bub's burgers & ice cream

good, but not to die for. i would go again, but i am in no hurry.

elk. you have to try the elk burger. i know, i know, sounds sketchy, right? it is sooo good though. and elk meat is supposedly a healthier option. give it a try!

good burgers, attractive service. bubs serves up some tasty giant burgers and waffle fries. you can wash them down with a beer, all the while enjoying the scenery of the arts and design district.
one suggestion: avoid the hot dog. the dog itself tastes fine, however it comes on a giant bun (sub roll), which overwhelms the dog. if zacky's wasn't burned down i'd suggest going there for a dog.

i love the burgers at bubs, best around. juicy, perfectly seasoned, even the bun is toasted and buttered to perfection. just know in advance the service is hit or miss. one night their may be 2 customers in the dinning room, the same night next week ther could be an hour wait. we live next door and can tell you with 100% certainty it's always less crowded during rain. regardless of the wait time it's always worth it!

tasty burger. this was our first visit to a restaurant where adam richman from "man vs food" took a challenge. we didn't do the challenge, but we did have the settle for less ugly burgers. the wife says this was one of the best burgers she's ever had. i liked the bun with the buttery taste. a small place, especially when crowded, but it's worth the visit (if you can find parking within a couple of blocks).

friendly place, passable food. the kitchen takes a long time to get the food out, but the wait staff is very friendly and attentive, and the restaurant itself is a lively, fun place. (although the restaurant was freezing cold the day we were there.) the location cannot be beat -- right on the monon -- and the outdoor seating is great in season. the food? it's ok. the hamburger is tasty but certainly not very juicy, and the hot dog chili was merely passable. the fries are fries. you can get better burgers in indy at the tie dye grill or even scotty's.

first time there... and it was delicious! if you go... go early or after one. we went at lunch time and the wait was 32 minutes. once we were seated service was fast and wonderful! they do not rush you. we can't wait to try the elk burger next time. thumbs up!!

wife and i visited to see what all the fuss is about. i took on the big ugly and she did the not so ugly. their burgers are delicious! the waiter was cool as hell and very helpful. i can't wait to go back.

not bad. if you're going to eat the big ugly challenge, eat it fast. the burger is great, but when it gets cold, it's just another cold burger.

best burger in indianapolis? yes. i work not to far from bub's in carmel. the burger is phenomenal! there is something about how they season the beef. i usually have ketchup, mustard, and extra pickles (great pickles here) on my burger. i have not had the elk or a hot dog, because it is impossible for me to go in there and not get a burger! owner told me there will soon be a bub's in bloomington!

best burger. clearly the best burger in town, there's a reason the place is almost always packed. great for families or just adults, and the onion rings are top shelf!

i came all the way from san francisco and bub's did not disappoint!! loved the burger, the patio and the great and friendly staff! i will be back :)

one of indy's finest burgers. if you love burgers, this is a mandatory stop. great burgers, great shakes, fun atmosphere. tack on some sloppy waffles to your order! bring the family and then walk off all that fatty fun afterwards on the monon trail.

over-rated. my gf and i arrived on a nice day to walk on the monon and eat at bub's. not surprisingly it was busy, and were told we had a 45 min wait. no sweat. however, after being seated and having our order taken, another couple sat down beside us. they ordered, got their food, ate their food, and paid. then we got our food (>1 hour later). the burgers were good, but not great. the sweet potato waffle fries and onion rings were also a little above average, and the milkshake was very good. but it didn't make up for the abysmal service. when i mentioned to the waiter that we were very unhappy with the wait and having the other table basically lap us, he told us to come back a second time and ask for him by name, and he'd fix it then. yea right. overall the whole experience took 2 and 1/2 hours on a thursday night, which felt truly excessive for a burger joint.
