cafe ylang ylang is a classic. the food they serve is always above par. the juices are so fresh, and even a bit pulpy, while the buffet spread is intimate yet varied and well thought of.
moreover, i like that breakfast can be eaten beside the pool, or with a view of it. unlike other similar hotels that serve standard breakfast fare, cafe ylang ylang brings the service two notches up, by serving korean and japanese cuisine to start the day.

we stayed at the hotel and the room came with a complimentary breakfast buffet. i loved how the choices weren't overwhelming and that they had really tasty garlic rice (yes kanin is life hahaha). there were only two things that i didn't like: the pancakes (quite bland) and the waffles (dense and not buttery), but overall i had quite an enjoyable experience. also kudos to the staff / waiters who were very attentive and accommodating. would definitely come back and try their lunch and dinner buffet!

i loved the quality of the food served. the appetizers were too beautiful to eat. i also liked the shabu-shabu which included fresh sea cucumbers, abalone mushroom and shrimp. the desserts were also commendable. it was a food heaven. we came there on a saturday lunch. the ambience was good. there wasn't any lines in the stations, so i didn't feel stressed at all. it was a great dining experience.

always the best option if you're looking to eat buffet. their food taste is consistent and the selections never feel boring. plus they have a lot of promotions with credit cards or coupon sites so it helps if you wanna throw a small gathering without digging a hole in your pocket.

tried the lunch buffet here and overall it was ok. there were different types of cuisine that were cooked well, just what you'd expect in a buffet.

one thing i noted was that the tables were a little crammed together. the area is not very spaceous especially when you're at the buffet table. there were some items that i wasn't able to try since the dishes weren't refilled immediately.

overall the food where presented aesthetically pleasing, some dishes weren't up to par in my opinion (baked clams, baked tahong, some shrimp dishes).

the only thing which made me rate them this low is the long lines per station. although, a good thing that it's organized. but, then again it consumes your eating time. food was great, from the sashimi to tempura, steaks, and desserts you'll love it.

we celebrate my hubby's birthday here.

ambience was nice. the staff are friendly and polite. when it comes to the food, i recommend must try the steak!!!

it just so happened that only few choices in seafood area (or maybe i expect to much), also in desserts.

but nevertheless, we enjoyed our lunch 😁

i just got married and spent our first day of honeymoon here, the food was awesome! the ambience was also nice and romantic. i especially fell inlove with their lumpia dish it was super crunchy and the sauce to go with it was a mild spicy sweet flavor. the servers were very corteous! the desserts were delicious!! its just a perfect resto :)

the japanese and korean sections were a let down. not sure if it was because it was a sunday evening when we went for dinner the reason as to why the japanese section looked like a hurricane came and destroyed, it did not look appetizing at all. i even asked for maki handrolls, chef said no more ingredients!?! there wasn’t much to choose from at the korean section. though we loved the indian section (we know our indian food) so good job to the chef! meat/grill section was okay too. we don’t eat pork so other sections were okay.

hope the restaurant will widen their choices for those non-pork eaters. presentation wise of the sections, def needs improvement for a resto who does not allow customers wearing slippers to dine.

overall, it was somewhat an okay experience for the price we paid for.

my experience of cafe ilang ilang on a tuesday night was pretty good. the carving station was strong. the meat section was strong. get the meat grilled. it tastes better. i was blown away by the barbecued beef ribs. the best beef ribs i have ever had. i kid you not.

the japanese station was weak. the quality of their sashimi can be improved. understatement of the century --but i was so happy with the meat section i won't dwell on the negative.

the rest of the stuff, to be honest, i was too full to try. the dessert station was fair. nothing spectacular about the dessert station, very little variety.

the ambiance was good. it was generally quiet and not busy because it was a week night. the service crew was attentive. but they closed pretty early. last call for buffet was 10pm.

all in all, i was pretty satisfied. it's a yes for me.

one of the things i look forward to when staying at a hotel is the breakfast the following morning. cafe ilang-ilang had a huge spread for us when we woke up. they had everything from breads, cereals, different kinds of milk, pancit, arroz caldo, sausages, bacon, pasta.. they even had siomai! i honestly loved the food there! for p1450 per head, i thought it was sulit. i even took advantage of the different juices and unlimited coffee. service was superb too.
