big roddy's rippin' rib shack

by far the best ribs in all of brisbane, with many american style restaurants popping up big roddy's reigns supreme. the wait onfoodis incredible short with ribs always cooked to perfection and the burgers are to die for. with 3 monthly changing beers on tap as well as their own champion brew lagar they really have all bases covered with this home run of a restaurant. big roddy and his staff are always warm and welcoming. have been back multiple times and will definitely be back again. #reviewchallenge

came for dinner on mothers day. i must say the staff are super friendly and helpful. thefoodarrived amazingly fast after ordering. first tried the chicken strips with lime and pepper mayo to start which were amazingly juicy. the crumbing was super crunchy and not oily. the lime & pepper mayo had a zing and blew me away - 4.5/5. sharing the pork and beef ribs and there was heaps of meat on the beef ribs. the pork ribs were ok but i felt i had better flavoured pork ribs at ribs & rumps and smoke bbq in new farm. but the beef ribs were the best i've had so far. so full of flavour and fall off the bone! 4.5/5. i must also mention the coleslaw! it was so fresh and crunchy. i was expecting some pre-prepared soggy kfc style coleslaw, but no no no!! this was fresh and crunchy, a wonderful side to the ribs. the sweet potato fries were soft in the centre and crispy on the outside, very nicely cooked and not oily.
i finally got here and wasn't disappointed. 4/5.

authentic americanfoodand amazing service!! awesome vibe too and the people who work there look after you really well. beef ribs were cooked to the perfection! the meat was so tender it literally fell off the bone as soon as we cut it! the pork ribs were equally as good just wish that we had ordered more. we ordered wings too and the sauce was so good - tasted like the authentic american wings! the sauces were free which made the whole experience even better! #reviewchallenge

holy wow.
originally came here after seeing they offer chilli cheese fries. i've been 3 times now and have still yet to have the chilli cheese fries. this is with good reason, however. they offer the holy grail of foods; poutine (with real cheese curd too!). after over-indulging myself on poutine while in toronto i thought i'd never have true poutine again and would have to settle for chips, mozzarella, and gravy. happy to be proven wrong.

the first time we visited big roddy's was during peak hours of fish lane festival. though the shop was very crowded there was still space for two of us to squeeze in. service and delivery were both exceptionally fast and friendly. all customers seemed to be enjoying themselves.
the second time we had to bring some friends with us to experience the true epicness of this food. both of our friends were also extremely impressed with thefoodand portion size. was nice to see the owner out and about checking on customers too.

always telling friends about this place even recommended some our canadian customers who are convinced it's as good as the real thing!

have been here three times now and it has not disappointed. the quality and quantity of thefoodis always awesome. tonight i got a half rack of pork ribs with honey carrots and my partner got the fried chicken burger 'big roddy style'. it was all amazing, have also had the poutine which is to die for. the menu forfoodand drinks have a great variety. the environment is very new and trendy. the staff are friendly and welcoming. i will definatley be back! #reviewchallenge

as a completely independent, unbiased third partyfoodreviewer i can honestly say this restaurant is fantastic. all thefoodis delicious and the range of beers and wine is perfect. you can even ask the staff to recommend whivh one of the many bottled craft beers is perfectly paired to you meal! amazing!

my partner and i are visiting brisbane for the week from new zealand and have been to big roddy’s twice! not because we didn’t know where to eat but because it was absolutely amazing!! with fantastic service, deliciousfoodand reasonable pricing why not? before going to the shack i saw on their website a review stating big roddy’s was “ground breaking. incredible. life changing.” i wholeheartedly agree. we will be craving it until we can come back to brisbane and get some more.

stepped in and saw a big group of people dining in. the only one girl at the counter was busy so we were just waiting to be served as we were not sure of the process. we didn’t get that girl any attention until another guy came out from the kitchen withfoodin his hands and told us to sit anywhere. after having decided with the menu, we were waiting to order. the girl kept doing what she needed to do and finally told us we needed to order at the counter. we was kind of frustrated of her ignorance but felt better after the drink andfoodwere served and she started being helpful and friendlier-asked how everything was and offered to take us some photos.

let’s talk about the food. commenced with a housemade coleslaw that’s fresh and light (not drenched in mayonnaise like many places did), and sweet potato fries that’s so far that best we had ever had-chunky, crisp but moist inside. though the fried chicken burger was average but still we were happy with its good size. the half rack of baby pork rib was delivered impressively tender and moist with charcoal smoky flavour. it would have been perfect if it was a little saucier not that dry. the chocolate ganache that offered both smooth mousse and crunchy topping ended our night beautifully. overall we had a great night thanks to big roddy.

oof. thefoodis so satisfying. a must go if you're craving ribs or burgers. nice range of options. place is a bit small though and can get a bit loud.

i’m american and love me some buffalo wings, juicy burgers and ribs. this is our monthly date night location. burgers are to die for. succulent and fresh flavor. the beef ribs are amazing and literally fall of the bone. so yummy. they offer a multitude of sauces be kind and ask for some trial sizes but please don’t waste them. ambience is amazing. feels like you’re in la or new york. great job

these guys are serious business and don’t fail even under pressure. a few weeks ago they were jam packed and my cousins and i showed up at 5:45 pm looking for a table of 6. the server really tried to seat us but they were booked. she suggested a table that had a booking for 6:30 pm. we got onto it as we were starving. ourfoodcame out fresh, juicy in 10 minutes. we devoured everything and were ready to go by 6:28 pm. great thank you to the staff at roddys for feeding us lol

super yummyfoodand super awesome customer service. first time in and all options and menu items explained in detail. foodwas served quickly and it was reallllly good.

me, my boyfriend & 2 friends had an amazing feast here after buying a voucher on groupon.🍴 thefoodwas so so tasty & the portions were massive. sweet potato fries were amazing & so were the ribs.🍖 staff were pleasant too.😊

the beef and brisket ribwich was damn tasty! and the poutine was super satisfying. looking forward to trying the signature ribs next time. we visited on a saturday evening so it was a little cramped, but we still received ourfoodquickly and the staff were genuinely lovely. i especially liked how each table was given a roll of paper towel for realistic rib messiness! #keepingitreal
