the quantity for that huge amount is very very less even normal restaurants provide a good quantity for the price they charge. i have tried same dish during dining and the quantity was more at that time.

we came here looking at the ratings but were a bit disappointed. pasta was under cooked, and soups were too thick and not flavorful, maybe too much pepper. we loved the baby potatoes roasted with garlic and the chocolate fudge!

basil with a twist – checklist tick!

beginning of this year, basil with a twist was the first restaurant i went to. since it was pandemic, there were fewer people because of the compact space in the restaurant.

usually, before visiting any restaurant, i would run through the menu in the zomato app and the top dishes mentioned based on the reviews and decide what i'll eat or try at the restaurant, but i didn’t plan anything.

my friend suggested the dishes as she had been there before since we landed there pretty late. the cheesy chicken pepperoni pizza was appetizing, taste soooo good, and became my favourite dish at basil with a twist and pesto chicken pasta.

the quantity of both the dishes was tummy-ful. the drinks we ordered are cold coffee and a banana milkshake.
enjoy a fine-dine experience that is the perfect place for family and friends. lighting is subtle and pleasing, which gives a soothing feeling as you enter, clean tables and cutlery. i forgot to click pic of the ambience.

food: yummy
service: was quick
pricing: worth it

basil with a twist is a well furnished place for a peaceful and comfortable dine. the restaurant is located at heart of the city. it concentrates more on european cuisine. ambiance was decent. went there for are a brunch. first, we ordered melting sensation and spicy potatoes. both were exceptional. later we ordered a veg harmony pizza that was very delicious with olives and jalapeños. loved the food we well as service. must try: melting sensation.
pros: location, taste, ambiance.
cons : price. (i would actually rate 5 if foods were of reasonable price.)

the restaurant is a good place for its european cuisine. easy to locate and has a good parking space. it’s delicious with the price being little on the upper scale. i have been twice and the taste for the same items are different every time.

roasted pumpkin soup was great the first time and the second time, they screwed up completely. grilled chicken breast with mushroom sauce is the best item they have. basil ratatouille is just fine. their chicken pizza is amazing to taste. chocolate moose for the dessert is a fine ending.

ambiance 5/5
food 4/5
value for money 4/5
service 4.5/5

a restaurant which serves good european cuisine in chennai is a rarity. i was surprised to know there is one near to me.

the ambience and set up was strictly okay. and air conditioning not that great. it is a big minus in hot and humid chennai.

but they compensated with good and yummy food. to a fair extent.

in soups we had hearty chicken soup and roasted pumpkin soup. both were served thick and hot - the way i like them. the chunks of chicken in soup were succulent. pumpkin soup was little too sweet for my pallette though.

in mains we ordered grilled chicken with pepper sauce and silky mash. everything was perfect on the plate but that pepper sauce was out of this world. we also had spinach and corn baked pasta. it was yum yum yum.

the dessert we ordered was disappointing though. pannacotta we had was too dense and felt like a mousse instead. this was a fail.

really good steak place. the mushroom sauce was a well recommended side. mash was as it should be...soft and buttery.
the pasta arrabiata was a little too sour for my tatse and the penne too thick to qualify as fine dining.
dessert of chocolate fudge with brownie was usual.
the food is prepared with care and the menu exciting. the ambience is fine...nice for lunch too. a good family place. the service is okay.

positives: decent varieties, awesome desert, friendly and courteous staff, has a tv telecasting games
negatives: food taste wasn't great. baked pasta was bland and lacked seasoning. pizza base was bad, very soggy for a thin pizza.

service food everything is too good.. the kitchen is at centre of the restaurant and we can see the preparation of our food.. the kitchen looks so clean.. the mild music was playing in a background... that was a smooth dinning experience 🙂🙂. here comes the food part

1.soup : pumpkin soup. yummy soup..i never had pumpkin soup before, but this is the best .. soup was so creamy and thick ,the taste was different . i really loved the punch in it.must try.

2.starter : v asked for suggestions in vegetarian, they suggested quesdilla corn veggies. its a pita bread stuffed and grilled with cheese, corn, and veggies, served with two different dips. it was so crunchy and juicy inside. the dips are delicious.. couldn't take the starter pic as i was so hungry😛
