i think it's difficult to avoid "brunch" when you're off for a weekend trip with your significant other in a place that happens to have a few good places that do brunch. granted, we didn't go during a normalbrunchhour (we actually went pretty early in the morning) but the restaurant supposedly has a goodbrunchand dang good breakfast too. with their food being made from scratch, bill's cafe is a small "chain" in the sense that there are four of them in the sj area but local since they stay in the community. they open early and close early. we had wanted to go to this one because it's the original. it was also nice that monday through friday you can get half a benny (benedict) and other items discounted in the early morning hours. we met some fun, smiling people outside of the restaurant, and upon entering, we saw old-school decor w

great brunch. at the suggestion of a wise man a group of us chose bill's forbrunchon several occasions.
warning: there will be a wait. yes it is worth it.
i had the chilaquiles with hashbrowns the first go round - eggs were a little dry but the dish was overall delicious. the fresh squeezed orange juice mimosa with orange slices and strawberries is well worth it.
second go round i tried the mexicali benedict - outstanding. toasted english muffin, avocado, pulled pork, poached egg and fresh salsa. if you go once and this sounds good, order it. one person ordered the french toast parisienne (french toast croissant) and they said it was to die for.
