brahmins coffee bar is one of the few ~5 rated places in bangalore. is is a small corner place in basavanagudi which is the cause of traffic jam in the area ;).

there is board or hoarding which guides you, but you can keep a watch on the sound of tea glasses jingle - that'll lead you to brahmins coffee bar

here a coffee costs 16 rs & its an art preparing that coffee. i have triedidly& kesari bath as well.idlyis very soft & amazing with the spicy chutney they pour on it. one best thing is that you get plenty of chutney here as there is one guy sitting in one corner only to serve chutney and he is super busy always. they do not serve sambar. kesari bath is not very sweet & not oily too. its cooked to the perfection with right amount of sweetness & spices.

there are only limited items on the menu - idly, vada, kesari bath, khara bath, tea/coffee/ milk - & thats it.

the place is always crowded, but you do not feel that as there are no chairs & very limited no of tables to stand & eat. so people grab their items, eat silently & leave.

this is a must try place if you happen to visit this area. it is 500m away from national college metro station.

finally, made it to brahmins coffee bar for breakfast after hearing about all the hype associated around it for years.

the place is a beehive of activity but they seem to have sorted out their operations quite well. the queues though a little lengthy, moves quickly and the order is fulfilled in a jiffy. the place is sufficiently staffed to meet the needs of the large crowd. since the demand is high, the speed with which they prepare the food and get it ready is commendable which also ensures that the customer gets served hot and fresh food.

this place has just 5 items of which we had theidly(average), vada (good but a little too crispy for my liking), khara bath (very good) and the filter coffee (good strong coffee). missed out on the kesari bath. they serve idly-vada with chutney and no sambar typical of the vintage idly-vada eateries in bengaluru. the chutney is just about ok.

since there is no place to sit, one needs to either stand and eat or take their plates to the car and eat at thier comfort.

giving this place 4/5 because i was expecting a bit more based on the hype that has been created around it.

this place has the old bengaluru nostalgia associated with it and is definitely worth visiting!

i love all items from here. always prefer to go there and eat. i had requested them to give vadas in paper bag instead of giving it withidlytogether so that it stays crispy. but they did not follow my request. overall i still love this place.

with the most comforting foodidlyvade with chutney. one of bengaluru's best south indian breakfasts can be eaten here, and that too within 100/- rupees! the best of traditional south indian food can be found here at brahmins coffee bar, this place is touted to be amongst the very best eatery of bangalore for filter kaapi & idli. while their idli was indeed amongst the best idlis that i had in bangalore, their filter coffee was good! this iconic spot doesn't need any introduction because of various reasons.. you just can't stop at one plate! this famous pit stop has been consistent when it comes to quality & quantity since 1965. definitely worth visiting though. 💁🏻‍♂️💯

one of the iconic restaurants in bangalore which is serving the tasty and authentic breakfast since a few decades.

i had visited this place twice. the recent one was with my friend. i had a very good experience both the times.

it's a very small restaurant with very limited tables to have food. most of the people consume food while having plates in their hands.

we ordered idly, vada, khara bath, kesari bath and filter coffee. khara bath is one of my favourites here. vada was very crispy and tasty.idlyand kesari bath were good. one of the main usp of the hotel is their chutney. unlike most of other restaurants which serve both sambar and chutney, this restaurant serves only chutney. since i don't consume coffee i can't comment about it, but my friend said that it was authentic.

since it is self-serve, there is nothing to describe about the service. prices are economical considering the quality of food they serve.

i would recommend this place to each and every south indian who visit bangalore and i would recommend them to definitely try khara bath and vada at least.

hygiene - 4.5/5
taste - 4.5/5
ambience - 3/5
price - 4/5

overall experience - 4/5

being in bangalore if you haven’t tasted this restaurant, then you have really missed something. it’s worth of mentioning while you cherish the memories of bangalore food. now coming to the review of this restaurant, these are my findings—

1. theidlyis something which i never tasted before. it’s so delicious & melts immediately once you put into your mouth.

2. the vara, crisp & crunch but yet perfect on taste. the vara plays a wonderful chemistry with the green chutney & will definitely puts a impression on your taste buds. even the kesari bath is also an impressive item to be served.

& finally last but not the least, the filter coffee. oof...oof..oof..! the crowd waiting to served the coffee will itself tells its history & legendary taste.

overall it’s an ultimate experience & a must try place in bangalore.

this is one of the vintage hotels in iconic basavangudi.
you will find it on the left innerstreet opppsite to shell.
a small place with no seating arrangements and a bit crowded place as well.
tried theidlyvada and filter coffee, it was good.
will visit again for kharabath.

one of the oldest and legendary outlets of bangalore for south indian breakfast which typically serves idly, wada, butter, chow chow and kara bath, coffee & tea only
theidlyare soft and served with home made butter, wada was crispy n coffee was amazing
also the quantity was good compared to other outlets (approx 15-20%)
cumming to the price i felt it little over priced when compared to other outlets like taaza tindi.
