an off night? i hope so.. after waiting to be seated, our server was triple seated with three 2 tops, and all this is in addition to the other tables he already had. being in the business i immediately knew it wasn't going to be a good situation - and it wasn't. our server apologized a total of 3 times (taking so long to take our drink order, get our food order, and for the food taking so long) all before we even got our food. i appreciated him telling us the truth about the kitchen being backed up, but if it was you'd think he would have enough down time to keep his tables drinks full. there was no 2-bite check back, in fact he didn't come back to check on us until we were just about done. my wife's fish was great, my chicken finger sandwich was one of the worst i've had (hard to screw them up too). there was another server who only had 1 table, but there was never much of a team effort. i believe our server was set up to fail - entirely a poorly managed situation. that restaurant is a great thing for the neighborhood, i wish them well. after that experience i left with a bad taste in my mouth. too many other restaurants on my list to visit before going back again, the service made that an easy decision.
