simply hard to beat. while i understand the need to support the small restaurants - i really really do-

but i have to say -cactusclub (and milestones) are just extremely hard to beat. they have the je ne sais quoi that leaves you feeling relaxed and refreshed and at home. the decor is a little dark and masculine and ultra modern but you still feel comfortably and at home.

i had iron chef rob feenie's bbq duck clubhouse sandwich with a ginger breeze drink (*blackberry mint spritzer on ice type thing) and i was completely satisfied and highly recommend!cactusis a chain but if you read more on them, they are a canadian owned chain with good values, using sustainable practices and they give back to the community. they are a good bc owned business and i would support any bc owned business that follows acactusclub model.

service good
served within 15 minutes.
bathrooms, great!
atmosphere, great!
food great!
people great.

thanks!

not a fan, but it has gotten better. i have never been much of a fan of thecactusclub cafe on douglas, however i have had to go there a few times recently and found a few items that i did not mind. i just wish the wait staff was not so ignorant. they are never friendly, they take forever to bring you water or drinks and always have attitude. my biggest problem with this place..... i went here to sit on the patio and have some drinks, it's a great location of that (when the sun is out) we ordered 2 bellini's and waited for them to come, about 30 minutes later we got our drinks and realized they were not the doubles we wanted.. not a big deal, we decided just to add a shot to each, simple solution. we flagged down our waitress and told her to bring us to vodka shots to add... problem fixed. not only did she bring us 2 shots of vodka like we asked, she brought us the most expensive vodka they had....... our bellini's ended up costing a fraction of what the shot cost! just for that very rude move, we left immediately and she ended up costing herself a good tip... oh yha made the bar money but not herself.... not a smart move.
i do not think i will be going back here again on my own accord.

the setting atcactusclub cafe is a 5, the foods and drinks are 4-4.5, but the attitudes of some of the serving staffs are horribly low. some of them are extremely mean and rude, but most of the serving staffs are very nice especially the young lady named j. anna. a few sad people won't lower my attitude toward other hardworking staffs here.

i've been tocactusa few times many years before but i haven't gone back until recently. i'm not quite sure why i always avoided going there, because this time around, it blew my socks away! the signature sangria was exactly what i needed on a friday night. the calamari was pleasantly flavourful and a very generous serving. i was craving fish tacos and there it was on the menu so i gave it a try. i didn't think two tacos would be so filling. it was served with side chips and with an assortment of sauces. the potato skins were delicious too. i will not forget to dine there next time!  apart from the food, they're most secondly known for their luxurious washrooms.

exceptional takeout.cactusclub rules. i never eat here because we have a million wonderful independently-owned restaurants that serve food of way better value in victoria, but once every few years i feel nostalgic for highschool birthday parties and i want to be able to make a million substitutions and know that my food will be up in 8 minutes, and as i ordered it. we got takeout tonight and had hot wings, the bandara salad, and a burger and fries, and everything was delicious, and packed so neatly in perfect containers and then those perfect containers were packed so neatly into acactusclub tote bag. and yeah, you are paying too much money. the burger is 16.25, and you can go to brasserie l'ecole and get theirs for 18, but you're paying for those special washrooms, and those really thick paper napkins, and those really sturdy takeout containers, and sometimes it's worth it.

also a shoutout to parkades: some dingus included a comment about how hard it was to find parking in his restaurant review. ride a bike. or park in a damn parkade. since september evening parking has been free after 6pm, and the view street parkade is around the corner.

it's a chain, what did you expect?. i would never recommendcactusclub to someone. way overpriced for terrible portions, and overly pretentious. it's not likecactusclub is that great. if you slick your hair back and wear sunglasses often, then feel free to get tipsy here and spend more money than you should because you think this is what nice dining is supposed to be like.

if you like food priced appropriately for its quality, go elsewhere.

had never been to acactusclub before since there are none in my area. i ordered the prawn spegettinni and was quite impressed. my wife had a chicken breast dinner and hers too was very tender and flavorful. both of us are not "big eaters" so can out of there satisfied as the portions were not overly large. staff was friendly but slow on refilling our drinks. i will try acactusclub again.

