food is everything in tuscany, and we fell in love with it while in italy last fall. i suppose the closest thing to tuscan cuisine we have here in raleigh is at the brio tuscan grille. we had brunch there last sunday. the bread here is very good and rivals any we had in tuscany.

a recent friday evening found us enjoying dinner at brio. the gogonzola encrusted rack of lamb was a hearty meal with 7 chops. slightly overcooked but still delicious. service was timely and staff very friendly with helpful recommendations. price was very fair for ala carte menu. we would return and recommend to others.

place of the best appetizer specials (and improving service). brio is an easy going italian restaurant - and they should be credited with launching the "appetizer happy hour" in raleigh some time back. since then, many places now have appetizer specials on weekdays between 5-7pm. brio's apetizers are $2.99 - offering flatbreads, mini-burgers, bruchetta, calamari, ... - a real nice sampling and plenty to munch on.

since this year, you can also convince your server to get you the apetizer specials on the patio outdoor seating - which was a no-no and a major area of frustration last year. they will still not volounteer the specials to you - but at least you can get them.

i have been to brio many times and had dinner with small and larger groups, and the service and food quality remains consistently good.

(my last visit: 4/30/2010)

you can enjoy a pretty nice and relaxing brunch at brio tuscan grille on sundays. i can suggest the berries & cream french toast, which is tasty. this delight is honey, cinnamon, and sweet cream cheese stuffed french toast, along with a fresh berry compote.you also get the current-standard applewood smoked bacon everyone seems to hawk these days. service was good. try the caffe italiano.

nothing special. the lobster bisque is really good! but other than that i've been really disappointed... the pasta is below average... honestly its better at the cheesecake factory across the street! if you are looking for something a little more italian i would recommend carrabas in grapevine. food t here is exceptional!

omg, terrible service! my husband was on the phone ordering a take out meal when he was put on hold by the server. when she finally came back on the line she said the kitchen was closed, refused to finalize our order and then hung up on us! not the way to run a business!!

yummm. my first time at brio's was for a bridal shower. i was really impressed with the atmosphere, the attention the staff gave us, and the food. the lobster bisque is delicious, as is the penne a la vodka. and to top it off they make the best peach bellini! i would recommend to anyone!

that's my take on "brio". all around a pleasant place to have a bite and a beverage. a good part of the happy hour scene in naples, fl.

always good, always consistent with good service. this is my place to hit on a sunday afternoon when we are done shopping. grab a lite salad at the bar with a glass of wine and people watch.

absolutely horrible service. the hostess is unbelievably rude. we left without ordering anything because we seemed to be inconveniencing the staff. we used to love brio but will not be returning. ever.

enjoyed, will go back . . . .. tried the bruschetta quattro sampler, very tasty, and the spicy shrimp with eggplant, also yummy. our party had the lasagna, enormous portion which was enjoyed by all, chicken carbonara pasta, very rich and again a large portion. but, the stars at the table were the roasted lamb chops. ordered medium rare, they were incredible. cooked to perfection and served with a huge mound of mashed potatoes and decorated with asparagus. the mashed potatoes were well seasoned, but would have preferred a lighter option. also, more than four sprigs of grilled asparagus would have been nice. all in all, the food was very good, service was attentive, and people watching enjoyable. we will definitely return.
