amazing!!!!! outstanding service, fabulous food, wonderful ambiance! all of the wait staff helped to get us refills and make sure we were doing well. from thecrabdip appetizer to the pecan pie was a phenomenal time. thank you brother shuckers!!

service and food are at a very nice level of performance. they do not use many shortcuts and i love the vibe; a synergy of classy and laid back that gives the place a nice pulse. the corn andcrabchowder is ridiculous, there is just no reason something should taste that good. they close relatively early sometimes, but there is not much that i can say that isn't on the plus side with this place.

nice atmosphere. thecrabcakes are very good. mac & cheese side was nothing special & rather plain. the fish taco app. are 2 nice size tacos, could be a meal, were very tasty.

unpleasant surprise. hmmm...... my first negative review because i am generally pretty easy to please. as other reviewers, i had a restaurant.com coupon when i took my mom for a birthday dinner. we told the waitress about the coupon up front, and ordered a couple of drinks, a calamari app. (underdone, limp breading) and twocrabcake sandwiches (so-so). the meal came with bread (hard). the calamari came out quickly, but thecrabcake sandwiches took almost an hour. so,we would have left and been ok with the slow service and so-so food, but..... at the end of the meal the waitress (friendly enough girl) took the cert. number off the app on my phone. great new tool, by the way. but once it's validated -- that's it. your $25 is gone. she came back and told us that we couldn't use it because it was food only . no alcohol.
ok.... i've been all over myrtle beach with these certificates and that isn't a thing anywhere else we've gone, but ok. here is what got me. the waitress came back and apologized because this same thing happened to her 2 days ago! here are some logical choices for our waitress: a) tell us up front it's $50 minimum food only. at which time, we would have either stayed, but not gotten the app or the 2nd drink to push the bill for two ppl to $50 or left happily to come back another day with a party of four. or b) since we had already spent $38 on food, encourage us to get desserts or take somecrabsoup to go to make the $50 mark. she just closed out our check. so, i asked to speak to a mgr.(chris) to discuss the issue of the validated "used" certificate that didn't get used. he was very "fake" pleasant. you know the type.... smiled and said ma'am, but you knew he was thinking other words in his head. he had some logical choices too. a) to apologize, and give us 15% off the bill, as a courtesy. (i get e-mails from the restaurant that offer this or some other special, pretty regularly) b) offer us a dessert on the house (it was my mom's birthday, after all) c) offer us a free appetizer on a return visit. any of those choices would be good customer service, chris basically said, "too bad, so sad." he said to call restaurant.com and have them call the restaurant, and if he was there, he'd say we didn't use the cert. when i expressed that had a limited chance of working out, he actually said, "look, do you want my help or not? that's all i'm going to do." now brother shuckers probably doesn't care, because they were jammin' on a tues. night, but they certainly lost my business.

greatcrabcakes. we visited here on our last night in myrtle. they had live music that created a wonderfully relaxing ambiance. the service was excellent and thecrabcakes we legit. the other restaurants fried theircrabcakes; this place does them right and they were huge. we also had the ribs which we equally amazing! the mac and cheese was baked southern style and pretty good, although i prefer more flavor. if you're looking for a nice meal away from the tradition "touristy" spots, check this place out! it won't disappoint.

brother shuckers was fantastic ! we looked for a very long time online for a great seafood restaurant . thecrabcakes were jumbo lump & the grilled shrimp and the scallops were great . the mac and cheese almost rivaled your grandma's . the ribs were very juicy & covered with a great barbecue sauce . there were white linen table clothes and the service was fantastic . don't settle for those seafood buffets on the strip, even though this place is a little off the beaten path . my family and i traveled from philadelphia, pa for vacation . we were very impressed and satisfied with this delicious meal .

delectable!. thecrabcakes are the best ones that anybody in my family have ever tasted. being seafood lovers having dined up and down the east coast that says a lot. everything we ordered was fantastic. the calamari, sea bass special,crabstuffed tilapia,crabcake, and pecan pie that i tried were all cooked to perfection and seasoned perfectly. the service was great, our waiter was attentive but not intrusively so. the person i perceived to be the manager also stopped by to check on us. all in all one of the best places i have dined at.

