thefoodand service was great, portion size didn't disappoint. i had the chicken and waffles, i'm not a huge fan of chicken and waffles but these were good. my wife had had some type of scramble she said was good too.

wonderful food, casual surroundings

we had the chance to stop in again at brian's 24 here in the san diego gaslamp district, and, we were happy to see thefoodand the amazing portions have remained the same. the omelet we had included 6 eggs with lots of good ingredients, and, with the side of pancakes is more than enoughfoodfor two people. cost with tip and tax was under 20 dollars. service was great. we will go back. if you find this information helpful please click the link below to let us know.

there is nothing more satisfying than a fluffy, light and buttery stack of pancakes. nobody does them better (or bigger!) than san diego’s iconic 24-hour eatery, brian’s 24. in honor of national pancake week, starting february 21st, enjoy one of downtown’s most popularfoodchallenges, the brian’s 24 pancake monster.

a beloved american-diner tradition is making a comeback. having started in diners across america in the 1920s, the “blue plate special” became a treasured, hearty menu staple, rooted in tradition. now local eatery, brian’s 24, is bringing back the time-honored menu with their own “blue plate specials” starting this week!  you’ll want to grab a fork and embrace the flavor of this classic comfortfoodright here in san diego.

i was staying at the ramada which is the hotel that is a part of brian's 24.

i do have to say their happy hour drink specials were good. i would recommend this place for drinks before going out to dinner. good drinks for the price.

thefoodhere is mediocre. i had the chicken tenders as a late night snack and they were really thin. not like the usual meaty chicken tenders you would find at other chicken places. they were ok. i also had one of their burritos, the california, and it was less than average. it was stuffed with fries and had little meat and avocado. the burrito was very bland... i submerged my burrito in ketchup just to get over the blandness of the food. over price for less than average food.

i would recommend this place for drinks, but not for food. if you haven't been i would recommend trying this place for yourself. it may be a hit or a miss.

went for breakfasts. not many people in the place at 11 a.m. on a thursday. service was a little on the pokey side.foodwas very tasty, though. highly recommend the corned beef hash benedict. portions are very big, so come hungry. home fries size lacked seasoning, but main entree was aces.

went there at 9 am on a monday morning. it wasn't crowded and thefoodwas fabulous. the cheese blintzes and the breakfast tacos with ribeye were great, but the corned beef hash with eggs benedict was amazing. pricey but huge servings- two can easily split a meal.

i like this place. the service was quick and efficient, especially on a busy friday night with many customers coming from the surrounding bars looking for a late night meal. it was a bit noisy, but that was to be expected. thefoodwas decent and not lacking in flavor. maybe not hot enough, but that's about it. i might go back next time i'm downtown at night.

save your money. go to denny's. this was my first time there. thefoodwas so-so but very overpriced and then they added a service charge on top of it. we were going to go out and celebrate a special occasion afterwards but they killed it for me. there were only 4 or 5 other people there and it took nearly half an hour to get our food. horrible in my opinion. my girlfriend wrote to the owner.

this comment is for the owner of the brian's 24. tonight was the first night for me to dine at your restaurant. i wanted to add a suggestion for you to include on your menu. i recommend that you write somewhere on a wall or note on the menu that "a gratuity charge will be automatically added for orders that cost over $90." my party and i (4 people total) were shocked that a gratuity charge was placed on our bill. i did see on the menu that gratuity is added to parties of 6 or more but no where did we see that it would be added to bills greater than $90. i've never encountered this before at other restaurants and it seemed unbelievable but your server, vanesa, reassured us that this is your company's business practice. i suggested for her to tell the owner that this should be listed somewhere. after we told her this didn't sound right, she offered to take the gratuity off for us, which made the automatic gratuity charge sound even more phony. we were at your restaurant on 4/6/2010 between 8:45pm to 10:05 pm. we sat at a table in the front of the restaurant and did not go to the bar except once to obtain a chilled glass which our server failed to give us after our request for one. as mentioned earlier, our hostess/bartender/server was vanesa. we ordered a cranberry vodka, a long island ice tea, a white zinfandel, and a corona for drinks. our meals were a jambalaya linguine, philly cheese steak, rib-eye with egg burrito, and a sampler. our gratuity was approximately $17. and our bill was a total of $111.31. i am writing this to you to let you know that the automatic gratuity charge for bills greater than $90 is an unusual practice for many restaurants. i write this in hopes that you will better communicate to your customers who would unwittingly fall victim to this strange automatic charge. thefoodand service tonight was mediocre but we almost always tip 20% (we tip more when service is great). i am still shocked that a gratuity is charged for bills over $90. and i feel confident that customers who were in my same position left brian's 24 with the same sense of shock and disbelief that a business does this.

the owner replied back and said it was up to the sever to add this charge. did i mention our server was the hostest, bartender, and our waitress. save your money and go to denny's, same food, better service much cheaper.

don't even think about it! the place is filthy. no one was at the door to greet and seat. we had to retrieve our own table. it took 5 minutes to order. 45 minutes later ourfoodhad yet to arrive when our waiter came over and informed us our ticket was not even up in the kitchen. we left. prices are way too high and staff unfriendly. save yourself the aggravation and eat somewhere else.

this place was not good. the tables were dirty. the silverware was dirty. thefoodwas overcooked. we ordered a krabcake(imitation) omelete and there was hardly amy meat in this thing at all. the service was ok, but overall i wouldn't go back.
