bellevue bistro

a great neighborhood restaurant. only has a few dozen tables. foodwas hot and fresh. both bistro bakes were perfectly cooked. these portions are very big. neither my mom or i could finish the entire plates. the coffee comes in nice big mugs to wrap your hands around on a cold day. definitely worth a stop for breakfast.

i really like the menu at bellevue bistro; there are some creative offerings. breakfast is organized by bakes (different hot skillet options served over potatoes with two eggs on top), benedicts (served over biscuits and topped with two fried eggs and various special sauces), and other good stuff like french toast and goetta grilled cheese. there were four of us that went for brunch and between us we tried the kentucky hot brown, the bellevue hot brown, the veggie bake, the bistro french toast, and the curry chicken salad sandwich. we enjoyed thefoodquite a bit, but i think the hardest part is that four coffee lovers, starting their day here, found the coffee very weak. they serve mt. lookout joes coffee, which is great, i just don't think they brew it strong enough. overall, bellevue bistro is a charming spot...but we did leave and get coffee somewhere else.

mmmmmmmm. i came to the bistro expecting ro order the famous and repeatedly recommended goetta sandwich.i couldnt order it though after i saw the mediterranean breakfast bake. potatoes onions mushrooms tomatoes basil eggs spinach mozzarella and feta cheese, basically everything i love in this life. and when i saw it, it did not disappoint. still sizzling as it was the served, the portion offoodwas enormous! the best meal ive eaten under ten dollars in a long time. great, homey service. quaint, artsy vibe. bellevue bistro is a hidden gem.

loved this place.foodwas awesome and they have some really unique, spunky dishes as well as classic, simple dishes. i would definately recommend this place. the place is really small so be willing to wait for a table.

i went there with my husband and two little girls. we ordered shortly after we arrived. 35 minutes after we ordered, they brought out unappetizing fruit that we ordered for the girls. about 40 minutes after we ordered, they brought my girlsfoodout which looked fine. 45 minutes after we ordered, the waitress came to the table saying they left our breakfast in the oven too long and it was burnt pretty badly. needless to say we opted not to have them remake our food. they comped our coffees and charged us for thefoodthat was served. i can't comment on how thefoodtasted because after being there for an hour, i hadn't had a bite of food. i feel confident saying that this restaurant is very poorly managed and we will not being going back.

the menu is so promising but the execution a letdown. after a really long wait (there are only 9 tables in the place), of our table of 4 at brunch, all 4 dishes were overcooked; burnt and dried out. mine was even supposed to have hollandaise sauce. my daughter was given something different than she ordered and after waiting quite a while for the waitress to come back, she walked to the counter with the plate and asked for the right food. the waitress was not nice or apologetic. another significant wait and she finally got her food, also overcooked and dry. i had told the waitress i wanted to place a to go order when she delivered our food. by the time she came back, we were finished eating and already impatient for our checks. i did not want to wait another 20-45 minutes forfoodso i declined and asked for the check.
in the spirit of fairness and hope, i will give bb one more chance to prove they can live up to the reviews on here and their wonderful menu.

not what i had hoped for.. let me start by saying that i really wanted to like this place. i read great reviews about thefoodand the atmosphere, and those reviews were pretty much on target. the service however was absolutely horrible!. we were a party of 4 with a 3 year old child. no high chairs, buts thats ok. we were greated in a timely manner and our drinks brought out to us fast, but that was the end of anything being quick. there are 2 waitresses here for about 10 tables total. the waitresses looked like they hated being there. never a smile. we were only given 2 menus for the 4 of us to look at. we were there for almost 15 minutes before finally taking our order, and that was after i flagged her down and said we were ready to order. then the wait came. we waited 45 minutes forfoodto come out. and the waitress only checked on us once in 45 minutes!!! im sorry, but that is just unexcusable. and when she did check on us and we needed refills, she brought the ice tea out and poured it into the glass that did not have any ice left in it. warm ice tea? my friend then had to ask for a glass of just ice so that he could pour the warm tea into it. the place was full, but i noticed that basically none of the tables were really being waited on, and everyone was waiting for food. i counted a good 25 minutes where nofoodat all came out the the kitchen and the waitresses just stood at the counter staring at everyone. when ourfooddid come out it looked delish! one problem though, everyone got therefoodexcept me and the waitress came over and told me she was sorry but they messed up my meal and it would be another 5 minutes for my food. after waiting 45 minutes, myfoodwas wrong? i said ok, and when it did come out it looked good! thefoodwas ok, but my meal was missing the hollindaise sauce it was supposed to have, so it was a little dry. i didnt say anything because a.) i had already waiting 50 minutes for myfoodand did not want to wait any longer and b.) the waitress never came around to check on us at all after we got our food. i got my son a muffin and she asked if i wanted it heated and i told her no. then i regretted not taking her suggestion to heat it because it was as hard as a rock! like brick stone, not edible hard. the waitress dropped the check off at the table and never said thanks, or asked if we needed anything else. we arrived at this resturant at 12:15p and did not get out of there until 1:40p. good thing we werent in a hurry to eat!
for the most part, everyone agreed that thefoodwas pretty good. the resturant itself is super cute and kind of artsy. its really ashame that the wait staff if unfriendly and appears to not care at all about the customers. i hope the owner reads this review and gets some new staff in there, and then maybe i'll think about going back.

this quaint little bistro is a great neighborhood dining experience. there are many other dishes i'd love to go back and try. there are sandwiches and salads for lunch that i'm sure are just as good as the breakfast and everything is fairly priced. i forgot to mention service--it was fine! unfortunately, i do think it could have been a little better. we had two different servers which was great; however, no one really checked on us after ourfoodwas delivered until we were finished eating, and they weren't really all that busy. it didn't really impact my overall feel of the restaurant, but i do think that aspect could be improved. check it out! i hope to go back again soon!

friendly service and good food. went there for dinner on a weeknight. not crowded, parked right in front. small but varied menu, friendly server who was attentive and engaging.foodwas excellent, will definitely return.

great concept. i think bellevue bistro has a pretty good thing going. went for the first time on a wednesday about 7pm. we were surprised how small it is, but that is one of the nice aspects of it. nice area for dining with a small coffee bar and featuring local artwork for sale that rotates monthly. i think it's creative to change your dinner menu every few weeks. they only featured 3 appetizers, and we chose the toasted ravioli-basically 8 pieces of ravioli, lightly breaded and fried. they were ok, tasted like a cheese stick, and not worth the 8 or 9 dollars.
my girlfriend had the 10oz ny strip and a side salad. she thought that the steak and red potatoes were overly salty. she wasn't really in the mood for steak but her 1st two entree choices they were out of for the night. that's all part of cooking with fresh ingredients though.
i had the ribs and onion rings. i think it was a 1/2 rack. they were very good. not falling off the bone, but they had a nice crust to them, were juicy, very meaty, and had a good thick bbq sauce. their onion rings were great....normally fried, then put on the grill for an extra crunch.
they serve bottled beer, but only 5 or 6 varieties. the best being stella and a bluegrass brewing co brown ale. i wish they served wine, but they only have wine coolers. maybe in the future?
despite my girlfriend thinking herfoodwas like a salt lick, we are eager to go back so we can try another dinner menu and what looks to be a very nice breakfast(weekends only) and lunch menu. also, it's only right down the street from the levee.

out of towner. every time i come into town i love to get breakfast here....it is greatfoodand a good price.....small place that servesfoodwith strong flavor.....