decadent ravioli..mmmm. love the decadent butternut squash ravioli with prawns and yummy buttery sauce... i was full after this meal. doesn't look like much on the plate, but once you start eating it you realize just how many delicious, quality ingredients there are in this dish. my favourite to order as a special treat. thanks, cactusclub :)

waitressing skill 101. location: easy to find since it is located on one of the busies street downtown.

parking: very hard to find free parking for dinner.

food: mediocre at best. my peking duck burger bun was soggy when it came to me, and wings were one pound of bones with barely any meat on it.

environment: really well laid out. spacious, clean bathroom, good calm lighting and choice of art. nice to see a bar on the other side of the restaurant.

price: too much for so little. this place is meant as a place where you bring friends or boyfriend or girlfriend to impress on them that you can afford it. just like irish times...so superficial.

service: the meat and potatoes....hah....

first of all, when someone tells you that the wings was not that great and why it was not that great, as waitress, you don't say "yep." and then walk away. (i used to be a waiter so don't tell me that i don't know how customers are like)

as soon as she did that, that just set the tone of my whole experience withcactusclub.

(sarcasm) they should hire more under 20 kids to serve, especially ones that don't have any social skills except flirting. it was very comical to receive it especially for my friend that was there. my buddy later told me it felt more like a strip club, like dancers vying for your attention and money.

i guess thecactusclub isn't just for this old timer like me.

went on canada day and the place was packed. the hostess informed us that it had been non-stop service. despite how busy they were both the waitstaff and kitchen staff were absolutely on the ball. food was well cooked and our server was great to inform us and apologize for any delays, understandably so and only for bar items ordered. thankscactusclub for maintaining good service and food throughout a busy day.

it's canada day so i decided to take my family here. i always come here with my family and friends but today i was not impress at all. there service has always been very good but today service was poorly done. we sat there more then 5min nobody came by. every body that work there would look at us and walked off. i feel that those who work there today just did not want to help there co-worker out or even be at work. i understand it's canada day so its busy but that's when u have more people on the floor.
anyways our server was very nice but she did not take our order, someone else did 10mins later. the food is always good we like our server, she had a smile and was friendly when she brought our food but she was extremely
overwhelm with how many table she had. by the time she check up on us we where done and wanted our bill. overal i still likecactusclub hoping this won't happen again. it just suck to sit there for that long and being ignore.

i have been meaning to go to the victoriacactusclub cafe for ages but the location at the corner of douglas and fort is not one i think of when thinking of where to get some food. i have been to the one at broadway and ash in vancouver a couple of times and always been impressed.   on saturday afternoon we were in beacon hill park for the photo part of daniels grad dinner and dance and when it finished we stopped at sheila's sisters place who offered to look after max so we could go eat.  i decided this was the day to go to thecactusclub. if i did not know the menu was largely created by rob fennie, i would not be going.   the restaurant has a 'party' feel to it, almost a red robin for more sophisticated 25-35 year old people without kids.   i ordered a three course tasting meal, though tasting is not what this was, they were really full portions.   the starter was fried wonton with chicken and then covered in a spicy sweet chill sauce.  it was more than big enough for the two of u

good times. went tocactuslast friday around 6:30 - 7. we where told it would be 25 mins for a table, sounded right for a friday nite. went for a walk around the block and came back wait 2 mins and a booth was ready. i ordered the mushrooom steak and my gf ordered the roast chicken. edamabe ?!? beans for appy. beans where good, not to salty (what else can u say) and both our mains where fantasic. every bit from booth plates where gone. the service was friendly and helpful but not annoy. any complaints about the way the girls look/dress/ wear makeup need to get a grip. u want ur food served by a rude beast with arm hair dragging in ur soup then go to spoons. like u didnt know what ur where getting ur self into when u went, suck it up, ur ugly and dont take it out on others.. hahaha
