quality food. interesting recipes for some standard stuff. great flavors.

a great neighborhood restaurant. only has a few dozen tables. food was hot and fresh. both bistro bakes were perfectly cooked. these portions are very big. neither my mom or i could finish the entire plates. the coffee comes in nice big mugs to wrap your hands around on a cold day. definitely worth a stop for breakfast.

surprise gem. it may not look like any special from the street but the quality, taste and portion sizes were amazing.
next time we will share a sandwich to make more room for the great soup and brownies. :-)

their butterscotch coffee was good without cream or sugar. that's when you know. also my group tried a bit of everyone's- so while i got the veggie bake (winner), the french toast and goetta grilled cheese were also must-have's!

i really like the menu at bellevue bistro; there are some creative offerings. breakfast is organized by bakes (different hot skillet options served over potatoes with two eggs on top), benedicts (served over biscuits and topped with two fried eggs and various special sauces), and other good stuff like french toast and goetta grilled cheese. there were four of us that went for brunch and between us we tried the kentucky hot brown, the bellevue hot brown, the veggie bake, the bistro french toast, and the curry chicken salad sandwich. we enjoyed the food quite a bit, but i think the hardest part is that four coffee lovers, starting their day here, found the coffee very weak. they serve mt. lookout joes coffee, which is great, i just don't think they brew it strong enough. overall, bellevue bistro is a charming spot...but we did leave and get coffee somewhere else.

mmmmmmmm. i came to the bistro expecting ro order the famous and repeatedly recommended goetta sandwich.i couldnt order it though after i saw the mediterranean breakfast bake. potatoes onions mushrooms tomatoes basil eggs spinach mozzarella and feta cheese, basically everything i love in this life. and when i saw it, it did not disappoint. still sizzling as it was the served, the portion of food was enormous! the best meal ive eaten under ten dollars in a long time. great, homey service. quaint, artsy vibe. bellevue bistro is a hidden gem.

loved this place. food was awesome and they have some really unique, spunky dishes as well as classic, simple dishes. i would definately recommend this place. the place is really small so be willing to wait for a table.

i went there with my husband and two little girls. we ordered shortly after we arrived. 35 minutes after we ordered, they brought out unappetizing fruit that we ordered for the girls. about 40 minutes after we ordered, they brought my girls food out which looked fine. 45 minutes after we ordered, the waitress came to the table saying they left our breakfast in the oven too long and it was burnt pretty badly. needless to say we opted not to have them remake our food. they comped our coffees and charged us for the food that was served. i can't comment on how the food tasted because after being there for an hour, i hadn't had a bite of food. i feel confident saying that this restaurant is very poorly managed and we will not being going back.

the menu is so promising but the execution a letdown. after a really long wait (there are only 9 tables in the place), of our table of 4 at brunch, all 4 dishes were overcooked; burnt and dried out. mine was even supposed to have hollandaise sauce. my daughter was given something different than she ordered and after waiting quite a while for the waitress to come back, she walked to the counter with the plate and asked for the right food. the waitress was not nice or apologetic. another significant wait and she finally got her food, also overcooked and dry. i had told the waitress i wanted to place a to go order when she delivered our food. by the time she came back, we were finished eating and already impatient for our checks. i did not want to wait another 20-45 minutes for food so i declined and asked for the check.
in the spirit of fairness and hope, i will give bb one more chance to prove they can live up to the reviews on here and their wonderful menu.

