blue star brewing company restaurant & bar

looks great but dissapointing food. the hummus tasted like paste. my fish tacos were very bland. they were served with beans that tasted like the were dumped out of a can. sadly, we won't bebackhere.

met up with some friends here recently and really enjoyed the old brewery atmosphere. the sangria was really great and the fried mushrooms were some of the biggest i have ever seen or eaten in my life! service was outstanding! would like onebackand try more menu items!

dropped in for a couple of beers. this is a cool place to hang out. cold beer, nice folks, inexpensive. i didn't try the food but what i observed coming out to the tables... it looked and smelled great. everyone seemed to enjoy the food. i'll bebackto check it out. neat, safe place in the artsy district. more to follow... enjoy!

wow! lets just say that i should have read these reviews prior to going to blue star!! service was terrible terrible terrible! my husband and i met for lunch there today. he ordered water from the waitress. 15 minutes later our water arrived. we placed our order of hummus (appetizer)m, a salad and a burger. 30 minutes later, our appetizer of hummus arrived! 15 min later we asked about our main entrees. waitress told us they'd be right out! 10 min later, still no food! by then, our lunch hour was way over! we got up and left but not before complaining to the manager who ever so graciously gave us a gift certificate to dinner for two! now why why why would i want to gobackthere again????!! oh and the waitress seemed kind of offended when she had to tell the cooks to cancel our order!

mmm not so savvy. poor service and choices!! it's a brew pub! can the chef and getbackto basics. my 2 cents.

i liked the atmosphere. everything else was disappointing.
didn't have the appetizer we wanted. forgot what my wife ordered and had to comeback10 minutes after we ordered because she had no choice. how else is she going to get around not having her order. she should have asked for my order again, too.
we ordered two steak and cheese sandwiches and got two egg sandwiches when they arrived 45 minutes later. not to worry, they had some half raw steak sandwiches out to us in ten minutes.
so they screwed up three out of four orders and it took them close to an hour to do it.
if i was a drinker on a nice fall evening i would go back. but since i'm not i will never set foot in there again.

great beer. i love going to breweries.... i like the atmosphere of blue star, and when it is not 100 degrees it's nice to sit outside. went this past sunday and it was not great. i got the chicken and artichoke pizza and it was overcooked. then i got the coconut cream pie for desert. it was creamy, but did not have a strong coconut flavor. on the other hand, the beer was cold and delicious. that can usually make up for a lot. i will bebackagain, hopefully the food will be as good as the beer.

good and bad experiences. we had a great experience and then a bad experience there in the same week. the first evening my husband and i took our dog for a lovely walk on the river. after the walk we stopped at blue star brewing for drinks and nachos. the waitress on the patio welcomed our dog and even brought her a dish of water to drink. i really enjoyed the sangria and the bean nachos. we enjoyed the experience so much that we took my parents, our two kids and the dogbacka few days later for a walk on the river and dinner on the blue star patio. after we placed our dinner order the manager came out and told us they didn't allow dogs. it was too hot to leave the dog in the car so my husband had to drive home to drop off the dog and come back. we wouldn't have minded them not allowing dogs but they had just welcomed the same dog a few days before with open arms. so we were confused and upset about the unexpected eviction of the dog. the service was also very slow that night so it was a disappointing experience all around.

food was bad. food sucked big time, wayyyyy too expensive for what you get, will not be goingbackagain, even service wasn't that good at all.
