesnt satisfy your taste buds. i had blueberry mojito and was awesome. however i do recomend to book a table in advance as it gets very busy over the weekend.

shhhhhh......it’s secret! fantastic new york prohibition underground bar. bar tenders / mixologists are the shizzle! there are no menus, they ask you what you like andmakecocktails to suit. bang on every time. $19 per cocktail, well with the experience, had a great time!!

definitely one of the coolest bars i’ve been to, hard to find somakesure you take someone who’s been before! be prepared for no menu, so have in mind what you like. a little on the pricier side for a cocktail but the service and experience is definitely worth it ! will be back :)

a hidden little gem, under the busy britomart area. love the ambience and how the place is decorated. sitting at the bar probably is the best spot to watch them how theymakeyour cocktails, very entertaining!

they focus on making classic cocktails and spinoffs of classic cocktails using basic ingredients. quality>quantity.

they ask a set of questions to get a grasp of what you are in the mood for, what you like and what you dislike. it can be a hit or miss depending on your answers somakesure to think it through in order to get the best out of your experience.

any cocktail is $19. it's on the pricier side but their cocktails have a generous amount of alcohol compared to other cocktails which usually cost around $15-$20.

incredible. accomodating, spectacular customer service and very classy. caretaker is a classic cocktail bar. they have a preset menu but like to not show customers and insteadmakedrinks custom to how you're feeling and wanting. if you don't like it, they willmakeyou another one.

price : all drinks are 19 dollars. it's steep, but you're paying for quality, atmosphere, class and service. to compare, this is not a 3 dollar smirnoff from bar 101.

on saturday night it was a great underground vibe and on sunday it was a chill after work quiet time.

i got a vodka based drink with a lime wedge in a margarita style in the first photo. second photo i got a "great jack port". refreshing taste and valence between sweet, sour and citrus.

if you're a regular then they give you a little book specific for you so that if you want to refer back to a drink you've had you can easily find it.
