great shrimp and calamari. i was skeptical because of the chain nature, but boy have i been missing out. great food all around. had the shrimpers heaven on two occasions, and it was great. calamari app was 9 out of ten, hard to find calamari done this properly. loud, great for kids, fast service, and fantastic views of the bay. close to the aquarium is a plus, and will ensure a return.

cool atmosphere with emphasis on "everything shrimp" from forrest gump. the net catch appetizer tops the menu with soft beer steamed shrimp.

the themed restaurant it's really match with the movie, the signs over the table are a excellent idea. the food i loved it!!! one of the best restaurants in monterey

i went to the bubba gump monterey restaurant easter weekend. i ordered the surf n turf meal to go. the price came to around $55.00 i left a sizable tip. got back to the hotel, took 3 bites of my steak. as i put one of the shrimp in my mouth i noticed something weird. as i pulled the shrimp out it had a very long hair attached to it!! i immediately lost my appetite. i called the restaurant to report this and was given an email address to forward my receipt to. i stopped by the next day and was told i would receive a refund within 7 days. 2 weeks later nothing so i resent the email and called again. was told they would check into it. a few days later i received a refund of $32.00...wow really?

was looking forward to some seafood at this popular establishment, but was disappointed 😞, the shrimp steamed in beer was so tasteless 😫 that even shrimp fans in our group worked hard to try to finish , even some sauces could not salvage this dish 😏 , i had the shrimp mac and cheese which i thought was a risky combo but i did enjoy 😉, the salad dishes were sloppy pieces of chicken on a pile of lettuce, zero style and no imagination 😕 , the hamburger was not bad 😐 , service is as good and polite and we did get a visit from the manager which was appreciated.

went to a bubba gump in orlando which wasn’t that great but this one in monterey bay was mind blowing. we had a waterfront view as well. and the food was very very fresh. we went as a group of 16 people and the food was amazing. we tried all kinds of shrimp that night. the bucket of shrimp was the best. their nachos and dip was pretty great. their draft beers were pretty swell as well. totally worth visiting this place.

had a reservation at 5pm and got there at 4:45. party of 7. 6pm and still no call, they've been hurrying our table for the last hour and other people behind us have already gone before us. what's the use of making a reservation if they can't keep to it?

always a pleasure to eat here... while enjoying the cool breeze and fresh sea air. the bucket of shrimp is awesome and not to forget the unique garlic bread

we spent close to a month on holiday in america and bubba gump was by far the worst dining experience we had the whole time. be warned that the service at this restaurant is abysmal, the food less than average and the price way over the top for what you're getting.

the guy on the door tried to make us wait outside for 45 minutes in the freezing cold december night with a small toddler, refusing to let us take a seat at the bar because they were "so busy". we went back to him after 30 minutes of trying to keep warm browsing a couple of tourist-trap souvenir shops and insisted we wait inside as it was frigid outside and after an exasperated loud stage sigh were ushered to find the bar completely devoid of people and the restaurant half empty.

food was okay when it arrived but the drinks order took longer to arrive than the food and an incorrect meal was provided and we then had to wait for the correct meal to be made. the only positive was our waiter who could tell we weren't very happy and bent over backwards to try and make it better, he was a gem and it's a shame the venue lets him down.

the only other bubba gump we'd eaten at previously was in indonesia so naturally we expected one in its' home country to be better but that was far from the case. i recommend eating here if you enjoy burning your money as a pastime as you'll pay a premium for the name and get nothing to back the price tag up.

tried the shrimp tacos and burger. both we're perfect. tasty. i highly recommend.

it's your typical themed overpriced chain resturant and i love it. sometimes a little cheesy place is good for ya and this satisfied that part of me. the shrimp and crab bisque was okay but the crab stuffed shrimp was delicious. the service was really good.

i'm normally pretty fond of the kitschy atmosphere, and bar food, but the price at bubba gumps shrimp company just doesn't add up. the food was mediocre at best, (which the exception of the shrimp - which was great). i ordered the ping pong pesto pasta, which was pretty good, but nothing special- and definitely not worth close to $18. it cost me close to $6 to add a caesar salad, which they prompt you when they take your order to get, but conveniently leave the price out of the conversation. for myself, my husband, and our son to have dinner it was $80.00. which i would have been completely fine with had the food been good, and the service great, but this wasnt the case. if you're going for the bar theme, price the menu accordingly. needless to say, it will be a long time before i visit again.

there's always a wait, but the view is worth it. for those who prefer lighter less greasy, but seafood--try one of their salads.

neat theme, pretty good meal. neat theme-based restaurant. didn't realize it was a chain before we entered (i try to avoid chains when eating during vacation - prefer to get and support the "local flavor" of a place). prices seemed high in general, but probably par for the location it is in - right on cannery row. if you don't want shrimp, options are limited but still there (shouldn't be surprised by this) and looked good. got a forrest gump quiz from the waitress and did pretty well - that was fun. we got two shrimp dishes which were good. so a good, fun place, with good food, just perhaps a couple dollars per entree more than i would think is reasonable.
