fantasy vs. reality. the fantasy of bolsa is very appealing. the concept, the location, the menu . . . the slow food movement.

the reality was very disappointing . . . for all 4 in our party.

the lemon sole was almost too salty to eat. how can lemon sole be salty?

the veal schnitzel was forgettable. bland and small in portion size. apparently, the flavor was optional.

the potato & leek soup was barely warm. it did not taste like potato or leek. i'm really not sure what it tasted like.

the scallops were the surprise of the evening. very flavorful and correctly prepared. the lentils were ok.

we enjoyed the vibe, location and design of the restaurant.

the cost of 2 entrees & 2 soups, tax & tip came to $75+ for the meal. no alcohol and no desert. very disappointing.

the value for the product received is just not there. we will not be back.

food was super, worth the wait. although, we had considered the roasted corn vendor down the street. if you have allergies beware at the bar. i ordered one drink and when i went back for a second i got something completely different. they never could tell me what the first drink was, narrowed down to two. they did comp me for the first drink, but if it had been something i was allergic to they would have needed to call 911.

a group of seven of us descended upon bolsa, choosing one of the patio's larger tables. a quick browse of the drinks menu and we found the oak cliff hot spot puts as much thought and seasonal ingredients into their drinks as they do their menu.

love the drinks, place, and atmosphere. the people are fun. i've been twice and i don't like the taste is the duck and the chicken. my mom can make it better. they need to work on the meats.

omg this place is amazing. beautiful presentation. fresh ingredients. unique cocktails--and i'm not a cocktail guy. i recommended the stubborn mule. my wife found this appropriate for me but it was delicious. atmosphere eclectic and romantic. we ordered a bunch of different things and shared. best in dallas for a good reason! go go go!

great service and great food. this has turned into one of our favorite restaurants in the neighborhood. the service is impeccable and the food offerings are outstanding. what a great little gem in the heart of the bishop arts district.

we arrived earlier than our reservation but were seated promptly. our server was quite helpful explaining menu choices and very attentive. the “pitcher” of mimosas is really a carafe of fresh squeezed orange juice and a well-chilled champagne. i highly recommend this libation—great price, as well. our food was phenomenal!

my friend and i eat here every time we are in the area. we live in a small town a couple hours away now, but bolsa is always first on the list for us when we stay in the bishop arts district. we always start with the bruschetta appetizer. love it. we have tried various things on the menu and never been disappointed. last night i had the lamb sausage with risotto and my husband had schnitzel (on restaurant week menu). just so delicious. oh and my favorite drink is the mad hatter....not on the menu, but ask for it, yummy.

great place for a sunday brunch. expect a long wait and if the weather is good sit on the patio. food quality is good - but sadly they no longer have the bottomless mimosas. perhaps people were not leaving the restaurant until dinner time. ;)
