awesome !!!!!!!. went there today for the first time. sundays they have auce crab legs, wings, ff, and soup. we decided to dine at the pool bar. got our drinks and ordered. we then decided to sit at a table. we had barely sat down and they brought our soup. barely got done with the soup and the rest of our stuff came.foodwas outstanding and staff was very personable and tentative. actually got to speak with the owner and told him how much we enjoyed it. during the conversation we mentioned how nice everyone was. he mentioned that they had staff issues in the past but are happy with the staff they have now. so, maybe that explains some of the past reviews. or maybe some of the bad reviews are from rival restaurant owners ? i would definately recommend it to my friends, because i know i will definately be dinning there in the future.

should be in bar rescue. should have walked out the moment we walked in. dark and slightly grimy. there was no one at the hostess stand for about 10 min. that could be forgivable but thefoodwas horrendous. we ordered 2 steaks medium, the rib special, and the jambalaya. the steaks were like hockey pucks. they were returned to the kitchen and came back 15 min later completely rare, which seemed intentional. the steaks came back for the third time close enough. but it was the same steak that we had to test ourselves for doneness. even once cooked medium the quality of the meat was poor. the rib special was mushy and either microwaved or had been sitting in a steamer for way too long. the jambalaya was edible but nothing special. we got there around 7 and were told the band wouldn't start playing until 930. but around 730 they started doing sound checks which were unbelievable. don't get me wrong, i love live music. but this was 30 minutes of blasting, thumping drums. between the food, the unclean feeling, and the music, we won't be back and will be telling everyone to avoid it.

greatfoodat great prices. i have now been to a taste of bourbon twice. we tried the fried alligator bites, killer...my bf tried the jazz steamer pot and wow. lot's of shrimp, crab legs, sausage & potatoes. i had the special, ribs and crabcake, it was awesome! we will def. go back again.

great place with unique atmosphere. i have been to taste of bourbon three times since the re-opening in january of 2014. what a difference. awesomefoodwith cheap prices, but not "cheap" food. my son now calls this his "joint". i had to take my parents just so they could taste the food! we love getting the alligator bites and you can't beat a an overflowing crab dip bread bowl for 9 bucks. i would rival this place with the atland house's underside pub as far asfoodquality, but not in price. you'll pay half. if you are going to get wings, go with the house's bourbon bbq sauce or buffalo as your choices. the other flavors are a little lacking flavor wise. but those drinks though- they are so good; my favorites are their strong yet somehow refreshing long island and the kattywompkiss. just a tip, if you are going to order a southern inspired dish at this place, make sure you order it on the mild side, that is, if you don't love a really strong spicy kick. a taste of bourbon has everything from great appetizers to seafood and sausage steampots, from crabcake topped burgers to alligator stew, so it's a family family place we're pretty much anyone can get something they are looking for. also, ask to sit in the dining room, the atmosphere for larger parties on the bar side is sort of lacking in ambiance compared to the mardi gras themed dining room which is just lovely.

best kept secret. my husband and i think this is the best kept secret in hanover. thefoodis very tasty, friendly staff with good service. the ayce crab legs and wings is a great value. we were stuffed!

my new favorite place. i finally found a good restaurant in hanover. very friendly, efficient service, bringing greatfoodat a very reasonable price in an overwhelming atmosphere. what else could you want? *****great

my wife, daughter and i went to a taste of bourbon to see what all they offered. to my surprise they offered so much. we were greeted at the door by a female host that sat us at our seat. soon after we were seated we were greeted by our waitress amber w. extremely friendly and she connected with my wife, my daughter and myself as soon as we all started talking. amber right away let us know the specials and a few of her favoritefooditems that she enjoyed. my family never had alligator before and it was something we wanted to try, she told us that she has never had it, but that it was a popular item. fried alligator was a favorite of ours and we really enjoyed the wings, burgers and pulled pork. amazing place and we will be returning. if you haven't been here, you need to try it. great food, fantastic service and a down to earth place to eat.

we love this place!. my wife and i frequently go into a taste or bourbon and just love it there. it is perhaps the best bang for the buck you will get in our entire areafoodwise. if anyone out there is a fish and chips fan like we are definitely try this place. i skimmed over a couple of the reviews and was quite shocked at a few of the negative ones. we have never had a bad experience there. the wait times are almost non existent and the staff has never been anything but friendly and prompt. our favorite waitress, megan b, is always great. those reviews make me wonder if they had the right place when they wrote them. we will definitely go back. several times!

my husband and i were there last evening. we sat at the bar to have a few drinks and dinner. thefoodwas excellent as well as the service. attentive and friendly staff. i recommend trying the honey bourbon wings, they were out of this world!

amazing food!!!!. wow!! we just finished our first meal at this restaurant. the dishes are varied, and while the menu is not extensive, here was something for everyone. jambalaya, gumbo and pulled pork were excellent. 2 of the kids had sliders, which have really different toppings if you wish- jalapeño and blue cheese! yum!!

as for the decor- it is fun!!! my goodness- every other place in hanover looks the same . this place has color and props and is visually appealing.

staff is friendly, lots of teamwork. very accommodating to special dietary request, plentiful refills, and they all were polite and clean

greatfoodand great atmosphere. this place is awesome! they have a new less expensive menu with a new staff and cooks… thefoodis great! i highly recommend the crab cakes and crab dip! they have really good 29 cent wings on wednesdays. the bartender is awesome and attentive as well. the prices aren’t bad either. they even have a pool bar open on the weekends if you want to sit outside. i suggest you check this place out.
