buddakan

great graduation lunch, a new favorite restaurant. i just graduated from middle school, but i am a practicing chef with an extremely established palette. i went to buddakan for my graduation lunch afterwards and it was one of my top 5 favorite meals of all time. i had the kobe beef sliders, the lamb chops, and the doughnuts. i can't say enough about these three courses, i'm happy i ordered all three. the kobe beef melted in my mouth and warmed my stomach in the most pleasant of ways. the lamb chops were grilled to perfection exactly how i ordered them and they had a wonderful crust of spicing on the outside. the doughnuts were a perfect end to the meal, and the sauces were elegant yet fun. i also tried my sister's ravioli and they were great. i can't even think of a better adjective to describe them because there is no description for the buzzing that they gave my tastebuds and the happy feeling that my emotions felt after eating them. even though it may be a little bit pricy, if you are looking for a fancy meal or and upper class dine, this is not nearly the top of the fancy food chain. there are much more places where you will, "pay for poo" as i say. (a phrase meaning paying a lot for something worth little.) buddakan was a great meal, and has now become a standard which i will further judge many meals by.

absolutely delicious. the fish here is incredible! i love extra rare tuna steaks, and the tuna was a beautiful ruby red - so flavorful! also, the chocolate bento box dessert was sinful, but worth every last bite.

had a very nice time here for our anniversary. had the vietnamese spring rolls and chicken dumplings to start. the rolls were outstanding. had the poached lobster, wife had the duck. both were excellent. skip the sides, and go with fried rice or noodles.

trendy but overpriced . save youroney and go to chinatown .

wonderful experience!!. i think some of the items are a little pricey but the environment is very cool, with interesting and very very tasty menu items.. i love the food and the service was great.

overall good dining experience. a bit pricey, sure, but the food has been consistently yum over the years and the atmosphere is delightfully over the top. i'm not wild about our boy s. starr, but i am glad this spot's in town.

great restaurant. went here while visiting friends in philly and thought everything was great, from the interesting menu to the polished service.

i love this place!. i went to philly back in november and this was my favorite place. the food was amazing and the atmosphere was wonderful. i can't wait to go back sometime.

#1 on fine dining?. this must be a mistake. buddakan is good, but it is not fine dining or even a semblance of fine dining. although #2 is fogo de chao. maybe its april fools' day....

a bit overrated. the atmosphere is wonderful and visually pleasing. can be extremely crowded and noisy.

however the food is just average. not fanstastic, especially if you are someone who dines out often. for the price the food is not as flavorful as it should be. don't get me wrong the food is edible, you however could save some money and have a more satisfying meal. you are clearly paying for the atmosphere.

good dessert, and decent appetizers....not sure if its worthy of being #1 in the city though...

not what it used to be. i used to love this restaurant, but quality has gone down

gluten-free, not so much. i called the restaurant ahead of time to verify they had a gluten-free menu. they assured me they had all the ingredients to modify my food. however, when i ordered off their gf menu, i was informed that it they simply remove the gf ingredients. this meant that my singapore noodles had no sauce. it was incredibly dry. moreover, ordering one of the other dishes seemed pointless as the meats would be bland, without most sauces. if you have celiac disease, or a gluten intolerance, i do not recommend buddakan.

love this place!! the lamb chops are to die for!! the shrimp & scallop spring rolls....deelish!! fried rice with lump crabmeat...yummy!! nice & fun environment!! good for first dates!!

had dinner loved it everything was perfect, but they need to something about the king crab dumplings they were not that good, to hard. i do not recommend.
