blue bar and restaurant

love the place! looked like a quaint little place from the outside, but it's actually pretty big. lovely ambiance. it was a little chilly outside but the heaters are pretty strong and keep you warm.
the service was very good. the girl who took our order was very friendly and patient.
thefoodwas really good. it was really well made and to our surprise the portion size was pretty big.

we had singapore chicken salad, potato bravas, a cous cous salad and a risotto dish.
the potato bravas is a must have, while i found the singapore chicken a bit too sweet for my palate. it was still well made though.

overall a good experience!

loved thefoodand the staff where friendly but did not like the place in which we were seated to near the fire and the smoke from it sort of ruined my first experience of the place, although we will be going back tonight so i shall see how i get on.

overrated restaurant! lovely space but thefoodthe main thing a disappointment ! i ordered a ckicken burger , the chicken was over cooked and so dry that was so hard to eat. as a starter the famous wings , tasty but over spicy. as a desert as a attempt to save the meal a blueberry cheesecake but again not tasty at all . i would suggest the space to enjoy a drink at the terrace with sea view or try the seafood , that's it !

this is a lovely place to have a drink or a to have a meal. they have different rooms inside and one terrace with sea view. inside it's really cozy and the staff is really nice. the prices are ok and thefoodis really good.

myself and friends went here last night celebrating a few birthdays, it wasn't anyone's first time being here. our table wasn't ready for the time it was booked for so we were left waiting but staff were very friendly. i ordered a pear mojito in the mean time - lovely. i always find bluesfoodto be quite average and if i don't order wings i feel like i'm left sitting there staring at the menu panicking what to order instead. i went with the chicken caesar salad, it was nice. i also tried the wings and garlic bread, both delicious - it made me regret not ordering the wings. others got the burger, wings, salmon, singapore salad and a goats cheese dish. there were no complaints about the food. after the meal, we went upstairs to the lounge where it was an okay atmosphere but not too packed. the bar staff were incredibly slow at serving and this was highly disappointing as they weren't under staffed or under too much pressure. overall, enjoyable experience but i'm not in a rush to get back.

this place is renowned for its long waits for a table and big portions of wings! i fancy myself a bit of a wing lover and i've found lately i've really gone off blue wings! they just don't do it for me anymore. so yesterday i ordered one of their new dishes rocket & prawn spaghetti with sun dried tomatoes in a juicy tomatoe sauce. there was a distinct lack of sun dried tomatoes which i was a bit peeved about as i was looking forward to them. we ordered cocktails to start instead of starters and i got the 'mint berry twist'... absolutely delish! overall everything was perfect apart from the slow service and ourfoodand drinks coming out in dribs and drabs (something i hate!)

love love love this place 💕 such a great view and great atmosphere in the place. theirfoodis so tasty and have a great selection. the staff are always so pleasant and helpful.

quite simply this was spot on! fab restaurant! really friendly staff andfoodwas great! i booked a table for two 2 hours before we got there, no hassle getting the table, but i would recommend booking! the atmosphere was great on a sunday evening! i ordered the prawns pil pil and they were so tasty and fresh! had a small portion of chicken wings for main and they were yummy too! definitely try the house gin and elderflower tonic 👌👌 all round great spot!

honestly cannot rate this place any higher ! blue bar has everything you want in a casual restaurant from the views, the interior to the unbelievable menu . thefoodhere is always good and it's obvious why this place is always packed. it's been said by many that they probably do the best wings in dublin ! many different salads, burgers and amazing desserts to choose from. but you can't go here without getting even a starter portion of the wings you won't be disappointed :)

i heard such amazing reviews of the chicken wings in blue bar i had to pay a visit. 45mins drive from the city out to skerries had my appetite primed. the room was filled with lovely booths but as there were only 2 of us we were seated at a high table at the bar which was a bit off-putting as the bar staff were working on top of us. after much deliberation we decided to split a portion of wings and a pulled pork sandwich but were disappointed to discover there was no pulled pork available. we ordered 2 large portions of wings on advice from the waitress but soon discovered that one large portion would have been loads for 2 hungry people, disappointing as the portions were €14 each without sides. the sides menu strangely has 3 different types of chips which aren't varied enough to be justified. we ordered 2 different types which turned out to be very small for €4/5 each and the chunky fries must have been the end of a batch as they were shrivelled and contained minimal potato. the wings themselves were deliciously messy and covered in a house sauce, not the standard franks which i liked, but they turned out to be resolutely mediocre and after 5/6 wings they became a bit of a chore, not the magical feed i was expecting. we shared a brownie for dessert which was nice but a bit dry by the time someone remembered to bring us cutlery to eat it with. i can see the appeal of blue bar as a local spot and some of thefoodaround us looked delicious but i wouldn't go out of your way, the service was poor and the reputation of the wings as among the best in dublin is completely unwarranted.

i'd heard about the wings in blue bar for a while and had been dying to try them out! happy to say they didn't disappoint-foodwas amazing and they had delicious deserts! place was absolutely jammers which is great that it has such a good reputation and client base!
only downside was we were waiting ages for a table. at the time they didn't take bookings but hopefully that's not the case now. would deter me from going again though- will definitely go again!

this is a mixed review! i hate to say this as i was a huge fan of blue bar for so long but lately it's gone a bit hit or miss for me :(

my most recent visit was st.patricks day and granted it was very busy but a certain member of staff forgot to bring her hospitality manners to work with her! we asked if we could each pay separately for our bill as some of our party only went for one course with no alcohol but the staff were unable to help us and a friend of mine was shown a pencil and told to work it out herself! also we were overcharged for one milkshake which we only realised after we had left ;(

blue wings are famous! although sometimes they're not as juicy and succulent as they could be. on more than one occasion i've been served wings that taste as if they may have been reheated as the meat is a bit chewy and tough.

then again i've also enjoyed the most delicious wings ever on many occasions.

thefoodis generally very good and it's the perfect venue for friends nights out - cocktails are fab and you can pop up to the bar upstairs after your meal.

it's also a great spot for family sunday dinners and birthday meals with a warm cosy atmosphere.

in a great location in skerries, everyone seems to go here for the wings, i went here in september and it was a great place to watch the sunset, i was with a group of friends and we sat outside. the service and the atmosphere is really relaxed. thefoodwas delicious too, i got the goats cheese salad definitely recommend it!

i was recommended blue bar as the best place for a bite to eat in skerries, and i certainly wasn't let down. it was gorgeous! the place looks great inside. we were greeted with a warm and friendly reception, in stark contrast to the cold november afternoon that was. everything on the menu looked great, and in the end i opted for the pulled pork sandwich (the chorizo and prawn linguine was a very close second.) it was huge. lots of succulent bbq-sauce-y pulled pork on a multi-grain bap, with home-made coleslaw and fries. by the time i'd cleaned my plate, there was unfortunately no room left for dessert, as good as it all looked. overall this was a great place to escape the rain while still having the harbour views, with greatfoodand even better service. loved it!
