food top notch - service hot and cold. the good servers at this bar are excellent, attentive and friendly and remember you even if it's long between visits.

the back of the room servers, some are great, others look like they are the most depressed, sullen people in the world. i ordered a vegetarian sub and the waitress put down a pathetic roll with some lettuce, onions and tomatoes on it. how could you possibly pick up that plate in the kitchen and still serve it? would you want to eat this lame, small sandwich?

but this was an exception, not the rule. the service is mostly great as is the food.

they ran out of clams, our waiter was rushing, short, rude, and unattentive. i ordered the clam chowder, it was not white like clam chowder usually is. i ignored that fact. i tasted it, it was a little salty. as i had a couple of bites i could taste pork (i do not eat meat, just fish). i asked if there was pork in it, he said yes, bacon. i said clam chowder does not usually have any other type of meat in it. he says "look it up online, i'll gay tamed you'll find pork in any clam chowder" am i an idiot?!??

never going back there again.

unsauced pasta. celebrated my sisters birthday this weekend at boomerangs. basically food was pretty good, service was ok. pasta was dry, asked for more sauce for my to add to my take home , waiter gave me a tiny ( shot glass size ) of sauce. after asking for more, he again brought the same size. trying to have another dinner out of it at home was very disappointing as it was still dry.
would have returned to patronize, however sitting here with dry pasty pasta is annoying................., so, no , probably will not go back.

haddock fish fry with panko breading (or beer-battered): the portion size was massive, and the contrast between the crunchy breading and the moist fish was pleasant. panko might be one of the greatest creations ever. the sides weren’t as exceptional as the main entree, however, as the macaroni salad was heavy on the mayo, and the coleslaw lacked any real zing.

bread and soups were very good. service was great. decor- eh. for the entrees, i'm always leery of too many menu items and this place is why. maybe their basics like spaghetti or ravioli are good, but i ordered the gorgonzola pasta. blech. could smell the garlic as server was bringing it to the table. i ended up with a raw chunk of garlic in my mouth the size of my pinky nail. sundried tomatos weren't mentioned in the menu but they were on it anyway - maybe an attempt to fancy it up. wife's chicken with spinach and cheese had no noticeable salt or flavor. we won't be going back.

awesome night!. my parents and i enjoyed a fabulous meal tonight, sept 25, 2013. we enjoyed the best portobello mushroom appetizer and the stuffed banana peppers were to die for. if you ever get a chance to order the corn chowder i would suggest it. you don't really know corn chowder until you've this! not only was the food wonderful, it was delivered was such panache i couldn't believe it. unfortunately, i took pictures after a bite or two, but you get the idea. all this for very reasonable prices.

i usually love this place, but our last visit was disappointing. the glass was face down and stuck to the plastic table cloth. i asked for a fresh glass and was greeted with a dirty look. we waited way too long for water, too. my crab cakes were perfect with my crab cake salad, but there was a lot of brown/rusty lettuce in the salad. i mentioned it off the cuff and the waiter got snotty with me. he told my friend to "have a great night" and snubbed me. i guess this guy never heard of urban spoon. i may go back because the food is usually very good. i just hope the staff has an attitude change.

i went to boomerang on saturday august 3. i'm from ottawa and love good food. anyhow, i had the french onion soup which is prepared the traditional way with american provalone then i actually ordeeed the special, shrimp and scallops en brioche served over a cajun cream sauce. i am 35 (okay 48) and i am an amateur cook, and i have rarely tasted something so good. the sauce carried a punch and complimented the sea food so beautifully. look the meal was hot and it was perfectly cooked and the presentation was so great, it actually looked like a soft shell crab.

this being said, i will go back to boomerangs as often as i come to buffalo ... thanks to the owner tom for the hospitality and thanks to nikki, our server (funny as heck).

also, thanks to joanne, the bar keeper, drinks were affordable and strong.

yummy. was so happy to find such a cool place in my hood! i will be going back- a bit slow, but it was friday night and the owner? manager? tom took time to chat with us and it was all in all a very nice experience-extensive menu and other reviews have me hungry for more menu tasting! we had an awesome fish fry and my only ;( is no potato salad- but plenty of options for potatos- i am super happy to have gone in-driven by a million times-duh-and everyone in the place looked happy including staff. bravo!

they were really friendly and helpful. i got buffalo shrimp for the appetizer and loved it. a half lamb half beef burg, which was cooked to what i wanted. i'm not in live with fried goods and burgers but i would definitely return here.

fantastic. still fabulous. brought my family of four, including two vegetarians that were accommodated wonderfully. we ate like greedy kings with appetizers, drinks, entrees and the legendary desserts. all four of us for $115 with everything including two take-home boxes. fresh and delicious. great staff. you'll come back again and again.

awesome food, great price and service.. i enjoy a lunch or dinner here multiple times a week. i am greeted by name as it is a local neighborhood restaurant, but i know of a lot of people that travel from all parts of the city and suburbs to enjoy dinner here. the food is great and very affordable. sometimes they get slammed and drinks may be a bit slow at the bar, but i think of that as saving room for a fabulous meal. the rasberry crumbly blue pork chops, weekly pot roast night and different sandwich specials are phenomenal. they have clams and mussels year round. they have buffalo sabres specials and hot toddys during the holidays. i had a grilled sesame chicken sandwich with a thai glaze that i hope they have again. i have witnessed the business grow as i live nearby. i think tom tom is a very knowledgeable manager. molly you keep them all in line and everything rolling smooth. i have seen very little turnover of the staff in the last 10+ years. they are happy people and very loyal to tom and andy. everyone should try this restuarant. you will return. again and again.
