this time in goa we wanted to try something new...so we searched for best places for live music in goa...and amongst the 10places we randomly picked cantare(m glad we did!!!) .this place is very homely.we chose a seat in the balcony...and ordered some cocktails first...!then some dishes(sorry don't remember the names😢)it was good.
the people there are very friendly...neha is a very good host..!they will help u through your order and make sure that you enjoy there.
and last but not the least -the music there is awesome!!!!we got to know that there was a new musician from anjuna playing that day.he was too good.we requested a couple of songs and he sang all of them 😊😊😊
the only one problem that we faced was the place in the balcony area gets too hot..!!!otherwise it's a must try if u want to explore new places in goa.

the place is easy to find just beside the road in saligao. the parking area is non existent. the décor and lighting is relaxing. we has the fried calamari, the papaya salad with fish sauce and the phad tai. they were all good and tasty. for dessert, the key lime pie is delicious. the mocha dark rum ice cream was a major let down. it came melted and in liquid form with too much dark rum that made it seem like a cocktail. the staff mentioned that it is from an outside vendor and it has been coming in like this for a while now. we suggest removing this item from your menu.

positives- the ambience and a great live band. negatives - the owner claimed he's been in the business for 30 years & owned restaurants abroad! with due respect to his 10-15 years of seniority on account of age, i'm sorry to say that i have never met a more arrogant owner/host at any restaurant across the world! all that i can say is that he momentarily forgot that in india it's atithi devo bhava. most importantly, he was too busy justifying that he needs to run a business without even comprehending that we totally support that stance! to add to that the food options here are very limited and the young pada behind the bar too had limited experience in making or recommending cocktails.

was here last night and what a gem of a find this was...
the service is great the ambiance of a village tavern, the live music was amazing a perfect place for a boozy jazz filled evening.

the beef and potatoes were scrumptious but the scene stealer was the seafood glass noodles, it was an explosion of freshness and flavour simply soul food.

they showed the fa cup finals on the big screen and were extremely courteous and served with a smile.

in my 15 years of goan holidays this is one of my true finds...

lovely ambience, good staff, authentic food. liked the place very much. off beat and peaceful with great music.

went there on a late wednesday night. i was the only customer at that time. got to know that they get busy on mondays.

anyways coming to food, they had very few selections, mostly goan and some continental. i was hoping for some spanish foods. overall quality was decent. i loved the goan calamari fries, must try.

for future customers - figure out what kind of environment you want. for high energy dancing vibe - mondays. for chilled out quiet romantic vibe - other days. check with the restaurant before visiting.

went there on a monday night which is also a jazz night. this place gave me nightmares just by the number of people who were stuffed in this there even in covid times. zero social distancing, a messy short-staffed bar with long queues, tables placed extremely close to each other and to top it all people dancing in an anyways over crowded space. couldn't stand to stay there and we just left the place as soon as we could.

ordered one item in the beginning i.e. fish fingers. they were frozen food fish fingers, fried and served with some dressing. went here with high recommendations from friends. didn't expect such a place to serve frozen food. if i wanted to eat frozen food fish fingers, i would make them at home. the taste was also not good. didn't feel like ordering anything else after that. the virgin bahama mama was good.

beautiful ambience with great live music. the portuguese aesthetics are fab. white sangria is a must have. the food was up to the mark too.

had been here with few colleagues after a conference. food was good, music was too loud. the bad part was they did not accept amex

great music - terrible terrible service - heard so much about the place but really disappointed- many mistakes in the orders taken - many reminders required - food was below average- asked to see richard but guess he was busy and chose not to meet us on a relatively slow evening- tells you about customer service

the food - this was so bland that after the starters i just didn’t wanna risk ordering any mains or desserts...

the seating - the expectation was to squeeze in together on a tiny bench for 2 people which was so uncomfortable.... so when booking please request a table with chairs and not benches.

not family friendly as the crowd was more of youngsters who enjoyed smoking and drinking, so wouldn’t recommend families with kids.

the ambience - is chilled out and dark and we did go for the monday jazz night which was pleasant .... is it the best in goa ??? wouldn’t be able to vouch for that cause honestly i had nothing to compare this to in goa.

service - nothing special.

value for money - for 4 bland starters and 4 alcoholic drinks i paid close to 3000 bucks so i was not happy.

we went to this place today. the owner with his fake american was abusive and obnoxious. called us “f... delhi indian“. disgusting. and the same guy was sucking up to some foreigners allowing them to drink while snatching our drinks away. never felt so discriminated in my own country. i advise any self respecting indian to be exercise discretion while going to places like this that disrespect indian. for me, i will never go to this hole in the wall, one day a week (monday) wonder ever again.

quite disappointed with the place. went here for live music which was supposed to start at 9 but didn’t start until 9.30. the drink was great but the staff was rude.

i just gave one star for the sake of giving some credit. we went to this place only after reading some blogs stating that it is one of the best place for jazz and good food. when we reached the location it was far away from busy calangute area. we had some doubts regarding it being good. still we went ahead thinking maybe it will surprise us. we started by ordering chicken spring roll. it was aweful as no chicken we found in there. now let me come to the music. it was a jazz monday. i think who ever had earlier reviewed on it having some good music was either drunk or really had some bad taste in music. or maybe they were paid for it. i am very sorry to say that the place needs to revamp in a big way to meet standards as mentioned in blogs (https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.gqindia.com/content/best-live-music-venues-near-me-in-goa-panjim-candolim-morjim-anjuna-benaulim-vagator-baga-beach/amp/).
