good. first time at this restaurant, a lovely tastefully decorated dining room and close by the new blythswood hotel- which offers pretty good cocktails if you want a pre or post dinner drink.
the food was generally of a very high standard, well presented and cooked perfectly. the scallop starter was particularly enjoyable- juicy and excellently accompanied by a sharp pesto. a few dishes, including the swordfish and crème brulee, whilst perfectly nice perhaps lacked the depth of flavour one would expect at arestaurantof this level.
the wine list is certainly certainly adequate- with a good variety of mainly french offerings. however it does not compete in size with other comparable restaurants in glasgow and only three reds and three whites are offered by the glass.
service was very friendly- good balance of conversation without being intrusive. however the drinks were not always topped up as quickly as would have been liked. it did take a rather long time to get the food ordered- however as we were in no rush this was not a problem.
all in all, an enjoyable experience and certainly worth trying. however, i don't think that this is the 'bestrestaurantin glasgow.'
