first visit and it was a great experience.goodwas tasty, attractive and a very nice selection. really liked the spanish meatballs from the tapas menu. took a bit longer than usual to get refills on our wine but otherwise the service was very good. we did not feel rushed. i look forward to going back next time i am in town.

bacon wrapped scallops with lobster mac and cheese. scallops were perfectly cooked and flavorful. lobster mac and cheese was full of nice chunks of lobster, pasta was nicely firm and just the right amount of tangy cheese.

another positive experience. i reviewed blau in 2012; my wife has been back several times with her girlfriends since...women like blau for lunch. she always tells me that they enjoy it.

i love their burger and find myself ordering it whenever i do go there albeit there are far more interesting options available. they have been consistent in making it the way i like it; medium rare.

last night we had a waitress who will be remembered. you know how every once in a while you get a wonderful wait staff person who actually cares about the job? well this young lady, savannah, gets it. let's hope she continues to do so and does not become jaded in what is a pretty tough industry.

my burger was spot on again. a very nice touch was that this huge burger was cut in half and faced back to back for all the world to see so to speak. it was a thing of beauty, if you are a burger lover as i am. great fries (always done well here) and the rest of our party enjoyed their salmon and veal chop, too.

we have been told that blau is expanding next door. they will be adding a full bar, televisions, etc. we wish them well. diners hopefully will continue to support places like blau, the dish, little italy past and pizza, etc. so that we can enjoy a variety of dining experiences in our wonderful town.

if they all do their part (consistency) as one of the other posters correctly suggests then we all need to do our part and frequent them.

second visit..very good. we had not been back since their opening and we're glad to see the food is still very good. yes, their burger and fries are very, verygoodas others have noted here. a bit pricy, but very good. others in our group all enjoyed their meals.

what i like most about this place is their food presentation. the kitchen does an excellent job. what i like least about the place is their service, which needs some improvement. but overall, it is fairly priced and a welcome addition to our local dining scene.

welcome to the neighborhood!. finally got to try this restaurant with another couple on a wednesday night. had a decent crowd, which we were all happy about. everyone wants a new restaurant to have success here; it's a small town.

they have done a nice job of converting the space from a former mexican restaurant...nothing fancy mind you but visually interesting. i'd say it's slightly comfortable....

the name is tough to remember. the printed menu is different and frankly a little tough to read. they are trying some new ideas and that's always a bit risky. but, kudos for taking some chances.

the prices are reasonable and the food and service were both good. it is definately worth your trying.

my only real criticism was their "over the top" version of ice tea. it comes to your table freshly brewed and hot. they cool it down twice before you can get your hands on it so it takes some time. is it worth the production tableside? not to me. and, it is definately not worth the price..$4.75.

very impressed. been a resident of ormond beach since 1954 and been in the neighborhood of this restaurant for 23 years. i was so impressed with our lunch experience, that i hope that other locals will discover this place and have asgoodas a dining experience as i had, cause i sure hope this fella makes it .

a bit like alice in wonderland. this restaruant is a bit like alice. she gets big, she gets small, she gets confused, she wants it all. overall, this restaraunt is a welcome addition to an area sorely lacking ingoodnon chain restaraunts. the menu concept is fresh and generally healthy. everything is made from scratch, as it should be, but rarely is these days. there are beautiful salads and great appetizers. however, the restaraunt has an issue of inconsistency. sometimes the food is great and the service is bad. sometimes the service is great, but the food is lacking. on that beautiful day when the birds sing just right, the service and food are great. you just don't know which alice you will get. if the owner can work out the kinks, alice will make it out of the hole and we will have a new wonderland in ormond beach. :)

finally. my lady and i waited a long time for this restaurant to finally open up. the interior was different. a little too dark for my taste because the menus were hard to read since they are also dark.

service was lovely. i had the onion soup which was delicious. my lady had the calamari which was also delicious. the house wine pinot gregio wasgoodbut a little high.

overall i would say that they should be successful if they advertise and get the word out. i wish them luck.

blau = pow!. i am new to this area and after searching urban spoon for a place to celebrate our anniversary and my husband's upcoming birthday, we chose blau. we are so glad we did. the atmosphere was great, service on top and most important of all the food we selected from the menu was delicious! artichoke fritters, calamari, caprese salad, rack of veal and salmon. followed by grilled white peaches and crema catalana. we have had the opportunity to eat all around the world and this was as delicious. i know there are some mixed reviews on here. i don't know if the people that rated their experience are difficult to please, or if they happened to hit an off night. we will be back and i look forward to trying more items from the menu. thanks for a wonderful evening. the only negative thing i have to say is the wine list was very difficult to read, printed on dark paper and the lights were dim. even the waiter (who was in training) did agoodjob.

disappointment. almost nothing went right on saturday night !!! the wife and i, along with her brother and his wife; dined in this " fine dining/ tapas" eatery. previous reviews and the in laws previous visits were very good. everyone was looking for agoodexperience. but alas this was not meant to be. from the time our drink orders where taken to the end of the meal, this was nothing but a series of inept service and managerial incompetence. deep breath, here we go; the drink order for one pitcher of beer and two glasses of wine, came out one wine short , not corrected until appetizers served, one appetizer was not correct and more time wasted. two out of four entrees served, which on a positive note were good, waiter confused about what had happened, multiple excuses made. manager spoken to he was very cordial but really did nothing to help the situation. after at least twenty to thirty minutes the other two entrees found their way to our table, one of which was a grilled veal dish that was basically inedible, this piece of meat was nothing but fat and should never have been served. manager still smiling and flirting with staff while all this going on, oblivious to the situation. veal returned and replaced with a free dessert . this establishment looks good, sounds exciting; but if this is going to be the manner in which it is going to run, i am afraid that this establishment will follow the path so so many eateries. the path leading to another empty store front and the sour experience of having a failed restaurant.

late lunch. a friend and i are always looking forgoodplaces to eat in this area. blau certainly fits the bill perfectly. we stopped in late saturday afternoon. what a great place. taylor was our server. he was very helpful with his suggestions for food and wine. we had the serrano ham and mushroom crepe, mediterranean salad and caprese pizzette. fantastic. will definitely be returning. check out this gem for an incredible eating experience.
