best couture tapas in london (yes even better than la tasca ;-) )
no reservations - get a bottle to ease the pain in the queue. go for lunch to reduce yourwaittime.
food and watching it being made is pure theatre a joy to watch eat and share. cava at 30 a shot - oof! go here.

the hardens guide ranks this as the best spanish tapas place in london. i do agree and i love this place. the only problem with this place is that it can only seat around 20 people in a small room in soho, so unless you come at 5.30pm for dinner or some other obscure time when people don't usually eat, you willwaitfor a table for at least 1.5 hours as you cant book. but still you can order some dishes whilst youwaitand stand against the wall. food is excellent and is worth the wait, when i last went there i had - pan con tomate, my favourite pimientos de padron, jamon, little chorizo and potatoe chips (see in the 1st pic), cuttlefish, octopus, baby gem salad and more chorizo and potatoes (see in the 2nd pic). this is also my favourite tapas place in london, and the charm of the small room in soho, just adds to the whole cool vibe of the place.

such a tasty spread and i had one of the best lunches here in london. i queued up 30 mins before the restaurant opens and was 3rd in line, as soon as the clock striked 12, they were sitting people down and 10 mins after they opened, it was full house. make sure you come early if you want to get seated straight away, otherwise it could be an housewaitat least as you have towaitfor the first few groups to leave. but it will be worth it! everything on the menu sounded amazing, we got the octopus, pork belly and some veggies. the highlight was definitely the soft shell crab. it was cooked perfectly and it was an explosion of flavours in your mouth. the sauce was tangy, sweet, salty and a bit of spice at the same time. it was so good

this is a long due review, my visit was in dec 2017. long queue even though we arrived here fairly early - prob half an hour after dinner service started? we had towaitoutside for 30 mins then ushered in to queue up again for 30 mins. you can order small bites while waiting inside and we wanted to be seated inside hence the longer wait. all i can say was the food is worth thewait- we ordered quite a lot for 2 person but we finished everything! i would definitely visit again, and come a bit early to skip the q!

barrafina takes no reservations. there is no waiting list, you have to stay in the queue for 45 minutes (minimum). a longwaitto get a table, but it is worth the wait! if you wish, you can have small appetiser while waiting.

they serve the best tapas in town! every single tapas is sooo flavorful, especially the weekly special (black ink rice, portobello croquette, tomato salad). i would recommend solomillo de ternera instead of the octopus with capers. the pears in white wine is a must have.

good food, small portions and a longwaitis how i would summarize my visit to barrafina. they don't take reservations so the only way to try them out is to wait! but u can get some wine and starters on the side, so it isn't that bad. the starter portions are really tiny like you get one prawn in a portion. tried a few platters of tapas, everything was good.

i am not going to write anything bad about barrafina. there is nothing bad to say about barrafina. general consensus is that the food at barrafina is good and general consensus is right. but how good? well, for me, just pleasantly good, not knock-your-socks-off good. i enjoyed everything i ate and the meal itself was a very pleasurable experience. even the hour’swaitfor a table passed by quite quickly as we started on a bottle of red and got some padron peppers and bread to keep us company. for the first time ever i think i actually found a spicy one!

a minimumwaitof 45 minutes to get a table inside pretty much sums up how in demand this place is.

this tapas bar offers a great vibe, especially inside. i would recommend it for dates or for a maximum number of 4 people, otherwise you would be waiting too long.

most importantly the food is great... and the service is also great. we ordered too much food so i wont list all of them, but you can check out the pictures.

i would recommend the ham croquettes, they are incredible.

go to this place, but go early... there is no waiting list, you have to stay in the queue!

stay hungry my friends!

barrafina almost reminded me of cerveceria catalana in barcelona. this restaurant takes no reservations and with it being so popular with very limited seating, you’re bound towaitfor an average time of 45 minutes. they don’t take your name and number so you can’t stroll around, you just wait there, so make sure you are with good company. you will be very bored otherwise because this isn’t a bar… awkward. luckily thewaitis totally worth it!
