baumhower's restaurant

came in saturday night with a party of ten. we waited a while but it was well worth it. the manager on duty, recognizing we had young children, offered us free appetizers. we also chose to sit on the patio to decrease our wait time, it was a little chilly for thr kids and we mentioned that to our server and she immediately and without hesitating found us a place inside even though they were still on a wait. excellent food, service, and management!

great food & experience!. we have frequented baumhower’s in the past, and have came to know them as a cut above restaurant! the service has been adequate to good, even very good with severs such as tywana and nicole! however, when we were lucky enough to get a girl named bobby, the bar was raised two fold!
we thought she might have just gotten lucky the first time, and maybe the second time was coincidence, but not three times in a row! this is definitely a pattern and this girl is on top of her game! she’s very friendly, very accurate with the order, very conscious of any needs you may have, and i didn’t have to ask for extra napkins, more tea, or the check when we were ready to go!
btw, the first thing that really got our attention was her response, when she asked if we wanted her to bring out some hot biscuits? i said no sweetie that’s ok, the biscuit’s are always so doughy, they just sit here on the table and take up room. i have mentioned the doughy biscuits to other severs and they say well, that’s just the way they come out! bobby responded, oh i can fix that! just give me a few minutes!
in a few minutes bobby brings back some biscuits that were actually done! and they were so good, we (for the first time) asked if we could have some more! bobby brought us a few more done biscuits, and we had a great dinning experience!
our congrats to baumhower’s for such quality food, sports atmosphere and bobby for such outstanding service!! i would recommend baumhower’s (and have), to anyone!!

good job!!. i wanted to share my experience at baumhower's with you all!! i came in with my son on feb.24,2014 ,tywana was my server and damian was the manager on duty. service was great and the food was excellent i haven't had a good dinner experience in a while. thank you guys for having awsome workers you guys rock.

i went to baumhower on a thursday night ,i was in love with their service .the workers were friendly. the food was amazing! and pretty cheap.i would definitely go back!!

never again. my husband and i decided to have a friday night dinner out and chose to go to baumhower's because we have eaten at the montgomery and tuscaloosa locations and enjoyed it. bad idea!!!!! i don't know if i have ever had service this bad, ever. our waitress was clueless. she took our drink order and disappeared. she took forever to return with our drinks. we ordered an appetizer and after another long period, she returns to tell us that she forgot to put our order in and that they are rushing us our appetizer. we then wait and wait and wait for our meal. then we wait and wait and wait for the check. i could not believe how bad she was at her job. the couple behind us were also getting fed up with her. now about the food. the appetizer that she forgot to order and then put a rush on, tasted like it had been warmed in the microwave. i ordered the grilled lemon garlic chicken with grits. my grits had the film that comes from grits sitting too long, stirred in. i literally separated the film from the rest of the grits. every food item from the appetizer to biscuits to meal was, at best, lukewarm. when she finally brought our check, we went to the front to pay at the take out counter only to be informed that we couldn't pay cash there only debit or credit. what?????? i wasn't about to go and wait on this girl to come get my money so i paid with debit and she got a $3 tip. my husband and i are typically very good tippers, because we appreciate people who take pride in their job and do it well, but she blew it!!! oh and i almost forgot, they were running around trying to get somebody to roll silverware, because they were out of clean silverware. it was 5:30p.m. on friday, how do you run out of silverware? needless to say, we will not be back. as a matter of fact when we left i wanted to tell the people waiting in the lobby to cut their losses and go somewhere else. awful! awful!

love it!. best wings in town! on top of that, the hot bama brown is amazing!!

one of my favorites. frequent there a lot when i come to huntsville shopping. love the black and white chicken and the garlic cheese biscuits. mixed drinks are always good, and service is great.

great spot! top-notch service.. we were there for a special occasion... in from out of town. chef came out to talk with us and plan a meal for our son who has several severe food allergies. above and beyond. server was honest about his opinion of menu items. did a great job for us. burger was great. chicken wings great. curly fries great. fried banana pudding was delicious!!!

needs to freshen up. good service food needs work. had fish wrap that was not bad. wife had catfish plate, fries needed to be cooked better and fresher, hush puppies were not cooked properly (batter seemed old or not fresh).

my husband went for lunch today. the waitress ran his credit card on another table then ran it on my husbands check. they said they can't cancel it today but will reverse it and it may not show until tuesday, 3 days from now. i've never been, wanted to but certainly won't go there now. if their computer system is that old and their staff is that stupid, who knows what their food is like. my husband paid $46 for a $10 lunch!! i've worked in retail management and worked in restaurants for years. there is no reason that any charge cannot be canceled unless your system is antiquated or you don't give a s*** about customer service.

horrible lunch. after a busy day of shopping, we decided to try out baumhower's restaurant on the recommendation of a friend. well, that was a bad idea. for starters we had the salsa and chips. the menu states fresh homemade salsa (thats not what you get!!! it might have been fresh out of the jar) as for the chips, they were slightly stale or more likely straight out of a bag.

i opted for the wings which were actually quite good. overly priced for what you get but not bad tasting. now for the less than pleasant part of our meal.

rachel had the a side salad drowned in dressing after she requested the dressing on the side ( servers pay attention to your customers). as for her main course, rachel had fish & grits described as (caribbean-grilled fish perfectly seasoned, then gently grilled to tender perfection and served with our homemade alabama stone-ground grits of the day with stewed okra & tomatoes.) well, that's not what you get. the fish was old and over-cooked, lacking in flavor or taste. as for the grits, i'm not sure how you can ruin something so simple. i guess when you cook them hours before hand it kills the flavor. the okra and tomatoes, way more tomatoes than okra i guess it should have said tomatoes with a okra side.

lastly the restaurant was like having lunch in a sauna, excessively hot in the dining area. even though our server deja was a very pleasant and professional individual, service was quite slow.

if you opt to dine at baumhower's be sure to make sure the prices your charged match whats on the menu, because ours didn't. our server had to clear it with the manager (who never came out when there was a problem)
to correct out ticket.

baumhower's you've lost two new people to huntsville who will not be back.

i’m not sure why i’m giving a sports bar that specializes in wings such a hard time about their hushpuppies, but a piece of food that bad has got to be exposed for the mockery of the genre that it is.

best wings in town.

love it. i have been frequenting wings, which is now baumhower's for tge last 10-15 years and have always loved it. great food and service. you can't go wrong.
