first visit and it was a great experience. good was tasty, attractive and a very nice selection. really liked the spanish meatballs from the tapas menu. took a bit longer than usual to get refills on our wine but otherwise the service was very good. we did not feel rushed. i look forward to going back next time i am in town.

bacon wrapped scallops with lobster mac and cheese. scallops were perfectly cooked and flavorful. lobster mac and cheese was full of nice chunks of lobster, pasta was nicely firm and just the right amount of tangy cheese.

usually we love it here - been off lately. usually we are big fans of blau
but last two visit were ok and horrible
food had no taste and no management to be found
i even sed an email to their website and no one responded
another bad sign

this place is so hit and miss. i guess it depends on who's doing the cooking. the menu needs an overhaul. i wish they had more than just beer and wine.

should be named blah. after so many positive reviews, i was disappointed that our experience wasn't better. it wasn't awful by any means, but mediocre at best. our waitress was friendly but inattentive, which is weird considering there were three waitstaff and ours was one of only two occupied tables. several things we wanted to order, both food and drinks, were no longer carried by blau, even though they were still on the menu. the hummus was very good, as were the meatballs. the chorizo looked like packaged slices of meat served over croutons, and the calamari was only so-so. i had a cafe mocha and it was very good. we ordered two desserts, but only received one...by that point we didn't bother to try and get the second one, just finished our meal and moved on. i do have to say that the restaurant was indeed kid-friendly, with several kids meals, a paper tablecloth, and bowls of crayons for the kids to color on the tablecloth with. the decor inside is beautiful. overall, i wasn't impressed, but i wasn't offended either. it was just..."blah".

another positive experience. i reviewed blau in 2012; my wife has been back several times with her girlfriends since...women like blau for lunch. she always tells me that they enjoy it.

i love their burger and find myself ordering it whenever i do go there albeit there are far more interesting options available. they have been consistent in making it the way i like it; medium rare.

last night we had a waitress who will be remembered. you know how every once in a while you get a wonderful wait staff person who actually cares about the job? well this young lady, savannah, gets it. let's hope she continues to do so and does not become jaded in what is a pretty tough industry.

my burger was spot on again. a very nice touch was that this huge burger was cut in half and faced back to back for all the world to see so to speak. it was a thing of beauty, if you are a burger lover as i am. great fries (always done well here) and the rest of our party enjoyed their salmon and veal chop, too.

we have been told that blau is expanding next door. they will be adding a full bar, televisions, etc. we wish them well. diners hopefully will continue to support places like blau, the dish, little italy past and pizza, etc. so that we can enjoy a variety of dining experiences in our wonderful town.

if they all do their part (consistency) as one of the other posters correctly suggests then we all need to do our part and frequent them.

second visit..very good. we had not been back since their opening and we're glad to see the food is still very good. yes, their burger and fries are very, very good as others have noted here. a bit pricy, but very good. others in our group all enjoyed their meals.

what i like most about this place is their food presentation. the kitchen does an excellent job. what i like least about the place is their service, which needs some improvement. but overall, it is fairly priced and a welcome addition to our local dining scene.

welcome to the neighborhood!. finally got to try this restaurant with another couple on a wednesday night. had a decent crowd, which we were all happy about. everyone wants a new restaurant to have success here; it's a small town.

they have done a nice job of converting the space from a former mexican restaurant...nothing fancy mind you but visually interesting. i'd say it's slightly comfortable....

the name is tough to remember. the printed menu is different and frankly a little tough to read. they are trying some new ideas and that's always a bit risky. but, kudos for taking some chances.

the prices are reasonable and the food and service were both good. it is definately worth your trying.

my only real criticism was their "over the top" version of ice tea. it comes to your table freshly brewed and hot. they cool it down twice before you can get your hands on it so it takes some time. is it worth the production tableside? not to me. and, it is definately not worth the price..$4.75.

very impressed. been a resident of ormond beach since 1954 and been in the neighborhood of this restaurant for 23 years. i was so impressed with our lunch experience, that i hope that other locals will discover this place and have as good as a dining experience as i had, cause i sure hope this fella makes it .

luncheon at blau. today, just like every time we have gone to blau, we were delighted! very friendly and knowledgeable waiter (tyler), excellent salad and service, warm atmosphere and no one rushed us! what could be nicer! thank you!!

great vegetarian options - cool music - cool vibe

good food, upscale food, interior and furnishings are compromised somewhat by a waitress in a beach t-shirt and a lip ring. although the service was good, her appearance was incongruous with the restaurants target audience.

great food, great service, and great staff. tyler is an awesome worker and knows a lot about the company and the menu. you need to keep him for many years to come!!

love it! we've been there a few times and really enjoy it each time. the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly and the food is great! the saganaki is my new favorite thing and my husband loves the milkyway cheesecake. we decided that is our go to place to bring out of town guests.

this is the second time i have eaten here and both times, they have been out of standard menu items. the server was apologetic about being out of items, but i find this inexcusable at 8:30pm. i had the scallop special and it was very good.

i am similar to a few other reviews. rarely do i ever feel the need to comment on any restaurant let alone take the time to write a review. this place is unbelievable. the food was so intelligently prepared, its almost a shame to not somehow reflect its gourmet-like taste on the menu. do yourself a favor and go to this place. every single item we had was 100% over our expectations. this chef knows what he/she is doing. best food i've had in fl hands down. **and i have absolutely no affiliation with them!!

i can honestly say that this is one of the greatest restaurants i have ever eaten at. the food is outstanding, from the appetizers to the entrees to the mouthwatering dessert selection. blau is an eating experience like no other. i highly recommend it.

the restaurant was lovely, inviting, and comfortable! the staff was very friendly. food is awesome! we tried the bruschetta and roasted asparagus tapas which were delicious!
