i previously hadgreattimes at cafe centraal, but today the service was atrocious....20 minute wait for a couple bloody marys that arrived to my table without straws. no more smoking indoors which was disappointing but inevitable. love the food and the atmosphere though, so it won't stop me from coming back....just a disappointing experience.

fun place,greatfood. food is outstanding with a lot of selection! service was reallygreatexcept when i asked about a food allergy in one of the sauces, they never got back to me. that was a little disappointing, but not disappointing enough to stop us from coming back. we will definitely be back!

the frites in a cone are agreatapp. & the choices of sauces are tasty. i had the buttermilk chicken sandwich which was wonderfully decadent. our server was attentive and restrooms well maintained. don't recall a bad experience here.

love it here, original food, always yummy, specialty bloody mary's, i had the bloody maria - made with tequila and lime juice - yum! it was spicy but delish. brunch here is fantastic, cheesy yummy skillets, andgreatdrinks (they will serve your underage kids to state laws! which is an added plus for me!) overall good eats whatever you get! the blackberry turkey sandwich is the best turkey sandwich i've had in my life!

had the jalepeno bbq burger and it was delish, looooveed the pistachio creme brulee. was very busy but the food wasgreatand beer was good. server was extremely nice and attentive.

i had dinner and had the club sandwich. it was good, but not as good as i had hoped. the fries were hot and fresh and that is always agreatthing!

favorite brunch spot. milwaukee has a lot ofgreatbrunch spots. which isgreatbecause i love good brunch. that being said, the place i go to most often is cafe centraal. partly becuase they also service it on saturdays. i have been going here for a couple years and have never been disappointed. the food and service is constantly good and they have agreatbeer selection. i have no problem recommending this or the cafe hollander establishments.

lunch at centraal. enjoyed lunch at cafe centraal on 9/12 with my wife. we both opted for burgers off the menu (i had the bay view, she had the centraal). both were well seasoned and cooked a perfect medium rare as requested. the "frites" that came with them were good whith the dipping sauce we ordered, but seemed to be a boughten product and not hand cut. still, i did'nt remember reading on the menu that they were hand cut so really no big deal. the south african chicken peanut soup was a real winner withgreatflavor and substance. service at lunch was pleasant with a smiling waitress but a bit to casually paced for lunch that was not very busy.

great time and really, really good food. our first and definately not last our trip to cafe centraal was full of pleasant surprises. i had some family and friends (all who have never been to the cafe centraal before) meet here to celebrate my wifes birthday. we were greeted by the hostess and was accomodating to us when we asked to have at least 8 seats at the bar. our barkeep also greeted us kindly and started to suggest us our cocktails or one of the many many beers in house. we ordered four apps which were all fantastic. corquettes, frites cone, calamari and the scotch egg. food was hot, presentedgreat, flavorful and good sized portions for the $. anothergreatpart of centraal is that it is smoke free and agreatplace to people watch! our group was really happy and we will all be back.

great food - awesome brunch. i would definitely recommend cafe centraal - the service is excellent, the food isgreatand the brunch is good. i like the non-smoking aspect, there is a back area outside to smoke - but if you're eating do you really want a side of nicotine from someone else's table?

great placegreatservice. i was at cafe centraal this last tuesday and i had wonderful time. it was a friends birthday and it went off without a hitch. the food was delicious. i strongly suggest their meatloaf...i find myself craving it! our server, amanda, was incredibly entertaining and knowledgeable. she made our night! i would stronly suggest cafe centraal for dinner, any night of the week!
oh and they havegreatbeer too!!!

food needs to improve. this new place did agreatjob with the interior. the interior is large, spacious and airy with lots of natural light. i admit, i was anxious to visit and try this new restaurant in my neighborhood since i saw them start building the interior out..

their menu looked very interesting and my table (6 of us) decided to try a variety of different things and share each dish. needless to say, nobody from my party was impressed and only one person from the group finished their plate. everyone sampled each others dishes and the verdict was unanimous. this place has a ton of potential but they might want to scrap the menu and start from scratch.

this location and setup is perfect for a new bayview restaurant.
