overlooking the kbr park above starbucks in jubilee hills lies blue block club with its black and blue colour theme. it's agoodplace if you plan to spend your weekend partying. the place ticks all the right boxes when it comes to music, ambience and food. let's get started with the food shall we?

1) melon punch
price - 249₹
taste - 4/5 ( if you like the combination of watermelon and ginger, then look no further. it has a strong gingery taste to it.)

2) french fries salt and pepper
price - 199₹
taste - 3/5 ( serving portion was great. however the fries were on the saltier side.)

3) non veg tandoori platter
price - 999₹
taste - 5/5 ( comes with 4-5 pieces each of lamb boti kebab, malai chicken with cheese, tandoori chicken, basa fish kebab, prawn tikka and chicken hariyali kebab)

4) lamb boti kebab
price - 399₹
taste - 3/5 (serving portion again is way too less. and the meat was on the drier side. thats a big no for me.)

5) baby corn 65 style
price - 4/5
taste - 249₹

6) peri peri paneer tikka
price - 5/5
taste - 325₹ (arguably one of the best paneer tikkas i've had in my life till date. a beautiful combination of tikka masala and peri peri masala. just go for it)

7) chicken pepper
price - 325₹
taste - 3/5 ( nothing too peppery about this dish. the chili sauce was the saving grace for this dish. if it's a pepper based dish, you got to add a lot of pepper.)

8) spicy chicken pizza (thin crust)
price - 5/5
taste - 449₹ (this pizza was a treat for me. beautiful thin crust pizza topped with pickled jalapenos, olives and juicy chicken. the pizza itself wasn't spicy. but i'm not complaining either. it is a great pizza. add some chilli flakes if you want some more spice)

the name blue block club pretty much gives you an idea as to what to expect from this place on road no.92 of jubilee hills. right above starbucks, it's a club with a brilliant, vibrant blue theme that takes you by surprise even during the daytime. the ceiling has been smartly done with suspended black ropes. the high chairs with blue cushions complement the vibe of the place. the lush green view of the kbr park is a bonus. overall, blue block club doesn't go all funky crazy with its ambiance. it is a class act in pub architecture. i loved the place.

so when we say words like club, pub, and bars; what do you expect? music, liquids, dance? and maybe food. that's how food is cold-shouldered at pubs. and i don't blame them. when people enter pubs, they rarely havegoodfood in mind. therefore the clubs invest a major chunk of their investment and focus on spirits and artist management. there are a handful of such places that can boast of great food. blue block is one of them.

this place serves great food.

so this is a food review. i was there for a sunday lunch. the vibe of the place was as lazy as a sunday afternoon could get. but their amazing food turned our lunch into a "pawwrry" of sorts!

we started with vol au vent, little puff pastries filled with veggies and topped with cheese. they tasted asgoodas they looked. i have had vol au vent before, but this one was way better. next up was burmese parcel, rolls stuffed with veggies and cheese. again, it was crispy and less oily which i kinda liked, but the last best burmese parcels i tasted had a cheesy filling, which i missed here. achari paneer tikka was just perfect. soft and fresh paneer and proper tikka flavors. no complaints here.

chicken lollipop was full of flavors but not something you would come back for.
seekh kebab was again perfect. nicely minced mutton and subtly spiced. i didn't like the unnecessary seasoning though.
blue block club's ghee roast has become the talk of the town, at least the foodieland. they have it both in chicken and mutton. it is beautifully served on lacha parathas. it is indeed one of the best ghee roast you can find in the city.
then came keema pav. a dish served at many pubs in the city. this one at blue block club is a 5/5 level. high-quality keema with the right flavors. i just thought it could've been a little oilier.
i saved the best for the last. the rara gosht. it was phenomenal! rara gosht is a popular north indian recipe made with mutton and minced mutton both. it has a sweet and tangy taste. many restaurants failed to bring this sweet and tangy combination properly. that's what bbc nailed here. i ate a full butter naan with it. don't miss rarha gosht at bbc.
then there was chicken pulav which was high on quality but unfortunately higher on spice. while most of my foodie buddies loved it i found it to be too spicy.

finally, i was so happy they had cheesecake in desserts. i had average expectations from them but the blueberry cheesecake blew my mind. it was just perfect in every department. the density of creamcheese, saltiness, sweetness, and softness. everything was on point.

