good food, nice patio, comfortable atmosphere. i definitely enjoyed my visit. would go again, i think i would enjoy going back at night when everything is all lit up.

a downtown must. this place has the food of a five star restaurant and the feel of a modern cabin. the food is excellent and the atmosphere is fresh. a must is to get their in house drinks. they have their own distillery, and the drinks are marvelous.

great food. bardenay is consistently delicious! great atmosphere too.

food was incredible. drink list was extensive. wait staff was “good”. there was parking available. ambiance was perfect. i devoured their food. and i’m usually quite critical.

the large wooden bar and the still are really cool scenery. but this place with it's high ceilings is very echoey and has the feel of a cafeteria. very loud and crowded.

that being said the heavy smokey martini was pretty awesome and the sweet potato fries were good. they were actually crispy which is something a lot of restaurants fail to do even with regular potatoes.

always have the yummiest food here and the service is always great! they have an awesome happy hour but food is always fair priced during regular hours. just a nice, great, locally inspired place that is always delicious! they have awesome drinks here too!

dinner great- but loud!. we enjoyed the salmon dinners, good options for sides- and once the crowd cleared out we could actually hear ourselves think! perhaps some buffers in the ceiling might help.....? the old building does have charm... wish we could have been outside.
plan to use the bathroom elsewhere- not always in great shape and desperately needing a remodel, or a good cleaning!

gluten free menu not safe. my family and i tried this restaurant (eagle location) for the first time in august 2014. we seldom go out to eat because our daughter has celiac disease and there are virtually no restaurants in the treasure valley that take gluten free seriously. bardenay has a gluten free menu, so we decided to give it a try. (the gf menu contains a disclaimer that "bardenay, however, neither guarantees nor warrants that any specific menu item will be entirely free of gluten even though it has attempted to exclude gluten from each menu item.") when we ordered, we asked the server to make note to the kitchen that the gf dish needed to handled carefully to avoid any cross-contamination. it took an extremely long time for our order to come (we almost got up and left), but we started eating, my daughter noticed after her first bite that they had given her the wrong sauce which was not gf. we didn't even get home before our daughter was sick from gluten poisoning. suffice it to say that bardenay's gf menu is catering to the gf fad -- it is not intended for those who have celiac disease or have serious gluten intolerance. we will never eat at bardenay again.

i really wanted to like this place.. i went here three times so you can certainly say that i tried. my latest i had the 12oz new york with the cherry tomatoes and it was about as good as a chain restaurant. the steak was mostly fat and so so in the flavor department. the tomatoes were weird sweet and they forgot the side that i also wanted. when i did get it the veggies were really hard. the waitress was not that great. overall i would say try something else i would give them about a 4.

good place, but very loud accoustically!. this place has pretty good food and the prices are decent, but do not go here if you want to have a conversation with someone, such as on a date, because, as cool as the atmosphere is (in an historic building), it creates a very loud atmosphere. otherwise, their patio is a great place to enjoy a great drink and a yummy meal!

i tried to like this place..but i've had the worst service every time i have been here. it takes forever...i waited 25 minutes for a coffee once..and my food is never anything special. sorry to say i cannot recommend

bardenay's - coeur d'alene. three friends ate at bardenay in cda, yesterday, sunday 01/26 at 12:00 pm. out of 3 meals, all three had problems. the french toast was overcooked as with the chorizo sausage, my omelet was stuck to the sides (overheated) of the plate and friends poached egg was runny and not cooked. i have always liked bardenay's, but the last two times have been disappointing. do you have a new chef? not enough personnel to bring the food to table so it's not overcooked or heated under a heat lamp? once before the special chicken salad sandwiches two of us had was dry and not edible. we need to get our confidence back!!

disappointing. the atmosphere was okay, but my food was mediocre. the french onion soup i had at my hotel's restaurant was better (not saying much) and my portobello mushroom sandwich was just meh.

we love this restaurant. the food is excellent. our service has always been wonderful. it's a tad noisy,as it is a pub..but you just can't beat the really amazing food.

very good meal. a pub atmosphere on the noisy ( to be expected) side. service was ok, not great. served bread with my meal but was offered no butter. had to ask to get my water glass re-filled. ordered the featured dessert, and they were out at a time of the evening when it should have still been available. i had the rum pepper steak. very good. an excellent piece of meat, cooked properly to medium rare, served with mashed potatoes and "chef's" vegetables. i'd go back.
