love. love, love this place. first off, i don't feel like the $$ sign is accurate. just about every main dish on this menu is $3.50-7. $ sign and great restaurant.
second, i don't know what the other reviewers are complaining about. i've been here 5 times and just found this place about a month ago. i've tried a different thing on the menu every time. the staff is helpful at figuring out what you'd like to try if you can't decide. the place is not always full. i've gone at different times during the day, and there were hardly any other people waiting ever. biggest crowd for me was about 5 other people and they weren't in line. perhaps it's a student hangout though and i've just been going during breaks and finals. every time i've been served within 5 or 10 minutes. it is sort of like fast food without the fast food taste, and they call your name and you pick your food up at the counter (which has left me wondering where the water and spoons were, but someone has helped me).
as far as the food, it is very good. i managed to spend about $8 on a meal that kept me full the entire day. almost everything on the menu is under $5. i've tried the ceviche (yes! they do have ceviche!) i enjoyed it immensely. i tried a breakfast item that was slightly above mediocre, one that may have been improvised or it could have been the "5th amendment taco" which doesn't have a description, but they will tell you what it is. i know i've had another taco and maybe a burrito and a taco, but i don't remember the names. both were outstanding. and suprise!! the food is extremely healthy. bottom line: it's one of the best values if this is the type of place you're looking for.
so, on to the atmosphere. it has the hipster/college feel. it's got warm orange walls which i think would be nice for a casual meeting place with either friends or a first date. they have background music going on. i think i heard radiohead once and some other stuff i recognized the melody to. i haven't spent much time in the paseo area since i'm new here from 8 years in norman, but btt seems to have a norman vibe to it.
please don't listen to the other reviews. give this place at least one more chance if you don't like the food the first time. it's well worth it. let the people behind the counter know what you'd like and need. they are more than happy to provide you with the best advice to make this a good experience.
