first time visiting. very easy to find in the shopping district of newport. pretty busy but after you eat here you will see why! amazing food and very friendly staff. had the baked stuffed shrimp! very very good but a little on the high side of their prices. well worth it though.

hope to go again this summer.. excellent food and wide variety. a bit noisy and crowded, but that's a good sign. been going there for 20 years.

overrated and obnoxious!. the brick alley pub overrated and overpriced. if you are visiting newport don't be lured by all the guides that say this is the place to eat. the service is terrible! the food is extremely low quality. don't waste your money!

went for lunch after our bnb suggested it (adele turner inn which has been a great stay)and got steak tip wrap that was flavorful and juicy, it was really tasty. my husband got the lobster roll and thought it good. i'd recommend it to others.

great atmosphere and food. my wide and i visited for an early dinner and really enjoyed it. the lobster bisque was great. the lobster ravioli wasn't the best but the bbq sandwich made up for it.

this is one of the places which are typically referred to as “institution” - it’s been around for a while. great “pub” feel - lots of traditional decor in terms of wall plaques, old ad posters and so on - i’m sure you know what i’m talking about.
i had shrimp jambalaya as my main dish, and it was very nicely spicy (black pepper spicy), very good flavor combination. and it was also large - keep it in mind, all the dishes are really on the larger size. the dish i had could’ve been easily shared by two people.
arugula salad pizza was nicely done (i would personally call it a flatbread, but it doesn’t change the taste :) ). fried shrimp with fries were also very good.
service was rather indifferent - an extra smile and a bit of attention would go a long way.
recommended for the experience - you might fare better with the service.

we had the little kids clams, ahi tuna sliders and the lobster roll. this place, the food and the staff are quite simply outstanding! we had to wait for 45 minutes at the bar which was also pleasant and in the end well worth it.

pretty good. went on a thursday night and it was busy - calling ahead is a good idea. the service was friendly, efficient, and overall excellent. good margaritas. the food was good but not great: i had the stuffed shrimp...shrimp was excellent, stuffing was bland. dessert was fantastic - brownie and ice cream...basic but terrific. generated some "wow" from other diners.

this looks like a great restaurant and we would definitely go again next time through newport. fun, relaxing, and terrific vibe. i did not think my dinner was great, but next time i will try something else.

after a 1 hour wait at 2:30 on a tuesday in december, we were seated! thankfully our meal was worth the wait. the plumby's chicken sandwich was a homemade breaded chicken breast over flowing the bun and cooked just right with jack cheese and a spicy mayo. the coleslaw was good, but ha a detectable "flavor" that we couldn't put our finger on? root beer? as i said: good, but enough to raise an eyebrow in mystery. i had the mike pasta with salad bar. the salad bar was basic with decent fresh ingredients and spicy albondigas soup that seemed devoid of the requisite meatballs, though the flavor was still great. the mike's pasta was filled with clams and linguisa and the sauce/broth was perfectly accompanied by 4 garlic toasts for dipping. this was a perfect dish for a chilly day. service was good, the decor will keep you busy looking about. easily recommended.

brick alley was highly recommended to us. we are definitely glad we waited the full hour for our table. it was well worth the wait. i had the quinoa burger and my husband had the reuben. both were delicious. my husband is extremely picky about reubens and said this was one of the best he had. they also gave us a free dessert for my birthday!

we come here from time to time when in newport. the decor is quite entertaining for all ages. food is consistently good. it's difficult getting a table at times, and the service is good but you can sometimes feel rushed.
