café lakeside

after finishing a tiring day if trek to naini peak and some sightseeing i wanted to fill my hungry tummy with some gastronomical goodies while relaxing in a comfortable restaurant. i noticed this restaurant which had a good and clear view of the lake and had a funky vibe to it. i had to wait for sometime to heat a seat at the kake facing position, as it was crowded at that time in the evening. after i got a seat, i settled into my position and ordered a hot talumein soup, as it a bitty chilly after having rained during the day. the cafe has a wifi for customers that i used to book my train ticket for next day. the soup was very tasty. the view from the lake is very romantic and i am sure couples will love it. but it only has a few stool based seats that face the lake, the rest of the seating is inside the cafe. the seating is very comfortable and loud funky music was playing. i enjoyed the soup slowly, as i wanted to relax and spend some time there. after that i settled into a comfortable sofa seat inside the cafe and ordered a butter chicken with roti. what better than this to satiate the hunger pangs of a punjabi :-) the butter chicken was lip smackingly delicious, the rotis were all 'phooli hui tawa rotis', the onion and green chutney were great accompaniments to the butter chicken. i devoured the chicken and four rotis with lots of chutney and onions. the quantity was generous.
mind you the rates are on the higher side than other cafes around. but it is more than worth it for the great view, cleanliness, great food, good service, funky vibes and comfortable seating.
i will highly recommend this cafe.

went to this place after seeing a great rating of 4.9 but was completely disappointed. service is unbelievably slow. the staff doesn't attend, don't even handover the menu and there was no food after 40 mins of waiting and 3 reminders to the staff. the staff was completely indifferent when we asked to leave without getting the food.

i’ve been to cafe lakeside twice and had an excellent experience both times. the food was great and the service was quick. on my first visit i had a veg sizzler and a lemon soda. on my second visit, i tried the veggie pizza, manchow soup and some fried rice and curry. everything i tried was very well made. the cafe itself is very well done up, with good music and warm lighting. cafe lakeside is all you’d want when looking for a place to dine in the hills :)

the pesto was basil infused alfredo. the pizza was bland, dry and unseasoned. sorry experience.

such a cute little cafe in mall road. beautiful view and lovely restaurant. was very difficult to get a table , finally on the last day of our trip we managed to eat there. food was good and priced ok.

this place is great! atmosphere is chill and cool but the staff is also really friendly. they know what they’re doing and what they’re talking about, and you can tell making the customers happy is their main priority. food is pretty good with some twists, and for their prices it’s 100% worth it.

the best part is the view of the restaurant.

cafe lakeside is one of a kind restaurant in nainital. not only is the view breathtaking but also the food is par excellence. the service is quick, the staff happy to help with recommendations. the music is very well curated and suits the vibe of the place.
it was truly the highlight of my trip to nainital. i would recommend anyone travelling that side to give this place a visit.

i love love loved the vibe of the cafe! it’s so warm and the view is just breathtaking. the hot chocolate is a must have (gets even better if it’s raining/cold)! food was yum can’t wait to try more things on the menu! the staff is so professional, overall a very welcoming experience. can’t wait to be back!

cafe lakeside is my go to place when i am in nainital. visiting this cafe uplifts my mood. it is so perfectly located with a beautiful and relaxing view. their music is a perfect mood setter. the food is super satisfying, my favourites are tostado (a must try), burritos, pizza, paneer khurchan, peach ice tea, fish steak.
you can grab a book and order their delicious hot chocolate and relax.

the owner and the staffs there are so welcoming and polite. thank you for such a wonder experience.

the menu is exciting, the service is good. it is undoubtedly one of the best cafés in nainital.

we randomly came across this cafe overlooking lake. a nice place to chill and enjoy naini’s beauty over food and drinks.

we have ordered manchow soup, hot chocolate and pizza which complemented the cold weather and view.

they have cookie jar on their desk, which we had asked for some on our way back and it was really good.

they also provide heaters for cold weather.

it was our first visit to this restaurant. we were too hungry. ordered drums of heaven and veg steak burger. drums of heaven was too spicy and burger was never served. we kept waiting for half an hour patiently to hear that our burger has been burnt by mistake. on complaining to the manager, he was so calm to hear. we had to return to our hotel empty stomach as it was 10pm already and other restaurants were getting closed. very poor service management .

visit for the sake of ambiance not for food. we ordered for fish & chips, the outer layer so thick & fish was so thin in inner layer that you’ll only end up having only breadcrumbs. avoid ordering fish & chips. however, barbecue pizza & watermelon margarita was nice. overall an okay experience.
