bistro baffi

it is nice to have a great menu, great food all prepared and served by a team of people that host. i always feel very welcomed and it ripples through the restaraunt. you walk in and you know they are happy to see you. from appetizers to wine to martinis to dinner to desert - you are going to enjoy.

a great find!. my son took his younger brother and me to your restaurant for a combined belated birthday and mother's day celebration.

he drove from olympia and chose your restaurant for a number of reasons.

1. your location is easily accessed and not a hassle to find parking.
2. food is delicious--one of our favorites is your lamb dish.
3. the consistent good quality of your menu.
4. your tiramisu is still the best we have sampled from many restaurants.
5. conversation can occur without loud acoustics!

for me the hydrangea blooming in your front entry pots seemed artificial--so garden perfect! it was a treat for my eyes as i viewed them from my table inside your restaurant.

we left feeling very satisfied and glad we had this time together. i am recovering from open heart surgery so this was a particularly special gathering for me to be with my two sons. thank you again--we'll be back!

absolutely amazing!. i highly recommend bistro baffi to everyone who wants to enjoy an absolutely out of this world meal for a very much down to earth price. i've been treating myself with chef michael's food for years now, and it was perfectly cooked and amazingly tasty every single time. the authentically made tiramisu is a must! the service is fantastic, fast, and efficient. it always feels like every guest is getting special attention.
last but not least, an evening spent in the ultimate mediterranean ambiance that bistro baffi provides is so relaxing and uplifting that it loads my batteries every time. it feels like i spent an evening in northern italy, but is way more affordable then that.

the specials..... i have eaten at bistro baffi a few times and have really enjoyed the experience. from the showing of the food and full explanations of each dish, to the table visit by the chef it is truly a fun dining experience. you feel like a regular in an old charming italian town. we were there on a tuesday and asked what was fresh that day. both our waitress and the chef recommended the new york steak they had just gotten in, they promised it would melt like butter in your mouth and it did not disappoint. the steak was huge too, had plenty to take home. the penne pasta side in pink sauce was also very good, and made a good lunch the next day. they do not rush you out the door so it is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy a real meal, not a mass produced menu. we also had the halibut and they explained the preparation so well i was able to recreate it at home, but not quite as delicious as they did, but close. the service was attentive but not intrusive, very professional. lets try to keep this secret delight a little secret between us.

i was hoping to like it but it just fell short. man who told us he owned the place had a very awkward table side presence, struggled to answer questions and was all thumbs. weird hovering about. food was mediocre at best. salad was poorly dressed and bland. pasta was slightly undercooked. i can barely remember what we had since it was so under average. i dont recommend. staff was trying and pleasant but just fell short.

excellent food and service! outstanding wine list at a fair price. mike and dinka, the owners, make each guest feel like family...not to mention staff. i worked for them for 2 years! best employer ever.

not kid friendly. servers seemed annoyed at the presence of my 4 year old (who was actually on her best behavior) & another little girl at the table next to us. they gave my daughter a stemmed glass for her water. (the girl at the next table spilled hers of course). food was mediocre.

tucked away treasure. ambiance was great. we had a larger party and they sat us in a private room that was very cool looking. service staff was great and took the time to present some very interesting specials. it was very cool to have the chef come out and help serve the food, both salad's and main courses. and of course the food was amazing. worth every penny. this place is not easy to find, and don't be put off by the fact that it's next to a hardware store in a strip mall. this place rocks.

great find!. what can i say about this wonderful little restaurant that hasn't already been said? from the minute you enter you are warmly greeted by chef michael who is often cooking away in the kitchen. the food is outstanding, served fresh and prepared by an exceptional chef. the servers are very knowledgable of the menu and wine list and the atmosphere is lovely. you'll love it from beginning to end!

bistecca romano ( filet minion) was amazing. fantastic wine selection; amazing homemade pasta. wonderful service !! can't wait to come again and again!

best italian food ever!. we drove all the way from kirkland, after seeing the mystery diners episode about chef michael. the restaurant is cozy and elegant, and the paintings are truly amazing. our server was very knowledgeable describing probably 15 or more specials on two separate trays. i had homemade venison cannelloni that literally melted in my mouth. my husband ordered the rib eye steak that was cooked to perfection. for dessert we had tiramisu and it was, indeed, light and fluffy just as the server described it! for the after dinner drink ,we enjoyed 20 years old port wine, that was unlike any other port we ever tried before. a little pricey , but very well worth the money. we can't wait to come back and bring our friends to bistro baffi!

wonderful food but.... bistro baffi, a small, romantic italian restaurant located in burien, came across as perfect. the warm environment, is so romantic. the servers were very professional, presenting numerous items to us with such ease. our service was phenomenal. the food was some of the best as well, but sadly we will not be returning to bistro baffi. there was a tall brunette; lead server i might assume? who was painfully loud and negative while we tried to enjoy our meal. she yelled at one of the servers right in front of our table, rather than taking her into the back to talk to her as a leader might have done appropriately. in the kitchen, i could hear the chef yelling as well. like i had said previously, the food and service was outstanding, but the leaders in the restaurant made us feel so uncomfortable due to the blatant disrespect they showed their employees, we will not return. the tall brunette lady needs to be removed from the staff permanently, i believe, because it seems like a very unstable work and customer environment.

happy valentine's day!!  we celebrate ours a day early to avoid all the hubbub and the disappointment of florists running out of red roses, like this post . my husband took me out, but didn't tell me where we were going.  he was adamant we leave by a certain time.  i knew we were going out to dinner, but he usually doesn't rush.  so i thought maybe we were going to a theater or dinner and a show.  instead it was dinner from a show. :)  a few days ago, we were watching tv and mystery diners from food network came on.  the restaurant featured was from burien, wa, so we decided to continue watching it.  the restaurant is called bistro baffi and i started laughing when i found out that's where we were dining. as soon as we walked in, we recognized one of the servers from the show and chef michael was walking around talking to customers.  he was even delivering food and showing specials.  he disappeared when it started getting busy. our server happened to be stacy, whom we are pretty sure i

what a find!. from the moment we walked in, it was a wonderful, memorable experience. it's a little out of the way, and not what you might expect (in a really good way). we were immediately greeted by the warm and friendly staff and were lucky to get a cozy table by the fire. since this was our first time, we looked to our server for guidance and suggestions. we eat out quite often and i have to say it is often the service that disappoints. this however was not the case. our server, stacey, knowledgeably walked us through the menu, offering suggestions with expertise and and flair. we started with the stuffed-mushroom appetizer followed by the caesar salad, and finally for me the succulent scallop entree. my husband had the fillet which he said was the most tender and flavorful steak he's had. everything was delicious! our server was also extremely helpful in choosing a wine which perfectly complemented the meal. the food was amazing; the ambiance warm and inviting; however...it was the service that put the entire experience over the top. i can't recommend bistro baffi enough. go tonight and ask for stacey, you'll be glad you did.