if i go back to blue block club, it would be for the rara gosht with butter naan and blueberry cheesecake.

overall i loved the place. a club that has such a strong focus on food can not go wrong in its core competencies.

as the name suggests you think that a club which would be decored with blue color all over the place. yes it is the same, a small cosy place with elegant ambience along with rich blue in color, and the food being too good. i would say this place is an underrated club in the jubilee hills/ banjara hills area. blue block club is nestled in jubilee hills above starbucks & beside sofrehh. as soon as you enter you see the whole place is lit up with blue color and high rise seating. for some instances it also feels like you are organizing a party for your friends as blue color theme with somegoodfood. the place can easily accommodate about 50 -60 pax. the ambience is basically blue & black combination which looks soothing.

appetizers :-
we had started with “achari paneer tikka”, paneer was thoroughly marinated in the home made spices and cooled well in clay oven, and the texture of the paneer was soft and talking about the taste it was phenomenal, where ever you go the topping for the appetizers, wouldn’t be that great. but for this particular dish it was too good, when you have the paneer tikka with the mint chutney, you will be able to discover the paneer taste more than having it normal. next item was “burmese parcel” again no one can wrong with this dish. this was verygoodalong with the sweet sauce which was served as topping for this dish. next was the “baked cheese nachos” nachos weregoodalong withgoodamount of cheese. we also had mayonnaise, salsa & guacamole as topping for the dish, when you have with these toppings, it gives an added taste to the nachos.
talking about non-veg section we had “mutton ghee roast” the best mutton dish i had in my recent time. the mutton was very tender and flavourful where mutton had absorbed all the flavours & spices of the dish. this was served along with laccha paratha. must try dish from bbc. next was “kheema pav” another brilliant dish from the menu. kheema was flavourful and topped with butter which gave an added flavours to the dish.

maincourse :-
from the main course we had “spicy chicken pizza” which was verygoodwith the toppings, palate wise as well. you would be getting all the ingredients in one bite. next was the “mutton pulav” i can say star dish from the day. the rice was very well cooked along with the meat chunks and flavours which made the dish top-notch. the next one was “dal kichidi” star dish from the veg section, a kichidi done in correct manner.
we also had few mocktails, watermelon punch, bbc buster (pineapple based mocktail) & cocktail named cold whale were good.

well this is my opinion on blue block club where i was not having any expectations from this little place, but now it became a place that you must visit a list of mine. my fav picks would be mutton ghee roast, achari paneer tikka, burmese parcel, mutton pulav & dal kichidi.

ambience :- 5/5
taste :- 4.5/5
service :- 5/5
overall experience :- 5/5

as the name suggests the ambience has splendid blue theme with high chairs ,amazing view of the city which is making it the perfect place to hangout all day .
while coming to food
must haves here are
achari paneer tikka- although i am not big fan .of vegetarian dishes , this place have surprised me , the achari paneer tikka is very smooth ,moist ,perfectly balanced with spices and perfect appetiser to start your meal with
mutton ghee roast -the perfectly cooked mutton with lot of flavours , even though it has many very flavours it had that perfect balance and maintaining the optimum spice levels .it sure is a treat to your taste buds and the combination with lacha paratha really goes well.
kheema pav- after lockdown while many of us missing street food this dish is a saviour . while many restaurants offer pav dishes they generally lose the sole of the dish to make it restaurant worthy ,this place did not do that they have that masala and spice touch which makes dish totally perfect.
chicken lollipop- it was perfectly cooked with balanced flavours and great texture ,tastes amazing with the dip
burmese parcels - they are the perfect bite size cheesy parcels and really goes well with the dip
others dishes which i have tasted are
dal kichidhi - it was served with papad and achaar and tasted absolutely delicious
spicy chicken pizza - this is the perfect dish for spice lovers topped with bell peppers , jalapenos on a home baked thin crust pizza
mutton pulao- i felt this dish wasgoodbalanced flavours
brownie with icecream- simple classic perfect way to end your meal. absolutely loved the brownie it was smooth , moist and perfectly baked
food-4.5

