b.o.'s fish wagon

bos !!. cant get anymore basic that this. food and drink. top notch fresh seafood and everything homemade. ill talk about the seafood later. but im a finatic about potatoes. if you dont have good potatoes, your no good. so i am a big supporter for almost any restaurant that has fresh fries. id rather have one fresh french fry that a pound of frozen fries. the moral here is; bos has real fries.
fried fish, i can take it or leave it. so they will grill it if you ask. but i dont bother. the first time i went here, i took a gamble on the scallops. most expensive thing on the menu. well, never had anything else . get them every time. grilled scallops with a dash of teriyaki and accompanied with some caramilized onions. and thekeylime sauce to put on them, or dip them in. its a mayo withkeylime juice. im making it myself now. and i get fries and black beans & rice. (i know. 2 starches. but they are so dam good.) i dont eat them all...
the last time i was there, i put in the order. waited the usual , didnt see any scallops. many people went up and time went by. a lady appeared from the back with a plate, i saw raw scallops. she put them on the grill, looked around a bit. sir, are these your scallops?? yes ! im so sorry its taken so long, i had to shuck them.

totally epitomizeskeywest...quirky, but tiny and fun. excellent fresh seafood and a delightfully eccentric atmosphere.

amazing mahi mahi tacos! if you don't have them, you're missing out. all of the people complaining about the price must not have eaten anywhere else inkeywest where everything is overpriced i.e. $8 bowl of oatmeal. this place is off the beaten path and well worth the walk.

fun place to eat and great food. the place has a lot of character. the decor is fun to look at and you can leave your mark on the place by putting your name on the walls. there are also chickens everywhere which is really cool (not sure if sanitary, yolo). our table all had the fried grouper sandwich which was really great. thekeylime mayo and the spicy sauce really complemented each other and made the sandwich awesome. we also had an order of rice and beans which were good too. overall, the food was really really good and went perfectly with a cold beer. i would come back and it's really worth it especially with the fun atmosphere. it is also a bit away from the cruise ship, so you don't get that much traffic in the restaurant which is nice.

was recommended to us for fun decor with tree growing out of the bed of a truck and the grouper sandwich...we found the teenaged/young adult staff nice and ordered the $13.95 grouper sandwich (no sides included). it was served hot on a fresh roll with tiny bit of mayo, some lettuce and tomato in plastic basket. it was very bland. absolutely nothing special about it. no special sauce, seasonings, nor even any salt or pepper that we could taste. kitschy beach bum decor with open to air seating was good vibe for the budget flip flop young crowd that was seated at the other 3 tables but, way over priced imho. with so many choices of great food...we are still confused as to why it is popular. walked across to pepes and had good house madekeylime pie $10 with tip.

worth the dive. while the service is a bit slow...the cole slaw alone is worth the wait. we had a delicious meal of mahi mahi sandwich with a side of cole slaw. one of the best meals during a week vacation inkeywest.

best place inkeywest. we were extremely impressed by this restaurant....so impressed that we went twice in 2 days! the food tastes as good as it smells. definitely stop by here if you are walking by or riding a bike. the fried grouper & shrimp were both perfect.

best kept secret inkeywest. soooooooo good

hidden gem. great food, great prices, great atmosphere...right down to the rusted '49 (?) studebaker pickup in the middle of the "dining room". i live in fort lauderdale and visitkeywest occasionally either by driving down or by stopping by on a cruise ship. i wouldn't miss lunch at b.o.'s, and i recommend it to those i meet on the ship.
gonna be there oct. 18, 2012. can't wait!

best fried and blackened mahi sandwich onkeywest! couldnt stop talking about it allll day. atmosphere is hole in the wall but thats the best kind!

best fish sandwich!. b.o's has the best fish sandwich! they serve it with akeywest mayo type sauce and it is delicious! definitely a must try.

earlier this year we took a much needed r&r break inkeywest, florida. first question: where to eat lunch? luckily the desk manager at the b&b pointed us in the right direction - to b.o.'s fish wagon , which was right down the street. this place is authentickeywest and the food sure was great. i love the character of this place, with the vintage car out front and all of the old maritime paraphernalia. the fish = awesome and they have homemade limeade. this place is cash only so be sure you have some! this old car is part of the charm!

akeywest origional... this place has got to be my #1 favorite place for atmosphere.. as a local i love to bring my friends and family here *immediately* from the airport... a perfect place to set the mood for a memorable vacation.. beer, laughter, & incredible fish sandwitches.
