the mesa
found theboathouseon urbanspoon, while on a business trip. loved the location and enjoyed a nice walk on the beach after dinner. food was just ok. service wasn't great. i left something (a low cost, small trinket) i had purchased earlier that day, and they gave me a hard time about mailing it to me. wasn't impressed.

disappointment.boathouseat hendry's beach has a great location and a nice enough restaurant but the food my partner and i had was both over priced and tasteless. both main dishes were fish (i think) and for appies i had the calamari which was ok but way too salty and he had crab which had obviously been frozen and was extremely watery. the bartenders were apparently very good and capable of keeping up with a crush at the bar and serving staff were ok. all in all not an experience i would like to repeat when there are so many other restaurants to eat out in in santa barbara.

the wedge salad at theboathouseat hendry's beach was so fresh, so sunny and joyful i felt i had been transported to a commercial for lemon scented shampoo. from the first bite my soul soared, my skin tingled.
