during my childhood days, i can't count how many times we dine at this place, especially the cafe adriatico 1900 (closed). feeling nostalgic about the place,orderedthe famous adobo. and the taste, texture is still the same. i miss the
menu at 1900 specially the cuscus, but still satisfied with the experience here again.

i love the unassuming feel of the resto. my friendorderedembutido while i had the chicken ala pobre. i preferred the former though. i was looking for a sauce to compensate for the dryness of the chicken. that being said, the service was great, very attentive waiters. and the crowd was decent, too.

travelled to manila just to have breakfast here. ground floor was too crowded so we stayed in the second floor overlooking remedios circle. very cozy interior but a little bit dark due to the choice of wooden furniture.orderedvigan longganisa and tocino. both were excellent. side salad was fresh. if you are not a fan of salted egg on your salad, you may request for a regular egg instead.

great food! and the service is always on point. we arrived late in the evening and the quality of the food and service were great.orderedthe beed tenderloins, gamba (favorite), and french onion soup. all great tasting and flavorful. price is decent, and worth every penny, especially when you have the late night cravings.

iorderedthe filet mignon and my wifeorderedthe carbonara. i asked for it medium, they gave it to me rare. the carbonara was bland. the guard walked away and street kids came up to us while eating.

if you’re looking for healthy menu options, cafe adriatico is the one for you. their menu offers a variety of food from salad to seafood. we found this beaut sitting at the corner of remedios circle with a rather hispanic feel home.

weorderedthe prawns thermidor and chicken a la kiev and it was worth every penny!

tried it here this morning. i appreciate the attentiveness of the crew. they're quick to assist. weorderedthe tapa baka (for my hubby, i don't eat meat), spiced sardines plus french onion soup (i loooove soup). all were served at close interval with the coffee. i personally prefer that.

the food was nicely plated. you could say it's well-prepared. the quality is also good. the soup was really yummy! 😊 though, generally, pricing is on the high side. ambiance is homey. it's low ceiling, decorated with photos of some ladies and gentlemen. 😁 but a little rustic and has that old roadside lodge feel too.

overall, we're satisfied. we're recommending this restaurant.

tip on parking:
if you're coming from the right side of the restaurant, such that it's on your left, you may take a left in front of the restaurant or take a full turn around the fountain rotunda. there's ample space in that area.

came here with friendsorderedmushrooms melt which apparently came side salad. however side salad was basically garnish of lettuce and onion rings. my friends received incorrect drinks too

i love how the place itself is very homey despite being in the middle of the busy streets of manila. they have amazing service, but on top of it all is their very comforting food. my friend and iorderedtheir baby squid pasta (i'm not sure if it's still on their menu) and their empanada with hot choco. we'd definitely recommend both!!

steaks are good, chef's salad the usual. but got disappointed with the drinks... weorderedguyabano and cranberry juice but it tastes like water with sugar. few bucks are wasted. we just hoped weorderedhouse water instead.

for the past days of having a depressing life at work, an unlikely tantrums towards my boyfie, and literally nauseatic tuesday afternoon, i decided to took off from work yesterday. though having a bad time with me, still my boyfriend invited me to an early breakfast at this cafe for a very special day.

just around the remedios circle, i think? this very cozy cafe houses vintage details that really catched my senses. approaching the entrance made me feel like entering an old little house with hanging greens and some flowers, remembering my deceased aunt's yellow bells outside our ancestral house. entering the cafe, we were approached by this beautiful lady and we were given seats beside the window, perfectly we could see where we parked our elie.

not so much on the menu though, we justorderedhis favorite american breakfast and mine was pancakes with bacon of course.

american breakfast included 2 whole eggs, few bacon strips, slice of red gigantic tomato, bread and butter. just the usual american breakfast, loved for its bacon strips hehee.

my pancakes included 4pcs soft thin pancakes with 2 bacon strips on the side and a merengue butter which delighted my tongue so much plus the sweet syrup on the side.

americano coffee was included in the meal served with creamer in a cute packed container. i think it's imported because i cannot understand the words ahahah german or deutsch maybe. ahaahaha... i think i should learn another language!

