food was ok. service was terrible. long waits for everything from menus, to cocktails, and food. the menu issmallto begin with 6 entrees and they ran out of all the mains we ordered. so we ended up ordering more apps and a couple of mains that were still available.
there were just so many mishaps that it was a really disappointing saturday night dinner.

our journey begins  at an old factory backyard called evergreen brick works. a factory that once heard many metals clinks, was now buzzing with giggles and chatter of people who were enjoying the warmth of the sun on their skin and indulging in thesmallpleasures of life.amidst this beautifully dilapidated, abandoned yet lively structure was a quaint little restaurant. with closely nested tables, cafe belong made everyone feel like they belonged to a single great conversation - often about the delicious looking dish on your neighbors table, while  man’s best friend, furry and bright, could be seen basking in the bright sunlight to accentuate what this day was all about.

this restaurant is amazing. the menu is fairlysmallbut everything is fresh and cooked with care. all the ingredients are locally sourced and much of it purchased from the farmers market that happens right next to the cafe on the weekends. i went in on a monday afternoon, it was nice and quiet at that time, great for a leisurely lunch.

went for a birthday dinner. food took a while to come out (30-35 minutes) after ordering the entrees. entree selections weresmall-maybe 7 or 8- ordered the fish and chips. for the price i paid for this dish i expected a little more. came with 3smallpieces of fish that didn't taste like anything but the fries were decent though. my date had the pork dish, presentation was nice but againsmallportions for the higher price tag and it was overcooked.
will not be going back anytime soon although the brunch menu may be worth a trip.
also, its in the middle of no where (weird stretch of road by the highway) and you need to pau for parking.

disappointing. i had dinner at cafe belong last night. the portions are tiny! i know the owner is from jk wine bar which had a tapas menu. so i'd suggest that, if they intend to serve suchsmallportions, they position the menu as a tapas menu and lower the prices accordingly. but to serve as an entree a scallop dish that has only one scallop, or a quail dish that serves only half a quail, is kind of silly. we left hungry, but we'd paid $90 for dinner. additionally, the service was inattentive, the waiter was not fully informed about the menu and there was no 'fish of the day' available when we asked. the venue is interesting, but i won't be returning.

huge dissapointment. we were nine of us at brunch. took forever to get service. when the food came it was over seasoned - very salty. portions were ridiculously small. very little choice in menu. eggs and pancakes were undercooked, the slab of bacon was almost entirely fat - unappealing. bowls were so deep it made it uncomfortable to eat with a fork and knife. extremely overpriced for brunch, portions sosmallwe left still hungry. never left a restaraunt before without an impression of at least some redeemable qualities, until now. love the brickworks. here is hoping for either an overhaul of this restaraunt or another eatery to take its place.

the cafe should be called be long waiting. went for brunch today and waited an hour for eggs and a pancake, and then paid asmallransom for it. no value here, and the place was half empty. no wonder. better to go skating and by a hot dog from the vendors beside the ice. what a bad experience.

better restaurants in toronto. the service and food were terrible! food was served cold to four of the diners. fish dish was bland and lukewarm. french fries had a box of salt poured on them! and they have the nerve to charge 4.00 for asmallbasket of bread and butter. save yourself the trip and don't go to cafe belong.
