belgian cafe - intercontinental hotel

we came for a beer and every time we order it does take more than 20 minutes to get a beer i wish their service was fast same as they bring the bill
we asked for the manager to make a complaint but he didn’t bother to show up at all
i believe this place should opened in five stars hotel at all
maybe in a such bad place where they suitable for

very bad service!! we went thursday after work around 4 pm service was very bad and slow. place was almost empty and drinks needed more than 15’min to be served!! the bell took 20 min and had items that was not order by us!!!
this is unfortunate though the place is nice

dismally slow and inept service. at the end of the evening we were charged for drinks we didn't have.  when we complained to the manager he was rude and obstructive so we ended up having to call the police. avoid.

the outdoor seating has its own feel and vibe! i went with my friends on a saturday evening after 6pm and we are the biggest group there. to my surprise we waited too long to get our order placed which sometimes i know it’s not a big deal but the server who was handling our table - “peter” was a very rude person.
i was placing drinks and food order and he didn’t had patience to wait till i complete my order. he behaved as he needs to go even if were pausing for 5-10 seconds. we requested him to get anything on table as it gets ready. after few mins when we called him to place more mocktails , we asked if we can get fries till the entire food gets ready. he replied very rudely that everything will come together only. he came to keep the complimentary breads on table and that time also he came and just kept it in the paper wrapped bag and left without mentioning to even one person on our table that what it was. after sometime when we were served drinks and food, one my friend requested to check with the bartender if her drink had complete ingredients ( like vodka in mojito) as it tasted like plain water, he denied 3-4 times to do so by insisting that it had vodka.
we quiet didn’t understand that why it was just getting such a treatment from him as we could see his behavior on our nearby tables. we really felt humiliated the way he treated our entire group which was a little off..
other than this, all other drinks and food was good.

belgian cafe, yeah no waffles- no chocolates :) but belgian beers (how cool is that).
tried stella mexican and fell in love with it (ask bar tender) goes well with thai style mussels.

perfect place to visit if you want to chill out from the daily hustle. you can grab a drink and enjoy the music which will definitely make your evening! best time to visit is during winters as it is a open cafe with amazing city view.

great place for pork ribs! haven’t found better in abu dhabi! nice variation of beers. and pleasant atmosphere inside and outside. i obviously recommend it for a relaxed, informal dinner.

superb ambience, best bar to be in winter for chats and chilling out. have been there plenty of times. belgian waffle is a defo dessert. it's always busy no matter is a weekday or weekend.

i would like to thank zomato team for recommending belgian cafe as one of the places to celebrate new years eve in abu dhabi. the outdoor seating, nice weather, 3 course set menu with variety of good choices, visibility of corniche fireworks, beautiful 80's theme music, and samba dance show  made the experience an enjoyable experience for me and my family. the steward was friendly and  catered to our needs. the ambiance was lovely and the food was great.  a place to remember and to recommend.

great place with wounderful view, muscles highly recomended, burgers are great also, prices are fairly high but it is expected from a 5 star hotel

we were staying at the intercontinental for the weekend and had dinner with friends at belgian. the food is the normal fare at belgian. good atmosphere if you are seated outside. it was cold and blowing so sat inside because of the kids. the service inside was not that great with us having to call for help each time. went with the signature mussels in garlic and cream. boys had the pasta and sliders. wife had the signature manwich. all good.

great beer and tried the wings and the nacho fries made to prefection. amazing atmosphere and great experience. the staff is are great and know the menu very well and give great recommendations.

food could be much better. the terrace is a nice chilling place. the salad and fries are good and tasty, while steak and waffle were disappointed. the steak was chewy and the waffle was not sweet and crunchy. the chocolate on the waffle is too liquid

i revisited the place after nearly 4 years for the belgian beer cafe experience we were used to. the wait staff seemed scattered and tired. so our orders took forever to be taken. 15 minutes into the ordered our waitress came running in with nuts and condiments. we ask for a round of drinks, belgian fries and cheese croquet. drinks came in and we were almost through when we reminded them we were starving and it been a half hour since our order. the starters were small, cold and greasy. we immediately placed our dinner orders; with the same delay in service. almost an effort to get their attention. we ended up nibbling or not eating our dinner and asked for a takeaway of 3 of the 4 dishes. they handed us the bag and made us sign the disclaimer promptly. they only gave us 2 of the dishes in a hurry. very disappointed. will not go again.

what a choice of belgian’s favorite beverages. the food was hit and miss. all the muscle dishes i ordered were not to my liking unfortunately. have heard good things about them so perhaps it was just not to my taste. the starters were quite nice.