... and i think this cafe serves the alta de sociedad people of malate, classy english speaking lolos and lolas... lolo assisting lola through the door, soft spoken words of the old, and kind gestures of lolo. wonderful place indeed! on the other side though are couple talking about million pesos and politics and the likes ahahha (kami nang chismoso) and here we are like gusgusin couple in washed shirts and shorts... hehe

all in all, the food presentation was great, our meal is tasty and delightful, service was good and ambiance was so perfect, my tantrums for my boyfie easily fade away.

2 years later , i am back here aug 31, 2018, today; i was invited to the ljc festival of flavors event to taste 2 new dishes in addition to their menus. on sept.5,2018 the chicken karaage and espresso panna cotta will be added to their menu.

my verdict:

chicken karaage
(morsels of japanese-style fried chicken with honey mustard and teriyaki sauce; served with rice and cabbage salad)

i love japanese food, but i am not a fan of chicken karaage, everytime we have this dish (which my boyfriend truly loves and is always included in our order in every japanese resto we visit) - i always have the feeling of having too much oil, but i was surprised that the chicken karaage served here was not oily at all.

the boneless chicken meat was tender and juicy. the fusion of flavors in the teriyaki sauce was awesome! thumbs up! i also liked the honey mustard sauce, but i think i like it better if its a little sour; so what i did was drizzle some lemon on my chicken and some on my honey mustard sauce, perfect!

been to their gateway branch but the feel of adriatico's malate branch is different. iorderedthe chicken ala kiev as per the suggestion of my favorite blog (chuvaness) and dear it was so gooood!! the butter oozing from the chicken when u cut it, yummy!! dont forget to squeeze the lemon on the chicken coz it will really bring out the flavor. i hope iorderedrice instead of the usual mashed potato as im pretty sure i'll enjoy it better. i alsoorderedsuman sa lihiya and chokolate eh for dessert. will definitely go back here.

love how their menu has various food to choose from. my favorite from what weorderedwas the chicken ala kiev. it's very juicy and tender in contrast with its crisp exterior. the squid tactics is also memorable with its poignant sweet and chili sauce. sunrise tequila was perfect when you're looking for a very light booze. it tasted like summer. however, the long island iced tea was a backstabbing bitch with its gin very much kicking you in the head (i'm not a drinker obviously). toffee sansrival was a 5. my sweet tooth gave up on how sweet it is. finally, i was kinda disappointed with their kesong puti. it was like tasting a frozen milk. i couldn't taste any cheesiness from it.

we went here monday night, 11pm-ish. we easily got a seat in the middle but transferred beside the windows for a much better lighting (lol, for pictures of course!) the place was smaller than what i expected and they have an open kitchen.

my dadorderedus tenderloin steak cafe adriatico style. it may come with rice or mashed potato and mixed veggies. he had it well done. the meat was still easy to chew and the sauce that comes with it is similar to butter.

while my brotherorderedtenderloin tips sauté. its placed in an oblong shaped plate so the serving was big. my brother loves this so much, especially the sauce. so i highly recommend this for kids ?

iorderedpolpetta spaghetti. this comes with 4 regular sized meatballs that compliments very well with the pasta. the pasta alone is bland but i do believe this was purposely done so that the overall flavor is not overpowering. the meatballs are very tasty, just by slicing it half you'll get a very flavorful smell. meatlovers should definitely try this!

lastly we had chocolate decadence for dessert. and yes this is one of their best sellers. chocolate is not very sweet, even the coating on it. very chocolatey! highly addictive! yum!

overall the dishes was worth the price. when done, our plates are almost clean lol! (except for my brother who didnt eat the veggies on his plate!) we'll definitely be coming back again to try their other dishes. till then,
