favorite brunch spot. it's amazing how snooty thelouisvillefood scene must have become. seems like everyone wants to hate a place now, and when someone does they want to pile on. blue dog makes the best breads in the city and the food is terrific. this is our favourite spot to stop for brunch on weekends and when i haven't been in a while i miss going in. and, it's not just the food, the service here is terrific. everyone smiles and makes sure you have what you need. exactly how good service should be. the service is quick, the food is quick, but remember you went out for breakfast or brunch, not mcdonald's. if you need someone to ask you if things are ok 100 times during your visit you should put down your phones and learn how to carry a conversation with the person you came with.

how could you not love it?. i do not work there, but i could eat here everyday of my life! hands down, the best bread inlouisville(many restaurants serve it)! the staff is not rude, they are just very busy. learn patience! best raspberry iced tea, scones(if any are left), poached eggs, wheatberry salad, and anything from a pig or hog. just ask the red headed guy, he'll tell you all about those hogs. i must end with the pizzas! each is a work of art and a treat to your taste buds. you will never view pizza the same! take some bread home and freeze it! on a date night, thaw it, reheat as the bag tells you. provide your own cheese, fruit, and red wine, and light a candle or two! the blue dog bread will make for a perfect evening, the rest is up to you! by the way, i will always go back!

give it a try. if you are looking for a loaf of sunbeam, then i do not suggest blue dog. however, if you are looking for excellent bread, friendly service, and fantastic breakfast, then you should definitely go here. it is one of my favorite places inlouisvilleby far.

bdb -- lose the attitude, it doesn't become you. as a transplanted san franciscan from louisville, i have watched (and, on visits, eaten) aslouisvillehas become a restaurant town of very high quality. finally, louisvillehas bread which competes with acme, semifreddi, and other artisanal breads here, the best of which rival paris's poilane offerings. so this note is to bdb employees: you're selling a nonpareil product, but that doesn't make you cool. you didn't bake the bread-- you're selling it. what would be really cool? for you to create a culture of friendliness and accessibility at the store. i encourage you to get to the next level -- enjoy yourselves at your work, and enjoy your customers. wait staff and counter staff out here do, and they work just as many (if not more) tats and piercings. and to your baker -- your fanatical focus on quality is much admired by thislouisvilleex-pat-- as are your unbelievable chocolate chip cookies!
