overrated and obnoxious!. the brick alley pub overrated and overpriced. if you are visiting newport don't be lured by all the guides that say this is theplaceto eat. the service is terrible! the food is extremely low quality. don't waste your money!

this restaurant is a greatplacefor a laidback lunch or dinner when you're visiting newport or even for just a cocktail and a snack after a day at the beach. it's a hugeplaceright in the center of the bustling brick market shopping district in the heart of the island. the menu is extensive (there is something for everyone here) and the food is consistently good.

not that expensive. neat place.great quality food.outstanding burgers and a good mix of other foods. real niceplacefor a family to go when in newport. lots of nice shops nearby.
large but very good service. street parking for the most part. but there are pay lots around the area for not a lot of money. a very good value due to the quality and size of the portions. a great spot. not your regular vacation spot eatery. a step above. barryn

brick alley pub & restaurant. brick alley a great little pub in newport, ri. it's was a tuesday afternoon when the wife and myself decided to give brick alley a try. i had no idea thisplaceexisted since i only visit newport a few times a year. i must say i'm impressed. i ordered the cajun chicken sandwich and my wife got the tomato, basile, and mozzarella sandwich. they both tasted absolutely delicious. our server was friendly and very courteous. brick alley is a bit pricey but it's one of the cheaper venues in newport and is worth every penny. if in town i recommend brick alley!

old stand by......changing. i have dined here about 12 times and have usually enjoyed it. for some reason i am beginning to feel like thisplaceis turning into a tourist trap. i remember enjoying my meals more, years ago, i believe the prices have a gone up and maybe the quality gone down. don't get me wrong this is still a restaurant worth going to, the salad bar is fresh the menu offers a nice variety from seafood to beef to italian favorites like bruschetta. that being said, i am left feeling like the scene is changing partly due to the local tourism.

loved the brick alley pub. based on a friend's recommendation my girlfriend and i tried the brick alley pub during a trip to newport. everything was fantastic! it was restaurant week while we were there so that meant they were offering a 3 course lunch for $16. we both took advantage of that great deal. we both started with a cup of their clam chowder which kicked major ass. my girlfriend followed that with their lobster mac n' cheese, also great and the portion was huge and stuffed with large pieces of buttery lobster. i had the blue cheese bacon burger, also large and also delicious. my only complaint about the burger was that the blue cheese was far too mild, it almost tasted like cheddar. if i order a blue cheese burger i want some stank to that blue cheese! for dessert i went with the mango sorbet which i loved, and my girlfriend topped her meal off with a cappuccino.

the service was attentive, friendly, and never rushed despite a packed house and a door way full of patrons. one heads up, we went for lunch around 2:00 and at that time there was still a 30 min to 1 hour wait. it seems like thisplaceis packed all day long and for good reason.

a good meal in newport. grade: b

i first came to brick alley pub when it was across the street in brick marketplacenearly 30 years ago. it was much smaller and more intimate then, but they managed to keep some of the feel in this newer and larger and location. the stop for lunch was worth it.

good chowder and sandwiches, and the entrees looked appealing. would definitely return.

a little pricey, a little crowded, but still good. been going here for years, since it's a goodplaceto take newcomers to newport for one of their meals. food is good, staff is usually very nice and efficient. during the summer, it's sometimes far too crowded and the wait is too long, but it's usually worth it.

cool hangout. this a niceplaceto hang out, people watch, and enjoy some good food. the menu changes fairly often enough that if you give it some time, you'll find something new that you like. the courtyard area is one of the best places in the area to grab a table.

great food in a fun pub setting. stopped in newport ok the way from mass. to pa and wanted to eat somewhere with a warm atmosphere. fantasic service, great decor, traditional pub menu with better dinners and a nice salad bar. wine list is supurb and many, many beers ontap. greatplaceto meet friends, but at lunchtime the staff is also very hospitable to serving children.

the atmosphere is fun, the waitstsff is usually very good, and the food is excellent. you can't go wrong with the soup/salad/bread bar. the triple hot buffalo shrimp pasta is one of my favorites, but there are so many things to choose from. off season is best, but it is still worth the wait when flooded with tourists. it is aplaceto have fun with friends!
