blue bar and restaurant

love the place! looked like a quaint little place from the outside, but it's actually pretty big. lovely ambiance. it was a little chilly outside but the heaters are pretty strong and keep you warm.
the service was very good. the girl who took our order was very friendly and patient.
the food was really good. it was really well made and to our surprise the portion size was pretty big.

we had singapore chicken salad, potato bravas, a cous cous salad and a risotto dish.
the potato bravas is a must have, while i found the singapore chicken abittoo sweet for my palate. it was still well made though.

overall a good experience!

worth the trip from dublin!

well known for its wings, it doesn't disappoint. amazing place for comfort food! the wings are as good as you would expect: really crispy and tasty, spicy and abitzesty sauce. delicious!! we also got the baby back ribs and those were great, some of the best i got: falling off the bone and very yummy!
great shoe string like fries and good desserts, although the sticky toffee pudding was abiton the dry side with just average toffee. still, a good cake, just not as decadent as you would want!

this place is renowned for its long waits for a table and big portions of wings! i fancy myself abitof a wing lover and i've found lately i've really gone off blue wings! they just don't do it for me anymore. so yesterday i ordered one of their new dishes rocket & prawn spaghetti with sun dried tomatoes in a juicy tomatoe sauce. there was a distinct lack of sun dried tomatoes which i was abitpeeved about as i was looking forward to them. we ordered cocktails to start instead of starters and i got the 'mint berry twist'... absolutely delish! overall everything was perfect apart from the slow service and our food and drinks coming out in dribs and drabs (something i hate!)

i absolutely love blue bar, such a nice location and great food! the wings were phenomenal and if your going to make the trip out there i would definitely recommend them! i also got their toffee cheesecake which was delicious but very filling! their mojitos were also made perfectly! was overall really impressed! it came out to be abiton the pricey side but it was so worth it!

i go to blue bar a goodbitas they are famous for there wings ! the atmosphere is great and the environment is lovely for an evening out with friends . the view is also fabulous .
today i got the wings for starter and then another started of squid for my main .
i am not a big fan of wings at all but the wings were lovely and they always are . the squid was also great .
the meals are slightly over priced because it is such a popular restaurant .
however the staff are very rude which is a big let down . they got our table reservation wrong and left us waiting .
they were also rude when waiting our table .
this is blue bars only let down but i will go back .

have heard so much about their wings so had to give them a try! me and my friend got a small portion of the chicken wings each with fries and garlic bread on the side. the wings were covered in sauce! they were delicious but i prefer them a little crunchier then drowning in sauce! we also got a chocolate brownie and cheesecake for dessert - the brownie was so good but wasn't heated properly so the middle was still abitcold..! also had a solero cocktail - really really nice! definitely worth a visit for some wings and a few drinks😋

finally got around to trying the infamous wings from the blue bar in skerries. myself and roisin rooney got a large portion between us and we're not ashamed to admit we are the whole giant portion - damn worth it too!

other dishes we tried were the salt and chilli squid, patatas bravas and bread w/dip. the bravas and squid were very tasty vas went down a treat with the wings. the bread and dips however were abitof letdown, nothing special at all. this however wouldn't turn me off, i will be returning to blue and i look forward to it.

i heard such amazing reviews of the chicken wings in blue bar i had to pay a visit. 45mins drive from the city out to skerries had my appetite primed. the room was filled with lovely booths but as there were only 2 of us we were seated at a high table at the bar which was abitoff-putting as the bar staff were working on top of us. after much deliberation we decided to split a portion of wings and a pulled pork sandwich but were disappointed to discover there was no pulled pork available. we ordered 2 large portions of wings on advice from the waitress but soon discovered that one large portion would have been loads for 2 hungry people, disappointing as the portions were €14 each without sides. the sides menu strangely has 3 different types of chips which aren't varied enough to be justified. we ordered 2 different types which turned out to be very small for €4/5 each and the chunky fries must have been the end of a batch as they were shrivelled and contained minimal potato. the wings themselves were deliciously messy and covered in a house sauce, not the standard franks which i liked, but they turned out to be resolutely mediocre and after 5/6 wings they became abitof a chore, not the magical feed i was expecting. we shared a brownie for dessert which was nice but abitdry by the time someone remembered to bring us cutlery to eat it with. i can see the appeal of blue bar as a local spot and some of the food around us looked delicious but i wouldn't go out of your way, the service was poor and the reputation of the wings as among the best in dublin is completely unwarranted.

this is a mixed review! i hate to say this as i was a huge fan of blue bar for so long but lately it's gone abithit or miss for me :(

my most recent visit was st.patricks day and granted it was very busy but a certain member of staff forgot to bring her hospitality manners to work with her! we asked if we could each pay separately for our bill as some of our party only went for one course with no alcohol but the staff were unable to help us and a friend of mine was shown a pencil and told to work it out herself! also we were overcharged for one milkshake which we only realised after we had left ;(

blue wings are famous! although sometimes they're not as juicy and succulent as they could be. on more than one occasion i've been served wings that taste as if they may have been reheated as the meat is abitchewy and tough.

then again i've also enjoyed the most delicious wings ever on many occasions.

the food is generally very good and it's the perfect venue for friends nights out - cocktails are fab and you can pop up to the bar upstairs after your meal.

it's also a great spot for family sunday dinners and birthday meals with a warm cosy atmosphere.

blue is abitlegendary among the locals of skerries for their chicken wings but the entire menu is fairly solid. they have good beer on tap and their curry is excellent. lovely location for a family meal especially in the summer with the outside seating a great place to hang out.
