i went to the bubba gump montereyrestauranteaster weekend. i ordered the surf n turf meal to go. the price came to around $55.00 i left a sizable tip. got back to the hotel, took 3 bites of my steak. as i put one of the shrimp in my mouth i noticed something weird. as i pulled the shrimp out it had a very long hair attached to it!! i immediately lost my appetite. i called therestaurantto report this and was given an email address to forward my receipt to. i stopped by the next day and was told i would receive a refund within 7 days. 2 weeks later nothing so i resent the email and called again. was told they would check into it. a few days later i received a refund of $32.00...wow really?

we spent close to a month on holiday in america and bubba gump was by far the worst dining experience we had the whole time. be warned that the service at thisrestaurantis abysmal, the food less than average and the price way over the top for what you're getting.

the guy on the door tried to make us wait outside for 45 minutes in the freezing cold december night with a small toddler, refusing to let us take a seat at the bar because they were "so busy". we went back to him after 30 minutes of trying to keep warm browsing a couple of tourist-trap souvenir shops and insisted we wait inside as it was frigid outside and after an exasperated loud stage sigh were ushered to find the bar completely devoid of people and therestauranthalf empty.

food was okay when it arrived but the drinks order took longer to arrive than the food and an incorrect meal was provided and we then had to wait for the correct meal to be made. the only positive was our waiter who could tell we weren't very happy and bent over backwards to try and make it better, he was a gem and it's a shame the venue lets him down.

the only other bubba gump we'd eaten at previously was in indonesia so naturally we expected one in its' home country to be better but that was far from the case. i recommend eating here if you enjoy burning your money as a pastime as you'll pay a premium for the name and get nothing to back the price tag up.

oreo milkshake. ok, i know this hardly a dish, but it's good enough to note. many things can be overpriced or tourist-y at arestaurantsuch as this, but this milkshake tastes fresh from the heavens. scoop after scoop of vanilla ice cream is tossed in a cup with some oreos and milk. then it's blended. it's simple, right? but, oh, is it tasty. the cup it very small, though, so you may feel the need to order two.....or three......or four......
