greatshrimpand calamari. i was skeptical because of the chain nature, but boy have i been missing out. great food all around. had the shrimpers heaven on two occasions, and it was great. calamari app was 9 out of ten, hard to find calamari done this properly. loud, great for kids, fast service, and fantastic views of the bay. close to the aquarium is a plus, and will ensure a return.

i went to the bubba gump monterey restaurant easter weekend. i ordered the surf n turf meal to go. the price came to around $55.00 i left a sizable tip. got back to the hotel, took 3 bites of my steak. as i put one of theshrimpin my mouth i noticed something weird. as i pulled theshrimpout it had a very long hair attached to it!! i immediately lost my appetite. i called the restaurant to report this and was given an email address to forward my receipt to. i stopped by the next day and was told i would receive a refund within 7 days. 2 weeks later nothing so i resent the email and called again. was told they would check into it. a few days later i received a refund of $32.00...wow really?

was looking forward to some seafood at this popular establishment, but was disappointed 😞, theshrimpsteamed in beer was so tasteless 😫 that evenshrimpfans in our group worked hard to try to finish , even some sauces could not salvage this dish 😏 , i had theshrimpmac and cheese which i thought was a risky combo but i did enjoy 😉, the salad dishes were sloppy pieces of chicken on a pile of lettuce, zero style and no imagination 😕 , the hamburger was not bad 😐 , service is as good and polite and we did get a visit from the manager which was appreciated.

went to a bubba gump in orlando which wasn’t that great but this one in monterey bay was mind blowing. we had a waterfront view as well. and the food was very very fresh. we went as a group of 16 people and the food was amazing. we tried all kinds ofshrimpthat night. the bucket ofshrimpwas the best. their nachos and dip was pretty great. their draft beers were pretty swell as well. totally worth visiting this place.

always a pleasure to eat here... while enjoying the cool breeze and fresh sea air. the bucket ofshrimpis awesome and not to forget the unique garlic bread

it's your typical themed overpriced chain resturant and i love it. sometimes a little cheesy place is good for ya and this satisfied that part of me. theshrimpand crab bisque was okay but the crab stuffedshrimpwas delicious. the service was really good.

i'm normally pretty fond of the kitschy atmosphere, and bar food, but the price at bubba gumpsshrimpcompany just doesn't add up. the food was mediocre at best, (which the exception of theshrimp- which was great). i ordered the ping pong pesto pasta, which was pretty good, but nothing special- and definitely not worth close to $18. it cost me close to $6 to add a caesar salad, which they prompt you when they take your order to get, but conveniently leave the price out of the conversation. for myself, my husband, and our son to have dinner it was $80.00. which i would have been completely fine with had the food been good, and the service great, but this wasnt the case. if you're going for the bar theme, price the menu accordingly. needless to say, it will be a long time before i visit again.

neat theme, pretty good meal. neat theme-based restaurant. didn't realize it was a chain before we entered (i try to avoid chains when eating during vacation - prefer to get and support the "local flavor" of a place). prices seemed high in general, but probably par for the location it is in - right on cannery row. if you don't want shrimp, options are limited but still there (shouldn't be surprised by this) and looked good. got a forrest gump quiz from the waitress and did pretty well - that was fun. we got twoshrimpdishes which were good. so a good, fun place, with good food, just perhaps a couple dollars per entree more than i would think is reasonable.

mediocre. i gave this place a positive vote. the service was good. the have a unique way of asking for service. there are two signs at your table. they are in the form of license plates. one sign says, "run forest run," which is an obvious reference to the movie and the theme of the restaurant. this means that everything is okay and you don't need anything. the other sign say, "stop forrest stop." this means that you need service. it actually works. no more trying to catch the waiter's eye or yell at him. neat idea. i wish the food matched the service. i had ashrimpsalsa dish. the salsa was bland. i tried to flavor it up with some of their hot sauce (no tobasco sauce) but it didn't work. the atmosphere is nice. it is right on the ocean with a good view of the monterey bay.

fresh and yummy food. the place is very crowded but the service is quite fast. i liked theshrimpappetizer, name is someting net. cajun souce is soo good. my husband tried fish and chips. we didn't enjoy it that much. the exterior fried layer was thick and too dark colored.

movie theme fun seafood !. great place for kiddies & adults young at heart. playful spirit, forest may visit your table and put a smile on your face. strap on a bib and be delighted by a bucket o' clams or the like. shrimp,shrimp& moreshrimpis the specialty, however everything is quite good. the views of the monterey bay are outstanding. prices are affordable. have some fun, kick back & chill out. :)
