the sunday night after live8, we headed into philly for dinner and a night of bar hopping at some of my favorite spots. having some of our phoenix friends along provided the perfect opportunity to show off old city. we began our evening with dinner at bud

i went to buddakan with my boyfriend and although it wasn't the most private or quiet of settings, it was one of the best restaurant experiences i've had. the servers were very friendly and professional, and the food was absolutely amazing.

excellent. we were with a large group to celebrate a wedding -- probably 10 of us including two children. the food, the atmosphere and the service were all excellent. the value for the money was also excellent. i highly recommend it.

11 times - 11 great events!. simply the best. whether it's nyc (a little dark downstairs), atlantic city or the original philly hot spot, we have never had a bad meal, service or table. just be sure to make reservations and ask for josh, our favorite server in philly.

outstanding! but whatever .... outstanding!
but whatever happened to the warm bread pudding wrapped in palm leaves? it was to die for! then they got rid of it....so sad.

asian fusion - very good and a bit pricey

we had the calamari salad, shrimp dumplings, jumbo shrimp, crab fried rice and beef dish. all very good and the crab fried rice never disappoints. not surprising that it was a bit pricey. the service was very good and a pleasure from begging to end.

while in phlidelphia, buddakan is a must stop. the environment is buddakan all the way (if you've ever been to the one in nyc). it's like a sanctuary! i tried the tuna pizza and was blown away. it was like tuna tataki on a beautiful pizza crust!

this is my favorite place by far to eat in philadelphia. my husband and i had the bento boxes. we were able to try each other's, and neither one of us could say anything negative. it was so delicious! we will be back!

quality of food = 4.5, portion size = 2, value = 2.  buddakan is an experience.  the food is beautifully prepared and immaculately presented, but it is pricey and the portions are very small.  i used to go 2-3 times per year and would often end up hitting the cart around the corner for a few pretzels or kielbasa afterwards to fill up.

love asian fusion food and had been meaning to try buddakan for a while! for a starter we ordered the dim sum selection which had 12 dumplings- 1 of each type for each of us- chicken, spinach, carrot and prawn and ginger. they were all delicious. we each went for quite different entrees but we're delighted when it all arrived as it was great for sharing- i got the black bean scallops which had beautiful massive scallops and lots of fresh greens in a lovely black bean soy sauce, my sister got the lobster fried rice which was lovely and my dad went for the black pepper beef which was really tangy! it was all really tasty. washed back with a spanish red wine, the bill came in at 200 including tip. it is a fine dining experience with great ambiance also! it's nearly on par with tao in new york.

definitely a fine dining restaurant, specially in terms of pricing and food. the food is well presented and staff is courteous. between the three if us we got a selection of dishes and each one was delicious. the kobe beef satay and the dumplings were exceptionally good. if price is not a criteria and you like asian food this place is definitely worth a visit.

buddakan came highly recommended from a friend & i now owe him. fantastic restaurant with low noise & very calm vibe. the food was adventurous & i loved everything served. wehad the dim sum sampler, kung pow mong fish, duck breast. dessert was the highlight, lemon tart & chinese donuts. definitely check out this place in philly. book early, we could only get 545 friday night 24 hrs in advance