blue block club
a new club opens up in the heart of the city ! located in jubilee hills right above starbucks this place has got alluring ambience with blue and black interior combination justifying their name ! with all high chairs and a music setup in the centre this place can accommodate upto 60 people ! the street view from the glass facade makes the experience more delightful ! hospitality here is top-notch and the staff were very helpful ! moving on to the food ! let's begin with the drinks first
bbc buster : with the goodness of pineapple ! it was tangy as it had mint dash of lime added to it along with black salt this mocktail was really refreshing!
watermelon punch : mocktail made of watermelon with a hint of lime ginger and basil i personally felt that basil was a bit dominant.
achari paneer tikka : i totally loved the flavours that paneer had it was moist super soft and high on flavours ! so far the best achari paneer tikka i had in town !
burmese parcel : so heavenly ! these were so addictive bite size mini pockets filled with cheesy veggies, served with a dip along side !
baked nachos : well nothing so fascinating just another regular appetizer given a healthy touch by baking the nachos and adding kidney beans and lots of fresh veggies served with salsa, mayo and guacamole dip !
chicken lollipop : i really liked the texture and flavours in each lollipop ! the meat was so tender and when had with the dip they tasted just amazing !
mutton ghee roast : one another star dish from this place. perfectly cooked mutton chunks placed on lacha paratha will surely make your day ! this dish is for the spice lovers !
kheema pav : absolutely delectable ! i'm sure you'll ask for extra pav as the kheema was so delicious make sure you squeeze a dash of lime and add some chopped onions to devour it the best way !
spicy chicken pizza : a thin crust pizza with spicy chicken, jalapenos, bell peppers and onions ! i personally felt that bell peppers were slightly extra well that can be cutdown apart from that everything was fine ! spice lovers do try this pizza for sure !!!
dal khichdi : i never knew a club would be serving thisgoodhomely food ! dal khichdi was lipsmacking ! it was served with pickle and papad i must say when had with pickle it tasted heavenly !
mutton pulao : this dish kinda lacked flavours for me i wasn't able to figure out what was off about it but surely something was missing in it ! although the rice was cooked to perfection the marination was well and the quantity wasgood!
brownie & icecream : super soft and gooey brownie topped with vanilla icecream dusted with caster sugar and plated with walnuts ! ending our meals to this dessert was a great delight !!!!!

must haves: achari paneer tikka, burmese parcel, mutton ghee roast, dal khichadi, mutton pulav and brownie.

rarely do we expect great food at clubs and mainly land up eating somewhere and going to a club. another reason is that club food is super expensive. what you you got both, delicious food and reasonable rate withgoodquality and quantity of food? this is one such place.

here's what all we had:
achari paneer tikka: absolutely delicious. highly recommended. the paneer was melt in the mouth and the achari masala was spot on. loved the fact that it wasn't overpowered by the achari flavours.

baked cheese nacho's: regular nachos, nothing exceptional. overgoodflavours and quantity.

burmese parcel: absolutely delicious and cheesy. the dipping sauce complimented the dish very well. packed with flavours. crunchy on the outside and warm filling in the inside.

dal khichdi: who doesn't love the humble dal khichadi? this is a great option for those who like eating healthy food. super homely flavours and the perfect consistency.
special mention to the achaar served alongside which was the star of the dish. so good!

spicy chicken pizza: generous with their toppings and cheese. the crust was perfect, not too thin, not too thick.

chicken lollipop: crunchy on the outside and perfectly cooked chicken drumsticks on the inside. the sauce served alongside is delicious too.

mutton ghee roast: well cooked tender juicy chunks of mutton cooked in ghee and masalas served with paratha.

mutton pulao: the charm of this dish was the marination on mutton chunks in it. the pulav was flavoured to perfection, rice cooked well and the meat, tender and juicy

keema pao: this was the star of the show. loved the fact that it was rich in flavours and not just the spice levels. the quantity of keema wasgoodwhen compared to the pricing.

chocolate brownie: the brownie was rich and super chocolatey. the pricing is decent compared to the serving portion. they were generous with the walnut garnishing which was only adding more flavour to the dish.

they have a wide yof mocktails and cocktails. the pricing is decent and the flavours are great.
we had watermelon punch, bbc buster ( pineapple one) and the whiskey based cocktail.

overall it's a small place that can accommodate 70-80 people. the food and beverages are outstanding and the pricing is low.

ambience: 4.25/5
food: 4.75/5
service: 4.25
overall: 4.5/5