brother shuckers, what a great place to dine at. the atmosphere as well as the staff are excellent. great food great prices. the bestcrabcake you will find anywhere. if you are on vacation be sure to stop here!!
3rd trip 9-4-17 still amazing no wait

a hidden gem!! great food, great atmosphere, great service. the live entertainment lent to the relaxed atmosphere without being intrusive. the owner stopped to chat with each table and made guests feel very welcome and cared for. food was delicious, especially thecrabcakes - truly scrumptious!! a fun and tasty meal at a reasonable price, we wouldn't hesitate to return.

find it. you won't regret it. awesome food, awesome service. a little off the beaten path but if you want some of the best seafood at the beach and a sick of the tourist spots you need to find this place. raw oysters were great,crabcakes may have been the best i ever had. nice selection of beer on tap (i had sweetwater ipa). well worth the trip. family friendly.

simply the best. ok... my grown children are always after me about trying the local "ma and pa" restaurants when i am traveling figuring that they will be different and that every once in a while you find one that is truly outstanding. brother shuckers is more than i could have imagined. i found our experience to be great from start to finish. greeted at the door by the host who is knowledgeable about the menu we walked into the place and were seated near the back. it became obvious that the place was full of people simply enjoying great food with a relaxed atmosphere. there was live music by a couple who set a mellow tone and made us want to sit a little longer and enjoy one more glass of wine. thecrabcakes are real marylandcrabcakes. the mac and cheese that came with thecrabcake dinner could have been an outstanding dinner in and of itself. the wait staff were pleasant and attentive. watching the staff work together clearing tables, changing table cloths, setting the tables, cleaning the floors, bringing the food....it was like watching a great sports team on a good day. the owner, murph, seemed to make his way around. he seemed interested in who we were, where we came from and how we found out about brother shuckers. we loved our brother shucker experience and will visit again when we travel this way next year.

best place to eat in myrtle beach! right when we arrived there was someone right at the door to great us and seat us. and was very friendly. we were severed right away. we started with the amazing sea food spring rolls! i had thecrabcakes which is what they are known for and hands down the best i have ever had. my sister got the stuffed tilapia which has they crabcake in it. it was winderful. very friendly staff and great enviroment. i am totally going back.

awesome!. my goodness, i can't be happier than to have brother shuckers fish house just a mile from my home. a perfect place for me to bring all of my continuous guests.
not only is the staff attentive and personable but the food is always outstanding.
thecrabcake dinner is the best i've had since living in mb for over 6 years, two of my favorite meals are stuffed tilapia and the new menu item pecan crusted salmon.
my guests are always please and when they return they ask to go back.

my wife and i went to brother shuckers this evening and if i had to sum it up in one word it would be disappointed. between the rave reviews here on the spoon and apparently a local blog about the restaurant we thought it was a sure fire winner. unfortunately we were wrong. first the good. the restaurant is located in a new little retail area and has a very nice and casual atmosphere with dining inside and outside available. we started off with the o'brother shrimp which were good. nice crunch and a good flavor with a perfect amount of heat. then came the disappointment. we had completely finished our appetizer and our first round of drinks before our server returned to take our entree order. my wife and i both noticed the service was all but falling apart all over the restaurant. tables sitting w/o drinks or not even being greeted, some actively looking for their server while others trying to just get their check. its as if the service had no organization. our food honestly didn't take very long to come out but what we recieved wasn't very good. my wife orderedcrabcakes which were luke warm and the mac & cheese had a film as if it had been sitting in the service window too long. the shrimp and grits i ordered had potential but missed the mark. the shrimp were over cooked and rubbery and while the sausage gravy had a decent taste they drowned the entire dish in it which made it unedible.
i hate to bash restaurants being a former server/cook myself but our experience was awful. they might work these problems out but eat at your own risk.

i've lived here for a couple of years now and always passby brother shockers because it's so close to my house. so, i finally gave it a try. the softshellcrabwas incredible and the atmosphere was very friendly. they also have a great beer selection. it's also very reasonably priced. i will definitely be back.
