atmosphere is upbeat and the drink selection is a 10. it can be very loud with the cement floor and cavernous ceiling. the food is excellent, but don't expect a large selection. being a faithful patron for years, the menu is a bit tired.

dinner last night. i work at one of the local businesses next to bardenay in eagle. we decided to order some dinner to go. i ordered the grilled salmon. the menu said it came with a salad. very disappointed. even though the fish tasted good and was moist, the salad was just lettuce that appeared to have been taken right from the bag, sprinkled with some croutons, a small container of dressing and a lemon wedge. very disappointing. i have heard good things. big let down

on the basque block is bardenay (sailor term for cocktails) a restaurant and distillery serving up northwest inspired food and drink.  this is the first restaurant in the us with the ability to create handcrafted liquor on-site.

favorite in boise. great dining experience! anytime family comes to town this restaurant is at the top of their "to do" list. everyone has a favorite menu item. beautiful outdoor patio. great service and large portions at a reasonable price.

my husband and i went to the downtown bardenay for my birthday lunch today. it was self seating and we waited quit a while for service, once crystal came to our table she was passive aggressive with her looks and comments. i was not happy that much of the menu i saw online was not available, but ordered something anyway. the food took forever to come and the restaurant was only half full. if the food was good or if my order was even correct, i could have overlooked the long wait...but it wasn't good and it wasn't correct! our waitress rolled her eyes at us again saying she would fix it, but that is how it is, basically. no birthday cake or ice cream, no manager asking to fix anything, no discount for mistakes and bad food. we will not be back!!!!!

one of my favorites. this is an all around good restaurant for brunch, lunch, dinner, drinks. they have an extensive menu that is reasonably priced. if you bring a group of people, everyone will find something they like. that's why i like this place when i'm hosting out of town guests. the mixed drinks are great--strong and lots of unusal combinations. they make the best greyhound in town! staff have always been friendly. i've always been able to find a seat. they also have lovely outdoor seating during the summer. you can't go wrong with bardenay!

great sandwiches. large, open atmosphere. distillery tanks visible. nice bar. outside seating available. can recommend the bardenay club and the reuben sandwiches. sandwich menu is extensive and varied. salads are delicious as well.

meh! the first two drinks we ordered we're very simple, dirty martini and a mojito. we sent both back they were disgusting and we never send anything back. the second round was a house specialty and muh much better we both had at least 3! the food was just ok. we had a bacon cheese burger and the black bean sweet potato chimichanga. nothing to write home about folks.

msg. danger will robinson - watch the blood pressure. despite the beautiful people in the patio seating, this place tends to juice the food especially it seems the meats. the liquor has always been copious and fairly-priced, which probably explains the patio.

love the kobe beef tacos and the beef skewers! the basil instinct is my favorite summer cocktail. nice patio and service is typically pretty good.

average. the food didn't taste bad, but when the service was as bad and as slow as the service we received, the food doesn't taste all that good either. overall, the atmosphere was pleasant, but it didn't make up for the lack of effort shown by the staff we encountered.

great food at great prices. i've never had a bad meal here, all the meat comes out flavorful and juicy. sandwhiches are awesome, just yum. (this goes for both locations)
