great lunch at brian maule’srestauranton saturday with our 16 year old 'niece to celebrate our wedding anniversary, the meal was brilliant, as was the service and atmosphere. we did see brian visible in the restaurant, however he didn’t approach our table, maybe when we visit again for the gin/cocktail event we’ll be lucky enough to thank him in person for a delicious meal!

chardon pas d'or. friday night. dinner for four.restaurantnot very busy.
food good, not great. large lump of fat in lasagne & ham hough starter which made us all wary of what was to follow.
service chaotic from the start.
waited far too long for drinks to arrive other than water.
waited far too long for food order to be taken.
ordered bottle of veuve clicquot which did not arrive. on asking what happened to the champagne i was advised that they did not have any. (nobody had thought to tell us this or suggest an alternative).
house champagne was recommended but returned as it could strip paint.
had to request pouring of wine twice before it happened.
further alarm was raised when waiter asked how the duck should be cooked. i have only been eating food for 62 years but, i have always believed that there is only one way to cook duck......medium rare.....unless you're american.
overall, not up to the hype that the glasgow media spew out to us about this restaurant. was not the special experience that we expected. not in any hurry to return. better and cheaper eateries are plentiful in glasgow, in my opinion.

good. first time at this restaurant, a lovely tastefully decorated dining room and close by the new blythswood hotel- which offers pretty good cocktails if you want a pre or post dinner drink.

the food was generally of a very high standard, well presented and cooked perfectly. the scallop starter was particularly enjoyable- juicy and excellently accompanied by a sharp pesto. a few dishes, including the swordfish and crème brulee, whilst perfectly nice perhaps lacked the depth of flavour one would expect at arestaurantof this level.

the wine list is certainly certainly adequate- with a good variety of mainly french offerings. however it does not compete in size with other comparable restaurants in glasgow and only three reds and three whites are offered by the glass.

service was very friendly- good balance of conversation without being intrusive. however the drinks were not always topped up as quickly as would have been liked. it did take a rather long time to get the food ordered- however as we were in no rush this was not a problem.

all in all, an enjoyable experience and certainly worth trying. however, i don't think that this is the 'bestrestaurantin glasgow.'

amazing!. we went to the brian maulerestaurantlast week and were very impressed. there service and staff were very well versed in the details of the menu.

i had the scallops to start, which were cooking well and presented with care. for our mains we both opted to have john dory, which was nice… mine was cooked to perfection, however my partner's wasn't as good as it could have been. we had white chocolate fondant with the raspberries for dessert was divine! i do recommend this 100%! it was the perfect balance of chocolate and raspberries! all in all it was a good meal, nice experience and i would go back, however with the price of the menu items i wouldn't expect anything less than perfection from the restaurant.