not what i had hoped for.. let me start by saying that i really wanted to like this place. i read great reviews about the food and the atmosphere, and those reviews were pretty much on target. the service however was absolutely horrible!. we were a party of 4 with a 3 year old child. no high chairs, buts thats ok. we were greated in a timely manner and our drinks brought out to us fast, but that was the end of anything being quick. there are 2 waitresses here for about 10 tables total. the waitresses looked like they hated being there. never a smile. we were only given 2 menus for the 4 of us to look at. we were there for almost 15 minutes before finally taking our order, and that was after i flagged her down and said we were ready to order. then the wait came. we waited 45 minutes for food to come out. and the waitress only checked on us once in 45 minutes!!! im sorry, but that is just unexcusable. and when she did check on us and we needed refills, she brought the ice tea out and poured it into the glass that did not have any ice left in it. warm ice tea? my friend then had to ask for a glass of just ice so that he could pour the warm tea into it. the place was full, but i noticed that basically none of the tables were really being waited on, and everyone was waiting for food. i counted a good 25 minutes where no food at all came out the the kitchen and the waitresses just stood at the counter staring at everyone. when our food did come out it looked delish! one problem though, everyone got there food except me and the waitress came over and told me she was sorry but they messed up my meal and it would be another 5 minutes for my food. after waiting 45 minutes, my food was wrong? i said ok, and when it did come out it looked good! the food was ok, but my meal was missing the hollindaise sauce it was supposed to have, so it was a little dry. i didnt say anything because a.) i had already waiting 50 minutes for my food and did not want to wait any longer and b.) the waitress never came around to check on us at all after we got our food. i got my son a muffin and she asked if i wanted it heated and i told her no. then i regretted not taking her suggestion to heat it because it was as hard as a rock! like brick stone, not edible hard. the waitress dropped the check off at the table and never said thanks, or asked if we needed anything else. we arrived at this resturant at 12:15p and did not get out of there until 1:40p. good thing we werent in a hurry to eat!
for the most part, everyone agreed that the food was pretty good. the resturant itself is super cute and kind of artsy. its really ashame that the wait staff if unfriendly and appears to not care at all about the customers. i hope the owner reads this review and gets some new staff in there, and then maybe i'll think about going back.

always glad that i took the time to stop in for lunch or breakfast every time i'm in the area. awesome reuben, without the corned beef.

goetta sandwich. we were in the area last weekend and were looking for an interesting place to have breakfast. the high ratings of this place drew my attention, and they have some interesting things on their menu, so we gave it a try. since i was in the greater cincinnati area, i wanted a dish with goetta, so i ordered the goetta sandwich. it's served with a side of rosemary potatoes. the potatoes were big chunks that were fried and then seasoned with a mixture of spices. there was salt and pepper, along with what i thought was a bit of ground chile pepper of some sort, maybe some celery seed, and a touch of rosemary. they were tasty but would have been even better with a bit more crunch.

next up was the sandwich. it started with toasted whole wheat bread topped with the fried goetta, two fried eggs, and a generous amount of cheese, which i thought was at least partially american. there was also a side of bacon jam. i thought the sandwich was good egg sandwich, but that the goetta was sliced to thin so that it was lost amongst the egg and cheese. a thicker slab might have stood out more. the bacon jam was interesting. sweet like you probably would expect from a jam, with a bacon flavor. it added a nice note to the bites i spread it on.

bb isn't the same. bellevue bistro has become my wife and i's favorite local place to eat, it first attracted us with its creative vegan recipes, and the rest of the menu (especially breakfast) has had us coming back 1 to 2 times a week. but the last 2 times i have gone this, they have served me nearly completely raw vegetables in the breakfast bakes like zucchini,mushrooms, and potatoes, not sure what has happened to the normally amazing chef they had back there, but heres to hoping for his return.

this is a great place to eat breakfast. my favorite so far is the bellevue. those rosemary potatoes = yum

this quaint little bistro is a great neighborhood dining experience. there are many other dishes i'd love to go back and try. there are sandwiches and salads for lunch that i'm sure are just as good as the breakfast and everything is fairly priced. i forgot to mention service--it was fine! unfortunately, i do think it could have been a little better. we had two different servers which was great; however, no one really checked on us after our food was delivered until we were finished eating, and they weren't really all that busy. it didn't really impact my overall feel of the restaurant, but i do think that aspect could be improved. check it out! i hope to go back again soon!
